You are in peri menopausal age. Menopause is said to have started of one does not have menses for 1 year. Menopause means that the ovaries in your body have ceased to produce the ovum and has been depleted of it. Usually when ovum is produced, another hormone called estrogen is also released. Lack of ovulation means lack of estrogen. This deficiency of estrogens causes the various symptoms that you are suffering. It is good that you are going to gym. Your weight of 76 kg is excess for your height of 160cm meet a gynecologist and take her help in solving your bloated feeling. She may prescribe some medicines depending on your assessment and help you. Natural food which help in perimenopause are soyabeans which have naturla estrogens. I am having gallstone problem for the past 4 yrs. My stone size is 7 to 8 mm. Is there any medicine that you suggest, please,

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I am having gallstone problem for the past 4 yrs. My stone size is 7 to 8 mm. Is there any medicine that you suggest,...
You need to take medicines that can help in removing them naturally such as our medicines combination of herbal and homeo that will help in removing stones. Gall bladder gets diseased due to an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. This leads to an imbalance of the acid-alkali balance in the body which causes the cholesterol to precipitate in the gall bladder leading to stone formation. Over time, these may get infected and lead to an acute inflammation, pain, fever etc. A stone may move ahead into a narrow passage or the duct and get stuck leading to severe agony. The safest and way that should be used to remove gallstones is removing it naturally, not just remove gallstones from gallbladder but also remove the cause of gallstones.

Is fistula a permanent problem or is there a permanent cure for that problem

FELLOWSHIP IN ADVANCED LIVER SURGERY AND LIVER TRANSPLANTATION, FELLOWSHIP IN HEPATOBILIARY AND LIVER TRANSPLANT SURGERY, MASTER OF SURGERY, MBBS
Gastroenterologist,
Which type of fistula you are talking about. I assume it is the fistula around perianal region. In that region if complete removal of the fistula tract is advised. By this surgery chances of re occurring of fistula are less.

Types Of Ulcerative Colitis Surgery

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, Fellowship in Laparoscopic and Robotic Onco-Surgery, Fellowship in bariatric surgery, F.I.A.G.E.S
General Surgeon, Delhi
Types Of Ulcerative Colitis Surgery

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition whereby, tiny abscesses and ulcers are formed on the inner lining of the large intestine, or on the colon or rectum. These ulcers may burst frequently resulting in diarrhea and bloody stools. This disease may also be responsible for causing anemia as well as harsh abdominal pain.

Ulcerative colitis normally alternate periodically from flaring up to receding quickly. These periods of remission can either last for weeks or maybe, even for years at a stretch. They are, however, not permanent and although the disease may seem to have disappeared completely, it can soon show up again in no time. Usually beginning in the rectum, it can, by and by, spread rapidly to other parts of the colon. If it is, however, limited only to the rectum, then it is more commonly referred to as ulcerative proctitis.

Surgery is generally obligatory and mandatory when it comes to treating ulcerative colitis. If surgery is not performed, you may suffer from long-lasting side effects, including cancer and colon rupture. Here are the different types of surgery that you may undergo:

  1. Colectomy: This is done when the entire colon needs to be removed and is usually performed to eliminate the perils of acquiring colon cancer.
  2. Proctocolectomy: This concerns the total removal of both colon and rectum and is usually the standard procedure when dealing with ulcerative colitis.
  3. Ileal Pouch Anal Anastomosis: If the treatment does not require a permanent stoma, and if you can still manage to let out stool from your anus, then this surgery, also called restorative proctocolectomy would be most appropriate.

Here, both colon and rectum are removed, but at the same time, the small intestine is utilized to form an internal reservoir, called a J-pouch, which is linked to the anus and can hereafter serve as your new rectum.

I am 60 years old and suffering from amoebiasis for the last ten years. In stool there is mucous and some time blood also. Otherwise I am ok. Kindly suggest.

MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Pune
Amoebiasis is a parasitic infection. Stool exam may reveal presence of ameba cyst. Its a completely curable illlness with a course of a set of antibiotics. If you are getting the symptoms even after the full course of medicines, you either have reacquired the illness due to contamination of food and water or you have some other illness than amebiasis. Its not difficult ti differentiate or find out those other illnesses. Colonoscopy with or without biopsy will help you. In my practice I have seen villous polyps causing similar problems. Please meet your doctor armed with this new information.
