Importance of Fibres

A day's diet plan should provide at least 25g to 40 g of fibre women need, slightly less fibre than men. For fibre to work well it needs water, so drink enough water. Fibre acts as a sponge and absorbs water and swells up in the gut and help to move food waste for elimination. Some types of fibre help maintain the good bacteria in the gut.

How can I remove dark circles around the eyes. I hope you will give the solution for this problem. Can we remove this dark circles around the eyes?

Hello, Common reasons for dark circle are aging, genetics, nutritional deficiency (of vitamin A, C, K, E) , sleep deprivation, worm-infestation, anemia, smoking & drinking, dehydration, sun exposure, allergies, stress/ tension and hormonal changes. Research also suggests that dark circles are linked to anemia, and liver diseases. So, in case of dark circles which are there due to some underlying cause can be get rid rid of once the causative factor is rectified. But the dark circles which are inherited from our genes can't be removed completely, to some extent can make slightly better. Diet and Management: Thus, always take a balanced diet rich in green leafy vegetable, dairy products and all types of fruits to keep your body healthy. It is advisable to have at least 10-12 glasses of water and include fresh fruit daily. It is also advisable to restrict the intake of caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee, alcohol and other caffeinated drinks as it aggravates dehydration. Take enough of 6-8hrs. Of sleep. Avoid taking stress/ tension. Do daily exercising regularly as it increases oxygen carrying capacity of the cells and tissues. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines – Schwabe's Cina 1M/ one dose at night for 10 days; Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. - both twice daily for 20 days. Revert me back there after.

I am 50 years old male with very hi triglycerides. To a tune of 393 even after medication. How do I reduce them?

In order to reduce blood triglycerides level you need to lose weight (19 Kg), Exercise daily for 1 hr, reduce quantity of cereal (ex rice/ roti/ bread) in your meal, instead include a dairy item, plenty of vegetables, fruits, pulse/ meat in the meal, replace simple carbs like sugar, poatato, maida, rice, bread, noodles, macaroni with complex carbs like atta, bajra, ragi, barley, oats, jowar, dalia, suji, salads, whole fruits, avoid junk/ fast/ street/ processed/ packaged/ fried/ sugary foods/ soft drinks/ alcohol.

I am civil engineer, working in chemical zone and in sun heat and my skin gone too dark, please suggest me something.

Dear, follow these important tips to get fair colour of skin * avoid to go in strong sunlight and if you have to go in sunlight then cover your face & exposed parts of body before going in sunlight. * Use sunscreen having SPF 15 on face especially in summer and spring season. * Take vitamin -E rich foods like dry fruits, egg and fish as you like. You can take cord liver oil capsule daily. * Take more anti oxidant foods like fruits (Apple, grapes, melon) and citrus fruits. * Make paste of Papaya and apply this paste on face & exposed body parts and leave it for 15 minutes. It brightens the skin and lower melanin content. *• Apply one teaspoon of honey for 30 minutes and wash it off. • Apply one teaspoon Besan with one teaspoon of curd and a pinch of haldi (turmeric) mix it with water then apply for 15 minutes then rinse off it with water.

That is basically because your body lacks the essential oil that is important for a healthy skin remember there are two kinds of fat/cholesterol 1. The good fat - present in all our nuts like almonds, walnut. Ground nut, sesame, milk, buttermilk/curds and ghee (1/2 tsps per day). This fat is vital for a healthy skin, hair, eyes and to have healthy joints 2. The bad fat - that comes with excessive consumption of cooking oil, deep fried food, red meat, meat fat and re used oil. This is harmful to our body start having badam oil during winters - 5 drops mixed with a small cup of warm milk and taken in empty stomach in the mornings externally apply this home made face cream - fresh cream/ cream of milk - 1tsp + moong dal powder 1tsp + milk 1 tsp+ aloe vera gel 1/2 tsp - mix well, apply to face, massage with your finger tips for a couple of minutes and then wash your face with cold water. Do this at bedtime everyday for best results.

most sharp pains/cysts/ in vagina cases are caused by yeast infection resulting to inflammation in the external genitalia known as vaginitis.Sits bath in a tub filled with warm water for 15 minutes at least 3 times in a day.....add Aloe liquis honey turmeric baking soda formula and see all gone if not infected ....them apply some anti oxidant cream after sits bath .....ask more

बदहजमी की तमाम वजहें हो सकती हैं। मसलन भूख से ज्यादा खाना, खाने को सही तरीके से नहीं चबाना, नींद पूरी न होना, खाना सही तरह से पका न होना या फिर एक्सरसाइज न करना। इसके अलावा तेज मसालेदार भोजन और जीवनशैली में बदलाव के कारण भी पाचन की समस्या पैदा हो सकती है।

बदहजमी होने पर इन घरेलू नुस्खों को आजमाएं :

एक चम्मच अजवाइन के साथ नमक मिलाकर खाने से बदहजमी से तुरंत छुटकारा मिलता है।

एक गिलास पानी में पुदीने के रस की दो-तीन बूंदें डालकर हर तीन-चार घंटे के अंतराल पर पीएं।

एक गिलास गुनगुने पानी में एक चम्मच नींबू, अदरक का रस और दो छोटे चम्मच शहद भी मिला लें। इसे पीने से पाचन संबंधी परेशानी दूर होगी।

अगर एसिडिटी से परेशान हैं, तो एक गिलास पानी में नींबू निचोड़कर पीएं।

अगर चाय पीना नहीं छोड़ सकते, तो हर्बल टी का प्रयोग करना शुरू कर दें।

कॉफी, अल्कोहल और धूम्रपान से बचें। इनसे भी पाचन खराब होने की आशंका होती है।

अधिक टाइट कपड़े और जींस न पहनें।

डिनर सोने से कम से कम दो-तीन घंटे पहले कर लें।

एक चम्मच धनिए के भुने हुए बीज को एक गिलास छाछ में मिलाकर पीएं।

खाने के बाद एक चम्मच सौंफ अवश्य चबाएं।

अगर आपके मुंह का जायका खराब हो रहा है तो अदरक के टुकड़े में काला नमक लगाकर खाएं।

अपने भोजन में रेशेदार फल-सब्जियों को शामिल करें। मैदा से बनी चीजों का सेवन न करें।

भोजन हमेशा समय पर करें.

प्रतिदिन सुबह देसी शहद में निम्बू रस मिलाकर चाट लें.

हींग, लहसुन, चद गुप्पा ये तीनो बूटियाँ पीसकर गोली बनाकर छाँव में सुखा लें, व् प्रतिदिन एक गोली खाएं.

भोजन के समय सादे पानी के बजाये अजवायन का उबला पानी प्रयोग करें.

लहसुन, जीरा १० ग्राम घी में भुनकर भोजन से पहले खाएं.

सौंठ पावडर शहद ये गर्म पानी से खाएं.

लौंग का उबला पानी रोजाना पियें.

जीरा, सौंफ, अजवायन इनको सुखाकर पावडर बना लें,शहद के साथ भोजन से पहले प्रयोग करें.

I am a 36 old male. I am getting a constant pain in my back and abdominal area. Doctors are saying it's because of stone. Tho I had stone in the past. But when I went for altra sound there was no stone in my kidney. Then I went for ivp x ray. There too nothing turned up. Please tell what problem I have and what's it cure.

Kindly show me a photograph & digital X RAYS of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit.D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

How can I get treated for psoriasis which is in early stage? What are the preventive measures to be taken to reduce this disease?

Hello lybrate-user, as you are suffering from psoriasis, psoriasis is genetic disorder triggered due to stressful conditions and irregular life style. We are treating psoriasis using ayurvedic medicines. Psoriasis has three stages. First stage is when disease remain on skin and there are scaly patches. Second stage comes when there is pitting on nails and in last stage it enter the joints and there is pain in small joints. Generally patient use steroidal application on patches which give temporary relief and disease reappear after 2/3 days. In severe cases methotrexate is used which is not a safer option and is liver toxic. Ayurveda has got a complete remedy for psoriasis. It is a safer option and can be used for longer duration without any side effects. Ayurvedic external application give very quick results with sun exposure in clearing the scales and internal treatment does not allow the disease to re appear. Psoriasis is a manageable disease and can be managed with ease and effectively using ayurveda. You should use 3 gms of haldi with milk helps in psoriasis patients.

Hello, The menses may have been delayed due to stress in itself. If no chances of pregnancy then she can get an ultrasound pelvis to check for any endometrial cause and then can opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones.

I have black spots on my face. What shall I do to remove them without side effects.

Apply kojivit gel twice daily over spots.Use a broad spectrum sunscreen both indoors as well as before going out. It shud b both uva and uvb protective. Use a cap or scarf or your dupatta to cover your head. Avoid scrubbing your face. Do not steam or sauna. If you swim, use a sunscreen prior to it and after.Avoid face cosmetics for the time being. You can press powder onto your sunscreen if at all you want to use a cosmetic. Drink two litres of water everyday. Pick up carrots, papaya, pumpkin, black grapes to have everyday. These contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients which vil soften your skin. Do not stress over anything. Pray-itll distract you off your stress. You can use this do it yourself mask at home which vil give you an instant glow. Mix 1 tbsp puree each of papaya and carrot with 1 tbsp of curd and 1 tbsp of aloe vera. Apply it across your face or dull body part for ten to fifteen minutes and wash it off without soap.

Hello. When brushing twice a day and flossing doesn't help improve your yellow teeth, it's time to consider other options. Teeth become yellow due to stains – both deep and surface-level – as well as other causes that sometimes aren't under our control. Although coffee and cigarettes leave stains on your teeth over time, thin tooth enamel also makes teeth look yellow. Tooth enamel is the hard, white surface of your teeth, and underneath it is a pale brown substance called dentin. Thick enamel looks white, but thin enamel allows dentin tones to show through, making teeth look yellow from the outside. Enamel naturally wears thin as people age, but acids from foods and drinks such as sour candies, oranges and soda also thin the enamel by eroding its surface. Saliva neutralizes acid and washes it away, but people suffering from dry mouth miss out on this protective effect. Other causes of yellow teeth include antibiotic use or excessive fluoride intake in young children, which can cause yellow-stained adult teeth later. Treatments for certain conditions can also affect tooth color. For example, head and neck radiation and chemotherapy can cause teeth discoloration. In addition, certain infections in pregnant mothers can cause tooth discoloration in the infant by affecting enamel development. Certain medication, mouth rinses can also causes yellow staining. Preventing Yellow Teeth: Avoiding smoking, coffee and soda helps prevent yellow teeth, or you can get into the habit of drinking those darker beverages through a straw. Drink milk or plain water after eating or drinking something acidic to help reduce the acid's eroding effect. Brushing and flossing also help, and avoiding snacks between meals allows your saliva to dilute the acids in your mouth too. Using over-the-counter whitening agents will also helps. Discolorations are generally responsive to bleaching procedures.

There are several things you can do to prevent a cold—they are all easy and inexpensive and worth the effort. Wash your hands often-with soap and warm water.The germs stick to the soap and get washed down the drain. Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. Cover Your Mouth and Nose When You Sneeze or Cough- Clean your hands every time you cough or sneeze. Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth-Germs are often spread when a person touches a contaminated surface and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. Stay Home When You’re Sick-Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, don’t smoke, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food so you can fend off viruses. Take healthy balanced boiled eggs.daily in breakfast .. Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. Routinely clean and disinfect common areas of your home. Treatment:There is a gradual 1-3 day onset of symptoms. It often starts out as a sore throat, then a fever and coughing. As the cold progresses, the nasal mucus may thicken which is the last stage before the cold dries up. A cold usually lasts for a week or two. But, taking good care of yourself at home can relieve symptoms and help prevent complications if you are otherwise healthy. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn’t need medical treatment. Complications include bacterial infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs which must be treated with antibiotics. In general you should: • get plenty of rest so your body can use its energy to fight the cold • staying at home will keep you from spreading germs • drink plenty of liquids like herbal tea or hot broth/vegetable/tomato soups. Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can keep you from getting enough sleep Runny Nose and Sneezing- if you have post nasal drip, gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. Drink extra fluids. (avoid sugary and high calorie drinks) Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation • Tablet Nasorest-P once/twice daily may reduce the amount of mucous. • Humidify the rooms you are in most or your whole house if possible. Cough-Coughing is how your body gets rid of debris and mucus from the airways during a viral infection. Unless your cough is severe or is keeping you from resting at night, it is better not to treat it. A severe cough can be treated with a cough syp, but don’t try to completely stop the cough. There are two types of coughs. Productive and non-productive or dry cough. Non-productive, dry cough. A dry, hacking cough may develop near the end of a cold. Dry coughs that follow viral colds are often worse at night and can last up to several weeks. Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough. Cough drops can sooth an irritated throat, but most don’t affect the cough. Productive cough. A productive cough is one that brings up mucus from the back of the throat or the lungs. Productive coughs should not be suppressed to the point they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. Drink lots of water if you have a productive cough. Head and Body Aches- Take tablet dolo-650 mg for fever once or twice daily

Do regular exercise take care what you eat. Your diet should be balanced in nutrients. Take lot of proteins through milk and milk products, pulses, legumes, beans, sprouts, eggs. Add lot of fresh fruits and vegetables in the cooked form or raw as a salad will help you. Do drink water at the starting of meal and start your meal with salad first that will fulfill you stomach so you won't feel very hungry.
