Yes you need to tale multivitamin .Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally. If your diabetes is type 1 also known as insulin dependent diabetes then you have to take insulin. But if type 2 also known as maturity onset diabetes then you first try to find out why insulin was started. Discuss with your doctor, can it be stopped.

What are the normal values of blood sugar? Is a person with 130-140 on fasting, a diabetic? Is it safe to take honey with lime in the morning if your blood sugar is 130-140? Is it safe to take almond oil with warm milk?

What are the normal values of blood sugar? Is a person with 130-140 on fasting, a diabetic? Is it safe to take honey ...
Hello, madam, fasting blood sugar value >126 mg is considered as diabetes. So 130 to 140 mg is a confirmed case of diabetes mellitus. In a diabetes patient sweets are not advisable including honey. But if the quantity is small like 10 to 15 ml in a day may be taken. Honey contains fructose, which has a different metabolic pathway than glucose. But is larger quantity it is harmful. Almonds are good about 5 to 8 of them per day either alone or with milk is fine. Milk should be skimmed one. Most important is blood sugar levels should be fasting closer to 100 mg and pp 150 to 160 and hba1c% <7.

This common ailment often happens because you swallow more air than usual, overeat, smoke, chew gum, or eat foods that cause gas. Flatulence can be embarrassing and painful for anyone, but don’t worry You easily reduce flatulence with diet and lifestyle choices. Have smaller meals throughout the day. Eat six small meals per day instead of three large meals. Your system may more easily digest fewer meals and produce less gas from them Eat easily digestible carbs. Foods that contain simple carbohydrates may be easier for you to digest Avoid gas-promoting foods. Plan your meals each day to include easily digestible carbs. Steer clear of food choices that may make create gas in your intestines. Find suitable replacements for the following gas-promoting foods Beans and lentils. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. Bran. Dairy products containing lactose. Fruit such as apples and pears. Sorbitol, a sugar substitute found in some sugar-free products. Fatty junk foods, like fast food burgers or pizza. Chew your meal slowly. If you're famished or you're a fast eater, avoid the temptation to shovel your food into your mouth. Chew each meal slowly so you don’t swallow too much air. Doing this can aid digestion and may minimize the production of gas. Get regular exercise. Physical activity can help your intestines expel gas and stay regular. Exercise for at least 30 minutes most days of the week. If you are unable to do 30 minutes, aim for 2 15-minute sessions of physical movement, which can also ease flatulence. Try different kinds of exercise to prevent flatulence: Running Walking Biking Swimming Yoga For medication consult online in private.

Every diabetic should get heart, eyes, kidneys tested regularly. Good to know that heart tests are normal. Do not give sleeping tablets which can be addictive like alprazolam. Give her a tablet of valium 5 mg but do tell your doctor about it,

It is better that you get your Hba1c level done and this will give you a better idea where you stand. Also, I would like to know if any of your parents is a diabetic, get your lipid profile checked and also check your blood pressure. Once you report with these details, we can guide you better, Keep in mind that a small dose of anti diabetic medication could be preferred.
