Goog Evening Madam, I have sugar ,my feet flow why reason madam.
Fasting 100 posting 195.
I understand you mean to say that you feel tingling sensation in your feet. it is usually caused due to uncontrolled or fluctuating blood sugar levels. post lunch of 195 is high, it should be below 150. also the hba1c level should be less than 7 %. you might need a change in medicines for the same. secondly, avoid smoking/tobacco intake.

I am not sure who got you hooked onto sleeping pills. On a longer run they will shrink your brain, resulting in early onset dementia, personality changes, memory changes, even withdrawal seizures. Kindly consult a psychiatrist, get your sleep evaluated, and he will gradually wane you off the sleeping pills and give pills which promote sleep by acting on the cause of sleep disturbance, he may also educate you on sleep hyigiene.

I am a thyroid disease boy. I am eating 25 mg thyroxine tablet daily. How should I get rid of my disease. I m eating tablet since 6 years.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

Mr Saurav, Hypothyroidism, is a thyroxine hormone deficiency condition, where thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone. This is an important hormone required for development and functioning of brain, plus most of the other important metabolic activities of the body. So it has to be supplemented from outside as thyroxine tablets. This has to on for Life Time. There is no option.

To treat diabetes one has to either take insulin injections or oral antidiabetic drugs. The choice of medication will depend upon blood sugar levels and hba1c%. Apart from medication one has to control the diet and exercise regularly for more than 1 h a day. Please remember the treatment is for life time, there is no cure.

Blood donation guidelines for thyroid & autoimmune diseases

Hypothyroid patients who are taking levothyroxine (i.e, Synthroid), Cytomel, Thyrolar, or natural thyroid products like Armour and are in the normal thyroid range can give blood if they don't have any other precluding conditions.

Graves' disease or hyperthyroidism patients who are on antithyroid medicines, or who are not currently in normal thyroid range, cannot give blood.

Anyone with any other autoimmune disease should not give blood, unless they are asymptomatic and off all medications for one month.

In thyroid patients, and some of the more common autoimmune disease, you specifically should NOT give blood if you have:

Addison's Disease
Adrenal Disorders
Sinus or respiratory infections, colds or flu symptoms
Rheumatoid Arthritis, if you're on steroids or immunosuppressive drugs
Lupus, unless asymptomatic, and off all medication for at least a month
Multiple sclerosis

Also, you can't give blood if you:

Have ever used illegal intravenous drugs, even once
Are a man who has had sex with another man since 1977, even once
Are a hemophiliac
Have had a positive HIV test
Have had hepatitis any time after your eleventh birthday
Have had cancer (except localized skin cancer)
Have had a heart attack or stroke
Have taken Tegison for psoriasis

My mother age was 45 and she is an diabetes and bp too. Is there any problem occur in her sex life. My father was refuses her in participating sex. When she got diabetes. Please reply me.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Diabetes is not a problem in having sex. What are the medicines she is taking, I can help her, it is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch.

Urine sugar is NOT a reliable method of diagnosing or managing Diabetes. There are many non-diabetic people with normal blood sugars, but showing sugar in the urine. Conversely, there are diabetics with very high blood sugars but absolutely no sugar in the urine.
The best way of diagnosing diabetes is by doing FBS, 2 hour PPBS and HbA1c.

My TSH level was around 7 about 2 years back. I was advised to take Thyroxine /Eltroxin 50 mg tablet. Recent test shows it has gone down to 0, 29 level which is below the normal level. Please advice whether I should continue with the tablet? What other measures suggested.

Tsh coming to lower levels is good. But depending upode t4 and t3 levels thyroxine does may have to be decreased one step down. But please do not stop talking your medications by yourself. Complete thyroid profile will help in deciding next step.

It controls when I take mixtard (morning 13u nd night 15u) and actrapid 13u in noon with lantus 10u. I'm afraid of using three different types of insulin.
