I m a 29 years old female. Married for 2 yrs. After one n half year I conceived it was after treatment for 6 months. But I miscarried. N now I have consulted another gync she has written for thyroid test rbs n cbc. And also suggested d&c. Nxt month and was saying abt laproscopy. I dnt want all this to happen. I even under went follicular study n my husbands semen analysis report is also normal. All reports up till now are normal. But post miscarriage my cycle became short i. E of 25 days. What do you suggest me.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
There is no need for D&C or even laparoscopy. If after miscarriage u did not get pregnant by one full year, then only u have to take treatment. Maximum u can do HSG to test the tubes, but only after 1 full year. In the first place u did not need any treatment to get pregnant for the first time as u r just 2 years into marriage now. U r definitely getting excessive treatment too soon.

Your married life is already 5 years so you both need to undergo some infertility tests like wife-hormonal evaluation and scan and hsg for tubal patency. Husband - seminal assay after all these reports you can start with infertility treatment.

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.

I am pregnant since 3 months. May I know why I am Suffering from severe back pain and foot pain? And what should be done for the recovery?

BHMS
Homeopath, Delhi
Hello lybrate-user, after first trimester bone started getting develop in fetus, so need to check your calcium amount as well as your vit d3, as it is essential for calcium absorption, deficiency of both may cause the backache and pain in legs .keep a track on folic acid and iron level too. Take omega 3 fatty acid supplements after consulting with your obstetrician. Maintain happiness and stress free atmosphere around you, which is more important for the growth of baby. You can take constitutional homoeopathic medicine too after consulting an expert. Which is safe and best for the baby's future health too. Thank you.

My wife has irregular period time. She has never come this period on time. Sometimes it comes at one month, sometimes 40 days, sometimes 45 days. Please give suggestions. And tell about medicines, which are useful in this problem.

MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Aurangabad
Irregular periods can be caused due to menstrual cycle disorders. They are very common and can be easily treated with medications. Every month the brain, ovaries & uterus follow a sequence of events to prepare the body for pregnancy. There are four major hormones which are at play here, the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), progesterone and estrogen. Menstrual cycle disorders occur from conditions that affect the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, ovaries, uterus, cervix, or vagina. You should also look out for other signs such as pregnancy, family history of irregular periods, Acne issues, hair on face or chest, gained weight recently, hot flashes, night sweats, frequent headaches, stress or taking any herbal medications. You should urgently see a doctor if you have been having irregular periods for more than three menstrual periods (either consecutively or over the course of a year). In physical exam, we will thoroughly check your reproductive organs and breast. Commonest test done are hemoglobin, iron studies, hormonal assays and ultrasound abdomen. Treatment is given depending upon the cause which can be found out after thorough examination by a Homoeopath, so visit your nearest Homoeopath today.

How To Obtain Correct Posture

Physiotherapist, Latur
How To Obtain Correct Posture

How do you suppose to sit?

  • Keep your feet on the floor or on a footrest, if they don't reach the floor.

  • Don't cross your legs. Your ankles should be in front of your knees.

  • Keep a small gap between the back of your knees and the front of your seat.

  • Your knees should be at or below the level of your hips.

  • Adjust the backrest of your chair to support your low- and mid-back or use a back support.

  • Relax your shoulders and keep your forearms parallel to the ground.

  • Avoid sitting in the same position for long periods of time.

How you should stand properly?

  • Bear your weight primarily on the balls of your feet.

  • Keep your knees slightly bent.

  • Keep your feet about shoulder-width apart.

  • Let your arms hang naturally down the sides of the body.

  • Stand straight and tall with your shoulders pulled backward.

  • Tuck your stomach in.

  • Keep your head level-your earlobes should be in line with your shoulders. Do not push your head forward, backward, or to the side.

  • Shift your weight from your toes to your heels, or one foot to the other, if you have to stand for a long time.

What is the proper lying position?

  1. Find the mattress that is right for you. While a firm mattress is generally recommended, some people find that softer mattresses reduce their back pain. Your comfort is important.

  2. Sleep with a pillow. Special pillows are available to help with postural problems resulting from a poor sleeping position.

  3. Avoid sleeping on your stomach.

  4. Sleeping on your side or back is more often helpful for back pain. If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your legs. If you sleep on your back, keep a pillow under your knees.

5 Great Tips For Getting Rid of Winter Phlegm

5 Great Tips For Getting Rid of Winter Phlegm

5 great tips for getting rid of winter phlegm

We all hate having snotty noses, sore throats, and winter bugs that inevitably get into our systems, as the weather turns colder, but have you ever considered that there might be easy ways to clear up all the phlegm that’s obstructing your airways and making life uncomfortable? worry no more – here are five solutions for you to get rid of any offending mucus build-up in your airways as soon as possible:

1. Spice up your diet

Adding spices to your diet doesn’t only boost your immune system – it also helps your body with clearing out all the nasty stuff, not least any congestion in your nasal passages in your lungs. Add small amounts of garlic, oregano, turmeric, onions, and ginger, to your regular diet. Seeing as christmas is just around the corner, you can also try spicing some apple sauce with cloves, nutmeg or cinnamon.

All the foods i’ve just mentioned contain strong antibacterial properties, which help keep the winter bugs well away. If you have children, you might want to consider temporarily cutting out dairy from their diet and giving them multivitamins or immune boosters for a few days until the phlegm clears up.

2. Sleep well

Note that a blocked nose is always much worse at night-time, making it difficult to breathe and causing you to snore. Consider a saline spray and/or nose aspirators in order to keep your airways clear of phlegm. Another soothing way of clearing your airways is to inhale steam from a bowl of boiling water. You could even add a warm bath at the end of the day to your routine if you find that you’re consistently congested.

3. Get loads of fresh air

The colder air of the winter months tends to make all of us spend a lot more time indoors, but the reality is that for the sake of our health, we still need to ensure we get enough fresh air. Regardless of how cold it is outside, you’ll be fine if you wrap up in suitably warm clothing. In fact, taking a brisk walk is one of the best ways of drying out mucus and phlegm.

Fresh air opens up your lungs and increases blood flow, and this means that any bugs lurking in your system can be flushed out much more quickly than if you were to spend nine hours a day indoors.

4. Keep your bowels moving!

Many people don’t actually realize this, but constipation can hinder your immune function, thus leaving you more susceptible to illness. The usual cause of a sluggish digestive system is food stagnating in the intestines, which in turn can lead to toxic build-up, poor elimination and increased mucus formation.

These symptoms can be alleviated by drinking more water and eating foods which contain plenty of natural fiber, such as seasonal greens and fresh fruit.

5. Make your own phlegm-busting cordial

Here's how:

1. Place a few sprigs of thyme in a teapot.

2. Add a pint of boiling water.

3. Throw in a few sticks of cinnamon bark and several slices of freshly-chopped ginger.

4. Leave to infuse for about 10-15 minutes.

5. Once the water has cooled, strain and mix with a jar of good-quality honey.

6. Add roughly half a bag of brown sugar.

7. Heat the mixture in a saucepan until it begins to thicken.

8. Leave the resulting syrup to cool and store in the refrigerator.

Take a teaspoon of this syrup every morning, or add it to warm water infused with lemon juice for a delicious bedtime drink.

Period which you got on 2/3/16 are menses and it came after the act. Menses have come for less days bcos of ipill. As you already got menses after the act you can not be pregnant, there is no need to do urine test. And also sperms can not travel through clothes so with the act you described, you can not get pregnant.

Normal Menstrual Cycles & Lengths In general, a woman can expect to have 11 to 13 menstrual periods every year. That is, if you have a regular menstrual cycle that runs like clockwork, month after month. An average period can last anywhere from three to five days; it can be shorter or longer than this, but it’s typically no longer than 7 days or a week. A textbook menstrual cycle is 28 days (from one period to the next; this is the average length of a period or menstrual cycle). However, it is very common for adult women to have menstrual cycles that range anywhere 21 to 35 days. Teenagers – keep in mind that the first couple of years after your period starts, it’s normal to have long cycles (longer than 35 days). In adolescents and teenagers, a menstrual cycle can range anywhere between 21 and 45 days and still be considered normal. there are several reasons for delayed menstruatuion like hormonal imbalances pcod thyroid severe stress depression apeetite and many other conditions........... BROWN DISCHARGE?: In the vast majority of cases, a brown vaginal discharge is nothing to worry about. ... Caused by an enlargement of the ovaries, PCOS can cause brown period blood or brown spotting before period bleeding occurs because a small amount of fluid is leaked form the follicles of the ovary sometime during the cycle. CERVICAL POLYPS.......... BIRTH CONTROL PILLS......... PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE CHLAMYDIA GONORRHEA......... BUT6 MOST OF THE TIMES BROWN DISCHARGE IS NORMAL..... NO NEEED TO WORRY..................

Menses can get delayed after taking the pill or with stress or hormonal changes also. As your test is already negative keep repeating it every week till you get menses. Even faint second line is also positive and you have to read the reports within 5 min of putting urine. Also use good company card like velocit card to avoid mistakes bcos of card.
