I am 49 years male feeling burning sensation since last 1 month when bladder is full and goes after urination specially during day time in seating position in office chair / bike. Urine route check pus cells 2-4 hpf & epthelial cells 1-2 hpf rest is nil. Taking nifti sr and renalika since last three days. Please advise and what is the cause for this & treatment? thanks.

Dear , likely causes for trouble and treatment are: 1. If you are not taking enough fluids orally the urine could be concentrated which if very irritant in nature so increase fluid intake. 2 if you are constipated and have fissure then it could give you same symptoms if so treat fissure and constipation. 3. another like cause is prostatitis for which you need to take antibiotics for 4-6 weeks but not nifti. Take oflofloxacin 2oo mg twice a day one hour before meals with water and no milk products or food 1 hour before and after the tablet, at the same time keep your sex life active which helps a lot in prostatitis.

You should follow these very important and simple things to prevent stone formation & to get sure treatment of kidney stones: 1. First take a lot of fluid daily. The more you drink water and fluid, the less amount of deposit accumulate in kidney. So you have to make your kidneys healthy just only by drinking 2-3 liters (10-12 glasses) of water. 2. Stones are mainly formed of calcium and oxalate. So take very low quantity of milk, cheese, cream and dairy products. 3. Do not take strawberry, plum, spinach and tomatoes. These fruits and vegetables are rich in oxalate. So avoid them to prevent from kidney stones. 3. Stop taking supplementary vitamin d and calcium medication. 4. Avoid animal protein diet- eggs, red meat, fish in diet. 5. Take less amount of salt, pickle and western foods. They have high amount of sodium. So avoid it. 6. Urinary infection are also one of the cause of stone. So take proper antibiotic treatment of urinary infection on time. Even when you feelburning sensation or pain during urination, don't avoid it. Take medication as soon as possible. I hope you follow them in your life andstay healthy. 7. You can take gokshur tablets of himalaya for 3 months. It definitely get relief from kidney stones.

How can a renal multiple kidney cyst be treated ?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath,
If the maximsum size of cysts is not more than 10mm then your cysts can be removed nonsurgically and homoeopathy is the answer. So go for homoeopathic treatment but for that I want you clear certain thing 1. Size of cysts 2. Left or righ or both kidneys 3. For how long are you carrying these cysts 4. What treatment are you presently taking 5. What are your present complaints 6. Any past or family history of kidney cysts.

I have got small stones in kidney. So what precautions should I take to get rid of stones.

MBBS
General Physician,
I have got small stones in kidney. So what precautions should I take to get rid of stones.
There are several medicines for dissolving stones but treatment depend on size type and cause of formation of stone. Prevention of renal stones also depend on type of stone. Also there are various diseases and drugs that can predispose to stone formation. A usg, complete metabolic panel and urine cytology and ph check up is needed in young aged patients. To prevent oxalate stones thats very commonly found you need to restrict oxalate rich foods like: peanuts, rhubarb, spinach, beets, chocolate and sweet potatoes. To prevent uric acid stones, cut down on high-purine foods such as red meat, organ meats, and shellfish, and follow a healthy diet that contains mostly vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy products. Limit sugar-sweetened foods and drinks, especially those that contain high fructose corn syrup. Limit alcohol because it can increase uric acid levels in the blood and avoid crash diets for the same reason. Eating less animal-based protein and eating more fruits and vegetables will help decrease urine acidity and this will help reduce the chance for stone formation. Take plenty of water also.

I am a rectum cancer patient. I underwent surgery and removed colon and rectum. The biopsy report says my cancer stage is T3N1. My doc advised me to eat low fiber foods. Hi lybrate-user. I appreciate you seeking help. Following is what you can include in a low fiber diet - (a) poultry - tender meat cuts, chicken (well cooked and soft), scrambled egg whites. (b) dairy - fresh yogurt, cottage cheese, custard, ice cream, soups etc all (c) breads & cereals - white breads, white rice, plain pasta or noodles (d) vegetables - fresh and well cooked tender vegetables without any seeds, skin, stems etc all. Vegetable soups and juices (without pulp) can be taken too. (e) fruits - small amount of soft cooked fruit without skin and seeds, clear fruit juice, well ripened banana in small amounts, (f) apart from the above-mentioned, he can have dark chocolates, mayonnaise, plain gravy, honey, jellies etc all too subject to his health condition foods that he needs to avoid are as follows - high fiber foods including peas, beans, lentils, legumes, nuts, processes meats, tough meats, brown rice, dried fruits, raisins, wheat germ, canola, coconut, bran, whole grains and whole wheat products, steamed vegetables, corn, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, potatoes with skin, berries, marmalades, pickles, potato chips, olives, horseradish, cucumber etc all are best avoided. The above-mentioned is subject to your consulting doc's concurrence too. He may have to drink lots of clear fluids unless advised otherwise by his doc. Your consulting medical oncologist can best advise on the next steps post surgery. However, an integrated therapy that extrapolates the best of conventional medicine and naturopathic/ alternative medicine to further treatment shall be a desirable approach to treat, going forward. You may connect with me should you require me to complement appropriately. Hope this helps. Take care and all the very best.

Causes and Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, Mch urology
Urologist, Bangalore
Causes and Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection

Infection caused in the kidneys, bladder, urethra or the ureters is known as urinary tract infection. According to doctors, women are generally more at risk of suffering from this condition than men.

Some of the causes which contribute to the development of this infection are:

  1. Invasion of bacteria: Like any other infection, one of the causes of urinary tract infection is the invasion of the bacteria Escherichia coli in the bladder. This type of bacteria is most commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract and is most often held responsible for urinary tract infection.
  2. Spreading of the bacteria from anus to urethra: The spread of the gastrointestinal bacteria from the anus to the urethra leads to the infection of the urethra thereby causing urinary tract infection.

Some of the symptoms of urinary tract infection are:

  1. A nagging urge to urinate: One of the most predominant symptoms of urinary tract infection is a persistent, nagging urge to urinate. You would know your urinary tract is infected when you feel the urgency to urinate extremely frequently.
  2. There is a burning sensation when you urinate: The symptoms of urinary infection are extremely visible and are felt intensely by the one suffering from it. If you feel a burning sensation while urinating, chances are extremely high that you are suffering from urinary tract infection.
  3. Red colored urine: Sometimes your urine may contain perceptible amount of blood in them. In most cases, presence of blood in urine is a definite sign of urinary tract infection.
  4. Foul smelled urine: An internal infection in the urinary tract manifests itself in different ways. One of the chief symptoms of this infection is discharging foul smelling urine.
  5. Pain in the pelvic area: Women who suffer from urinary tract infection experience excruciating pain near the pelvic area, sometimes extending to the pubic bone.

Colour of urine varies with food you eat or your daily fluid intake. When you sweat a lot your urine will be coloured deep yellow. If everything is normal. Then check if you have consistently yellow (high coloured) urine which may be the indication of jaundice. In that vase your white part of eye ball will turn yellow and you may have mild fever. Loss of appetite. Undue itching. Pale stool etc. You may consult a local physician if you have any of the above symptoms and signs.
