Hi,your height can grow till 25 years of age. If you haven't yet reached the age, you may try the following remedies - 1. Take flax seed powder - 1 tablespoon after lunch and dinner with warm water. 2. Take lakshadi guggul - 2 tablets, twice a day. 3. Take ashwgandha churna - 1 tablespoon with milk at 6.30 pm. Also follow these exercises daily - 1. Swimming 2. Skipping 3. Pull-ups 4. Suryanamaskar.

Hi, Take medicine RITE-HITE (SBL) 4tabs to be chewed twice a day ,1/2 an hour before meals. Do pranayam,Suryanamaskar daily. Hi, have you undergone diagnosis from any doctor for it being fungal infection only? also whatever the diagnosis, but if it is leading to so much itching so as to make it bleed, it is better to undergo medical intervention. Internal curative treatment will be better than local application alone if you want to root it out completely, homeopathy can eliminate it completely. Meanwhile you can take certain measures like washing your scalp with some mild anti-dandruff shampoo 2-3 times. Week, oiling one night before wash and not keeping the oil on scalp for very long. Having balanced diet like including fruits and ample amount of salads in your diet, avoiding excessive non-vegetarian food and keeping away from junk and fried food more. Stress may be one of the reason for this problem so understanding it and balancing it by pranayam and meditation will also help.

Hello, Gaining weight is a slow process which requires patience and dedication! It not only depends upon the amount of food you consume daily, but also about eating Sensibly, depends upon your genes, your body's proper metabolism, assimilation and absorption, the levels of stress/ tension in your life, and any underlying medical condition you have! The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points (if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. Both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 3 months. Revert.

Im having huge amount of hairfall. I know maximum 100strands of hair falls normally in a day but this amount of hairfall has almost reduced my hair volume by nearly 50%. I have an oily scalp very oily actually so I have to wash my hair almost everyday and hair ends in dry n frizzy. Dear lybrate user avoid shampoos and perfumed oils use shika powder for hair wash and pure oils for massaging also eat protein rich diet also more vegetables and whole fruits ,drink plenty of water ,since hairfall depends on many internal causes from hormones to genes it needs a internal constitutional treatment for cure

Do You Have the Obesity Gene?

Obesity is a global epidemic, affecting almost all areas of human health, from heart disease to cancer, and impacting upon most of the major causes of preventable death. However, in recent years, obesity has increased dramatically in many parts of the world with India ranking third in the world’s most obese countries. Although diet and lifestyle choices play a big role, obesity might be in your genes, according to a recent study.

With over 50% of obesity being attributed to genetics, obesity can be an inherited condition. We inherit a lot more from our parents and grand-parents than our skin, hair colour and intelligence, but also predisposition to conditions such as obesity. Understanding one’s genetic profile can help individuals understand their body type and tailor their diets to foods best suited to them.

The obesity gene – FTO

The FTO gene, commonly called the obese gene is a major contributor to obesity in individuals. One version of this gene makes impulse control difficult, affecting your food choice and makes it difficult to maintain a healthy weight. Several other genes such as MC4R, INSIG, TCF7L2, LEP, IRS, have also been found to contribute to obesity. While genes do play some role in causing a predisposition to obesity, they are not entirely to blame. According to a study published by Harvard School of Public Health, ‘Active adults who carried the obesity-promoting gene had a 30 percent lower risk of obesity than inactive adults who carried the gene’. In addition to genetics, there are several factors that play a role – unhealthy lifestyles, diet inadequate in nutrients but rich in calories, higher stress levels, physical inactivity, rise in conditions such as diabetes, hormonal imbalances, in fertility etc. 

Genetic tests are available nowadays to tell you what type of genes that you carry and your susceptibility to obesity. Personalised weight management programs are more effective than one size fits all approach that provides generic advice.

Simple dietary modifications can help you to overcome risks of gaining weight that might be caused due to your obesity genes:

  1. Drink 1 glass of water before every meal that you consume. This helps you to make you feel full and eat less.
  2. Slow paced eating (20-25 minutes) helps you to feel full and also aids in digestion.
  3. Protein rich breakfast such as two egg whites or 1 cup of pulses will help you to maintain your satiety.
  4. High fibre diet (at least 3-4 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruits) will help you to lose weight.
  5. Adding a variety to your diet will also help you to lose weight.

Numbness may be because of peripheral neuropathy or vascular compromise. The cause of peripheral neuropathy may be deranged blood sugar. Take multivitamin like neurokind plus. Get your blood sugar and colour doppler of lower limbs done. You may consult a physician for detailed physical examination and management.

Hello, your pain seems to be muscular and as you are saying that you drive bike daily so if possible you can take break from drive and can travel in bus/ metro till your pain subside 1. You can apply volini gel 1% local application twice a day for 3-5 days 2. Hot fomentation twice a day for 3 days 3. You can do very gentle massage with olive/ castor oil consult Physician/ me for further management

Hi, Headache could be because of various reasons. Your headache could be due to stress/fatigue/tension or it could be an indication to another type of headache called migraine. Since the exact cause of your headache and symptoms are not known, I would advise the following - 1. Try to take adequate rest. 2. Distract yourself from TV/ Computer or anything that puts a pressure on your eyes and head. 3. Keep yourself stress free. 4. Try to take adequate sleep. 5. Take Tablet Paracetamol 500mg after taking food (as and when required).
