You can do urine pregnancy test on first morning sample of urine to confirm pregnancy. There are less chances of pregnancy.

9 Habits to Maintain Healthy Skin

Healthy skin is a sign of overall good health and vitality. Skin problem is one of the most persistent problems encountered by people. It is imperative therefore, that you take care of your skin to avoid skin disorders. Various factors, such as pollution, smoking, eating processed food and a sedentary lifestyle contribute to unhealthy skin.

There are certain habits, which can be followed by you on a regular basis to restore the health of your skin. Some of them are:

  1. Exercise regularly: Exercising on a regular basis improves your skin health as it increases blood circulation in the body. Consequently, it helps in delivering various nutrients to the skin, which in turn defers aging. Daily exercises also prevent the onset of various skin disorders.
  2. Keeping it clean: You should keep your skin clean to prevent the buildup of dirt. This prevents clogging of the pores and enables the skin to breathe. 
  3. Intake of vitamin C in various forms: Vitamin C is used in the collagen production process by amino acids. One of the most convenient ways of maintaining the glow of your skin is to introduce fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamin C. 
  4. Quit smoking: The pursuit of healthy skin necessitates immediate disengagement with smoking. This fatal habit should be avoided at all cost, as it triggers and facilitates the aging process. It also aggravates the production of free radicals in the skin which in turn adversely affects the skin.
  5. Less exposure to the sun: Exposure to ultraviolet rays of the sun may damage the collagen structure of the skin. It also causes tanning and increases your chance of developing skin cancer.
  6. Avoid sweet food: Consumption of sweets may lead to the formation of various substances, which threaten to damage the collagen structure and subsequently aggravates the aging process.
  7. Antioxidants: Fruits and leafy vegetables are generally packed with antioxidants. A potential damage of the skin can be deterred by including them in the diet. 
  8. Massage: Skin massages facilitate blood circulation on the skin and eradicates the damaging effect of the free radicals. This ensures that you have healthy and refreshed skin.
  9. Plant proteins: The level of oestrogen falls drastically in women after menopause, leading to the development of wrinkles.Foods, such as soy, nuts and beans minimise this effect by replenishing the level of oestrogen in the body and therefore must be incorporated in the diet.

Ayurvedic Remedies For Problem Free Hair!

Hair problems were never so common. There are hair care chemicals, changing food patterns, and increasing pollution. Issues relating to hair loss, hair thinning, premature greying, roughening are all on the rise. Conventional treatment measures would again go the chemical way, adding to the vicious cycle.

Here is where Ayurveda helps. There are proven, safe, and effective ways to a healthy hair, which have been used for centuries now. According to Ayurveda, hair and bone are very similar and so what is good/bad for the bones is good/bad for the hair too. Hair problems are due to excessive pitta, which needs to be addressed.

Healthy hair is the result of a combination of diet, Ayurvedic herbal oils, exercise, sleep, and meditation. Some of the popular herbs are listed below along with other changes that can promote healthy hair growth.

  1. Bhringaraaja: It translates into “king of the hair” and is useful for most hair problems including hair fall, premature balding, calming the mind, and promoting sleep. It can be used both internally and externally.
  2. Brahmi: Another wonderful chemical for the hair, it can be mixed with curd and applied on the hair to prevent hair fall and promote hair growth.
  3. Amla: Hair packs made of amla powder and curd or water along with henna have been used since ages to ensure healthy hair.
  4. Ritha: These are natural soap nut powders without the use of chemicals and can be used for regular hair wash. The natural oils from the scalp are preserved and therefore hair remains healthy.
  5. Natural oils: A combination of oils including coconut, almond, olive, mustard, sesame and brahmi are popularly used on the hair. These promote hair growth, improve texture, and prevent greying. Massaging warm oil on the scalp and hair and leaving it overnight before washing gives great results.
  6. Aloe vera: Either in juice form or gel form, consuming aloe vera is useful in controlling hair loss.
  7. Sesame seeds: Consume a spoonful of white sesame seeds which is rich in magnesium and calcium. As noted above, these are essential (like for bone) for hair growth and useful in maintaining healthy hair.

Fresh fruits and vegetables like juices of carrot and lettuce, vitamin and mineral rich products like sprouts, nuts, soybeans, yeast, milk, and whole grains should be part of the diet to improve overall hair health.

Stress is another major reason for hair loss and premature greying. While stress is an inevitable part of our lives, we need to learn to manage it. Try meditation, yoga, music, or exercise to beat the stress.
Hydration: The toxins that are formed in the body need to be flushed out and so don’t forget to drink it up. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.

I am 27 years old I got diabetes 1 year ago, from ther my weight reduced to 67 kgs from 75 kgs. On the advice of my colleague I started doing gym in the morning for 1.5 hrs daily. For your height 67 kg is normal weight and you must not allow any gain in the weight. In view of diabetes you must keep your diet low on sugars (carbohydrates) & fats and enough proteins. Keep exercising like walking. Strenuous exercises may burn calories but if you are on anti diabetic drugs, severe exercise for 1 and half hour may precipitate hypoglycaemia at times, so it is better to have regular brisk walking for 4 to 5 kilometers in about an hour. Have small frequent meals in place of 2 large meals at lunch and dinner. Eat lot of salads and one fruit of your choice, avoiding grapes, mangoes, sugarcane juice etc.

I think yoga can help you. If you r unable to concentrate n your mind is crowded with other thoughts yoga meditation is d answer for it. Headache may be due to many other reasons, may be upset stomach, weak eyesight, overstudy, wrong posture. Keep taking nux vomica30, 3drops twice daily. Revert back with feedback.

Hi. The symptoms of typhoid are as follows: - prolonged pyrexia, usually remittent - headache - abdominal distension - constipation followed by loose motions - malaise - vomitting - dry coated tongue -bradycardia - enlargement of liver and spleen. The duration of the illness is usually about four weeks but may remain for eight weeks or more if untreated. Consume high protein diet like sprouts, egg, soya, milk and milk products to regain the energy and strength which is lost due to the infection. Avoid spicy and oil fried food. Consume plenty of fluids. Avoid outside food and fresh and hot home made food is preferred.

lybrate-user, With a BMI of 25.39 kgs/M2, you are overweight. Ideal weight for you should be 60 kgs. Hypothyroidism if not in control, it does increase weight. It is important to keep TSH levels between 3 to 4 mU/L for keeping all symptoms under check. Even efforts to reduce weight will be fruitful only with lower TSH value. As regards diet, you have to plan a balanced diet with low aft and low carbohydrate, giving exact calories based on ideal body weight and extent of daily exercise. Plus exercise for at least 1 hour a day. It is beeter if you join a gym and do workouts under a professional guidance. Thanks.

Hello, most common chronic skin disease, almost in all age group due to wrong food habit, excess starch, sugar n fatty acid, chronic constipation, and menstrual problem in female are some of the causes behind pimples. Dear Lybrateuser, -To increase your muscle mass you have to have a well balanced diet with more of proteins & do regular exercises -have protein rich foods like eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, sea food, chicken, meats, beans, soya products, sprouts, tofu, legumes, peas, nuts like almonds, walnuts, pistachios, peanuts -do jogging, swimming, for 30 min, do moderate weight lifting at least 2-3 times a week, do push ups & chin ups to develop pectorals, give adequate rest to the part after exercise for 1-2 days -have 8-10 glasses of water per day -get check up done by a doctor to rule out klinefilter syndrome.
