To remove the swelling apply ice firmly and slowly over the affected area as it will reduce the inflammation and swelling. And perform some ankle exercises. If pain occurs while moving ankle go for proper investigation to rule out the exact cause.

Regular-size condoms will be fine for most men.

It’s important, though, to find a condom that fits well and that’s not too short, too tight, or too big.

A condom can only protect what’s covered. One that’s too short could allow diseases to be passed on. A condom that’s too big could slip in the heat of the moment.

What’s right for you? If you or your partner measures more than 7 inches long or is more than 4½ to 5 inches around, you may need a larger size.

She is a great human being and emotional person as other people are but with few exceptions. When someone (me or anyone) speaks to her and her point of view is declined or rejected, she gets hyper - high voice pitch with aggressive body language. I feel she feels that to defend her point till she fights will make everyone agree. In restaurant or public place, if I don't agree with her, she will raise her voice. While watching little but not highly emotional scene, she will have rolling tears. In friends, while having discussion, if debate happens that ends in crying or shouting. I can try two ways - changing myself and trying to control the situations or treating her somehow. But what about her reactions with outside people! Her hands start pointing or banging doors and sitting in the room. Also, when she is happy - she claps and laughs in front of strangers or people we just met. I am planning for a baby and want to know what are solutions without medications This is cultural for her to speak loud in her native place but not in our society and how I put across the point to make her agree. On personal front ,I have some problems like I smoke but outside balcony or toilet after her restrictions, but I feel I also add up by putting clothes anywhere, plates not back in kitchen which makes her angry. I appreciate your honest and elaborate putting forth of the problems. I believe your wife has PMDD which is premenstrual dysphoric disorder which is present in about 5-8 out of 100 women of menstruating age group. I think she does need to undergo a detailed investigation for the same along with a consultation with a psychiatrist for help with medications. With regards to her behavior, I think she does fit into a personality spectrum if not a disorder and certainly needs therapy in the form of counseling. If the counseling psychologist thinks that she needs to get treated for a psychiatric condition, I believe we can help her with medications as psychiatrists. I am sure if it is a problem in all situations and not just with you, it certainly calls for treatment medically. A combination of therapy including medications and counseling is probably more beneficial than medications alone. Look forward to hearing from you. If you need help with booking an appointment online with me on this website either text, audio or video appointment for a confidential and private consultation you may do so by contacting the help desk of Lybrate.

I have pimples on my face along with scars. please give me the suggestions for that?
These are the methods to treat fastly pimples: • Imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

What is the Best way to rid out of the stone pain? Operation or any other treatment?
Thx for the query. It's not clear you want to know abt gall bladder stone or stone of urinary tract. For gall bladder stone, you need surgery. Gall bladder removal. For urinary tract stones. The treatment depends on the size of the stone and the location. It might need surgery if stone is big in size. If small, only medications and plenty of liquids orally may be required. Hope this answer helps you.

Hello Oily skin is more prone to pimples as the pores get clogged with dirt. So washing the face with green gram powder or gram flour will help to remove the excess oil in the face. Ayurvedic medicines like Divya Mahamanjishtharistham, Triphala churnam and Chirata Capsules will be beneficial to cleanse and purify the blood. Include ginger, cumin, coriander leaves, buttermilk, fiber and fenugreek. Reduce excess fried foods, refined flour, canned foods, spicy food, carbonated beverages, sugar, salt and processed foods. Try to eat healthy, exercise regularly, drink enough water and sleep well for a healthy skin. Please feel free to contact me for further queries. Regards

How does exercise affect my blood pressure? And What's my daily sodium (or salt) limit?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
How does exercise affect my blood pressure? And What's my daily sodium (or salt) limit?
Brisk exercise increases BP in the start but after finishing BP slowly comes to normal. That is why a Hypertensive patient should not start brisk exercise in the starting few days.Let the BP comes to normal with medicines and then go for brisk exercises but for the time when BP is high just have a control on your diet along with medicines and just go for a normal morning or evening walks so that your daily routine is not broken. But once your BP starts coming to normal start doing Cardiovascular and Aerobic exercises which include walking, jogging, jumping rope, bicycling (stationary or outdoor), cross-country skiing, skating, rowing, high- or low-impact aerobics, swimming, and water aerobics. According yo WHO recommendations we shoul take 5 gm of salt/day but average indian consumption is 9 gm/day and if we reduce this average to 5 gm/day, we can reduce incidents of stroke by 25% and heart attacks by 10%.

Tips to Control Allergy Driven Wheezing this Season

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine), Certified in Evidence Based Diabetes Management, MNAMS, MRCP (UK)
Internal Medicine Specialist, Kolkata
Tips to Control Allergy Driven Wheezing this Season

Seasonal changes can be very exciting for most people. Each season brings with it a new set of colours and nature takes a new turn. However, for people with seasonal allergies, a seasonal change also comes with a set of allergies. From skin rashes to wheezing to breathing difficulties, the list of symptoms can be quite long. Asthma is the most common problem, and the attacks can be quite bothersome with wheezing attacks and breathing troubles.

With advancements in the field of medicine, there is a lot of relief for asthma patients. A little understanding on how asthma attacks happen will help in understanding how to control it. Asthma is an allergic reaction caused by narrowing of the airway with thick mucus, which makes breathing difficult. During an attack, the person can have a dry cough, face shortness of breath and wheezing.

Asthma is often triggered or worsened by some factors, and being aware of these can help prevent or manage an attack:

  1. Common allergens like pollen, mites, ticks, furs of animals, bird feathers, specific foods (peanuts, milk products, eggs, etc.) and mold spores appear during change of season.
  2. Environmental chemicals like cigarette smoke, car fumes, dust, etc., can also trigger an attack.
  3. Attacks of cold or flu can lead to an asthma attack.
  4. Workout during cold weather can be problematic, but exercise can also help control asthma attacks. Lung function improves sufficiently, but an exercise regime should be drawn up for the patient based on his condition.
  5. Stressful emotions like anger and anxiety can also lead to an attack or make it worse.
  6. Some medications like aspirin, beta blockers, glaucoma drops can aggravate attacks of asthma.

Once you know the triggers, here are some common measures that can help prevent and relieve the wheezing.

  1. The preventers reduce the inflammation in the airway tube and the swelling. While they do not provide immediate relief during an attack, using these in the long term helps avoid attacks. These are low-dose inhaled corticosteroids such as beclomethasone, fluticasone, and budesonide. Doctors would advise their usage even when there are no symptoms, as asthma attacks can be triggered when they are not taking these medications for a while. Newer drugs include leukotriene antagonists like montelukast and zafirlukast. Relievers are used for symptom relief and include Salbutamol (short acting) and Salmeterol/Formoterol (long acting). Peak flow meter may be useful in acute attacks, wherein the peak flow rates can be reduced.

A good strategy is to use preventers regularly and rely on relievers during an attack. The first one helps build resistance and so reduces the incidence of attacks. Reach out to a doctor if a severe attack ensues (lasts more than 3 hours).

I've taken i-pill within 24 hours of sex. It's been 4 days now but I see thick white fluid discharging, though I don't have any irritation during urination. Is this the effect of pill and that it's normal or a symptom of pregnancy although I've taken the pill?

Emergency pill is effective in most cases if taken within 72 hours of intercourse, Since you have taken it within 24 hours, you wont get pregnant.
