If I take unwanted 72 when period it will start and how many days it'll take to recover this process?

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy

It may be irregular at times and delayed by a few days. However if it is delayed by more than 2 weeks of your expected date I would advice you to do a urine pregnancy test.

Dear, do not be stressed. There might be a chance of a missed abortion. Please undergo a proper ultrasound (not tvs) doctor has prescribed progesterone considering the possibility that you may have conceived and progesterone will help in retaining the embryo. Nevertheless ultrasound will give a clear picture. Best of luck.

Diabetes During Pregnancy - Know The Best Ways To Control It!

Diabetes During Pregnancy - Know The Best Ways To Control It!

Pregnancy brings with it a set of challenges, and for a diabetic woman, these only increase further. Earlier, the risks of dealing with pregnancy and diabetes as a combination were too high. However, over the last few decades, things have changed. The age at which women are choosing to have a baby has gone up. On the other hand, the age of onset of diabetes has come down drastically.
These days, there are many diabetic women who go through pregnancy smoothly without major complications. Of course, there is extra care and precaution required, but it is not something that cannot be planned and managed well between the doctor and the mother-to-be.

The following are some rough guidelines for a pregnant diabetic woman.
Potential complications

  1. It increases the risk of polycystic ovaries, thereby making it difficult to conceive.
  2. Fluctuating sugar levels can be a reason for not being able to conceive, as the body does not see itself as healthy.
  3. It increased the chances of miscarriage.
  4. There are higher chances of birth defects in the developing baby due to very high sugar levels in the first trimester.

Preparation
If you are planning for a pregnancy, meet with your doctor to review your sugar levels. Chalk out a plan with your doctor, taking into account your diet and nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and medications.

  1. Diet: Ensure you cautiously decide what and how to eat ahead of your pregnancy. Moving away from refined carbohydrates and processed foods towards wholesome food items like whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables will make a difference.
  2. Exercise: Build an exercise routine to suit your body and keep yourself active. It is very important to stay active so that diabetes is under control.
  3. Lifestyle: Quit smoking and reduce alcohol use. This helps in managing stress also, which can help keep diabetes under check.
  4. Medications: Check with your doctor on the medicines you are taking and if dose adjustments are required to get sugar levels under control, plan them out.

During pregnancy, constant monitoring and vigilance is required to ensure diabetes is under control.

  1. Let your gynecologist know about your condition (stable/fluctuating), and if you are doubtful about them being able to handle your condition, do not hesitate to change.
  2. Many consider switching to oral medications as the risk of transmission to the baby is less and the control over sugar levels is better.
  3. Constant monitoring for daily blood sugars is essential.
  4. A regular, healthy lifestyle in terms of eating and sleeping should help keep the sugars under check.
  5. Constant monitoring of the baby is essential to ensure its normal growth with no developmental defects. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

If the girl had regular normal periods, it is less likely to be a pregnancy. (exception is an ectopic pregnancy in which case the female may get spotting instead of the regular periods)

Mam mujhe her mahine period nhi aate hai. Please iske liye koi medicine ho to btaiye.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Hello Ms. Lybrate-user causes for irregular periods stress stress, either emotional or physical, can delay your period. A new job, illness, depression, exam, fever, strenuous exercises or a weight gain or loss are some of the reasons that can increase your stress levels and affect your periods. Once you make some changes to alleviate your stress, you could become regular again. Improper eating habits improper eating can affect your hormones like estrogen and cause them to be very high (when you are overweight) or very low (in eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia). Improper production or levels of these hormones can interfere with your menstrual cycle and make them more sporadic and irregular. In this case, you may have delayed periods. Hormonal imbalance if you have hormonal imbalance which can affect your cycles. If you have recently stopped your birth control pill or are having thyroid trouble, you could have hormonal imbalance. Any problems with your hormone production centers like ovaries, adrenal or pituitary glands could also cause a delay in your period. Excessive exercise strenuous and over exercising can cause a dip in the total body fat, which can interfere with your hormonal levels, further affecting your periods. The body requires some amount of fat for ovulation and excessive exercises can hamper the equation drastically. However do not stop exercising completely, only do it moderately. Too much alcohol indulging in high amounts of alcohol can lead to increased estrogen and testosterone levels in the body, which plays havoc with the normal hormonal levels. Thyroid disorders thyroid disorders that lead to high or low hormonal production definitely can! you could either not ovulate at all or have a very weak ovulation cycle due to the disrupted levels of hormones, which can delay your periods or make them irregular. An infection bacterial infections, sexually transmitted diseases or pelvic inflammation can cause the uterus to become inflamed and result in bleeding. This could lead to a false alarm and make your body think that you are having your periods. However, if you notice pain, fever or vomiting along with bleeding, visit your doctor. Polycystic ovarian syndrome you may suffer from pcos or polycystic ovarian syndrome if your body produces excessive androgens or male hormones. Higher levels of androgens interfere with the normal function of the ovaries, leading to immature follicle formation. This does not allow you to ovulate normally and your cycles could be irregular or delayed. Try to rule out the above cause by primary health check up and investigations. Try to be in relaxed and positive attitude is very important. Hello, In absence of pregnancy menses can be delayed due to either PCOD, hypothyroidism or hyperprolactinemia. So she needs to be investigated for the above.

I want to have my 1st sex with my boyfriend. I am really afraid about the pain of 1st penetration. I am thinking, if I take any sex pill for much excitement. Will it be ok to take such medicine for 1st sex. ? Or tell me anything should I take any measures for a better way to take it easy.

MBBS

No need to take any sex pill. Do foreplay for long time and during penetration of penis, keep your feet above bed that in the air to avoid contraction of pelvic muscles which can hinder penetration.

I am suffering from two uterine fibroid of 5 cm each. Is this possible to remove fibroids by laproscopic surgery. I have no child also.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FMAS, DMAS

If your concern is pregnancy then ideally fibroid surgery can only make the uterine wall weaker and should be considered only if there has been heavy bleeding and menorrhagia. Please send the USG reports for purview and analysing the location of fibroid.

Hi, I am got pregnant of 20 days, but I want to do abortion as early as possible, so what will be solution?

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), DGO, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Hyderabad
Hi you can do abortion. First of all you do one usg scan for early pregnancy to see the location of pregnancy, weather its intra uterine or extra uterine. If its shows that its intra uterine pregnancy than you have to take mtp kit. Its total 5 tablets course 1+4, after that you will experienced bleeding which will continue for 7-10 days. In 95% case mtp kit is successful and you will abort completely. After 10 days you have to do repeat usg pelvis to see weather you had aborted completely or not. This is the solution for your conern. Thanks.

Dear lybrate user. I do understand. Menstruation is a cycle. The first day is the day in which bleeding is seen. Bleeding happens because of the disintegration of unfertilized egg. Safe sex can be up to 10 days from fday 1 and before 7 days of the next day 1. I suggest you read many articles available online. Take care.

I am a 31 years old male and my wife is of 30 yrs. We are expecting a baby in jan end. I want to know that should we do sex during this period as many Dr. say that it is not good for the baby to do sex. Also tell me the ways how we can control ourselves so that we don't get intimate. please explain in detail the advantages and disadvantages of doing sex. Also advise that up to what period we should not do sex after baby birth.

PG Diploma in Emergency Medicine Services (PGDEMS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Alternate Medicine
Ayurveda, Ghaziabad
Your developing baby is protected by the amniotic fluid in your uterus, as well as the strong muscles of the uterus itself. Sexual activity won't affect your baby. So it is completely safe to sex during pregnancy. But during first trimester sometimes there is risk of miscarriage because of intercourse and excessive body movement so try to avoid sex during first trimester.

7th month is going on of pregnancy. And the hole of vagina is small so during normal labor how it become easy.

MBBS, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

The vagina hole doesnt matter, as it expands as an elastic organ. It is the bony structure which is non changeable, so a pre delivery pelvis assesment is what is important.
