Hello sir I am sugar patient so kindly he me Approx two months sugar I actual help you depend.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Looking at your age you must be having t1 dm, which needs insulin injections to control blood sugar. I am sure you have already started the necessary treatment. Apart from that you need to monitor blood sugar almost daily so that dose of insulin is adjusted as well as blood sugar is also brought under control. So you will have to be under a constant care of a good local phsician or a diabetologist. Plus you have to avoid sweets, deep fried foods, sweetened aerated drinks, junk foods and pastries. Also exercise regularly to keep sugar levels in control.

My father is suffering from diabetes. What is the common diet for diabetes patient to maintain healthy life style.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr. Lybrate-user, a person with diabetes has to take a balanced diet. That should contain complex carbohydrates like whole grain flour made item, proteins from various sources like dairy products, eggs, poultry, fishes and lean meat, (for a vegetarian main sources are milk products, pulses and eggs if allowed) and fats particularly unsaturated and mono unsaturated ones. Avoid trans fats or saturated fats particularly seen in deep fried foods. It is better to use 2 or 3 different types of oils. Specific diet plan has to be based on individual patients weight, height, extent of exercise and blood sugar levels.

high cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain. Take anti cholesterol medicines .
