For acne apply Faceclin gel/D'acne plus twice daily over affected area. For marks apply Photoscreen Depigment cream once weekly at night (very little over marks only) Use Rejuglow face wash/Saslic DS wash/Episoft OC cleanser, wash face 3-4 times in a day. Chemical combination peels to clear face.

Exercise doesn't always have to be gymming or running. Simple acts like climbing stairs or playing with your kids and pets are also some fantastic ways of getting some physical activity. You can walk for the grocery shopping or to the movie theatres. Just be active and don' t sit in one place for a long time. Physical activities not only help reduce weight, but also improve our overall health as well? if you are overweight, then cut down on your weight. A loss in weight is known to significantly lower those nasty dimples from your butt and thighs, improve your cardio routine. Opt for a high interval intensity training rather than walking or running continuously for 45 minutes stretch regularly for at least 20 minutes a day. You could try chair pose, downward facing dog, the cobra pose, child pose, and tadasana. These are some of the easiest yoga stretching poses? keep your stress away. Stress triggers the formation of cortisol. The higher the levels of cortisol, the lower the ability of your body to burn fat. This in turn worsens your cellulite? drink green tea to pep up metabolism? detoxify yourself internally and externally regularly Diet also 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon each of lime juice and honey and pinch of black pepper have this is an empty stomach twice a day. - increase intake of fruits. Salad and vegetables. - avoid fried and oily foods fatty food likes butter. Purified butter. Whole milk yogurt and chocolates -it is very important to engage daily exercise. Yoga pranayama.

Is there any benefits of drinking beer? If yes, what should be the doses? If no what are the adverse effects of it?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Is there any benefits of drinking beer? If yes, what should be the doses? If no what are the adverse effects of it?
Hye. There are no healthy benefits of beer. Beer for most in moderation (this translates to a 10 ounce glass a week) may initially not seem to cause any serious problems but weight gain. Drinking beer definitely does make you gain weight but generally around the belly even though you just take it moderately. Along with beer intake, you must watch how healthy your food is balanced and nutritious and how about your daily exercise to burn your calories to be in appropriate shape. Drinking more than this at one sitting is possibly unsafe and can cause a lot of side effects, including: flushing, confusion, trouble controlling emotions, blackouts, loss of coordination, seizures, drowsiness, trouble breathing, hypothermia, low blood sugar, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding, irregular heartbeat, and others. Long-term use can lead to alcohol dependence and can cause many serious side effects, including: malnutrition, memory loss, mental problems, heart problems, liver failure, swelling (inflammation) of the pancreas, cancers of the digestive track, and others.

My fathers age is 50 years. He was a bodybuilder. Is it safe to start lifting weights at this age? If it is good then please tell me about the benefits.

Certification in Diabetes Educators Program, Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition

My fathers age is 50 years. He was a bodybuilder. Is it safe to start lifting weights at this age? If it is good then...
Your dad has been an athlete in his early life. That is really commendable. What was his reason to stop body building. At any age one can do body building. It is extremely beneficial for older people because as one ages they lose their muscles (it is a natural process called sarcopenia) so it is all the more necessary for older people to weight train to prevent muscle loss. More the muscles, stronger you are and fitter you are. Body fat also lowers as muscles are the most metabolically active tissues in your body. If there has been a gap, then your dad needs to start from the beginners level and gradually move towards advanced levels. Along with weight lifting he needs to follow a clean nutrition program to perform better in all aspects of life.

Dark spots are primarily caused by acne, blemishes and black heads. The percentage of dark spots increases as the exposure to the sun increases too. Since the rate of melanin would be decreases, it leads in turn to the darkening of the skin. So, apply sunscreen (Homoeopathic SUNCARE cream of BAKSON Company) , every time you go out and follow the recipes below in order to get relief from dark spots. Instead of using the chemical products for your skin, try using some natural home remedies. Using home remedies can work out to be much cheaper than chemical based products and they can help treat your condition without any side effects. Caring for your skin is highly important. Here are some home remedies that allow your skin to be free of dark spots, black spots or pimple marks or even acne scars on the face. 1.Take a medium sized tomato and squeeze the juice from it, add one tablespoon of lemon juice to the tomato juice and stir the mixture well. Apply on the face and let it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse the face with warm water. 2.Take pulp from Aloe Vera leaves and let it dry in the sun for 5 minutes and then add few drops of lemon juice to the dried pulp. Apply this mixture on the face and wash it off after 15 minutes. The results are quite good.

sciatica

BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Pune
Prolapsed Disc
Also known as slipped disc, herniated disc or sciatica. The discs are the shock absorbers of your spine. When they are injured the inner soft part of the disc can protrude out through a tear in the outer lining of the disc. This disc material can press on the nerves in the spinal column, injuring them through direct pressure and causing inflammation.
The most common age to develop a disc prolapse is between the ages of 30-50 years., twice as many men as women are affected. Prolpased discs occur mainly in the low back (lumbar) spine. Less than I in 20 cases of back pain are due to a disc prolapse, most are due to mechanical back pain. (see section back pain).
Symptoms
A slipped disc is characterised by sudden, severe back pain that is often made worse by movement and which can usually be eased by lying down flat.
Nerve root pain (sciatica) can also occur because a nerve is trapped or irritated by a prolapsed disc. Although the problem is in the back, patients experience pain along the course of the nerve, for example, down a leg to the calf or foot.
With a prolapsed disc, the sciatic nerve is most commonly affected. The sciatic nerve is a large nerve that is made up from several smaller nerves that come out from the spinal cord in the lower back and travels down each leg. The irritation or pressure on the nerve may also cause pins and needles, numbness or weakness in part of a buttock, leg or foot.
In rare cases, cauda equina syndrome can occur. This is a disorder where the nerves at the very bottom of the spinal cord are trapped. It can cause low back pain as well as problems with bowel and bladder function and weakness in one or both legs. These symptoms need urgent medical treatment to prevent permanent damage to the nerves that supply the bladder and bowel.
A large number of people can have a prolapsed disc without any symptoms if it doesn’t trap or irritate the nerve.
Investigation
A doctor will normally be able to diagnose a prolapsed disc from the symptoms and by examining the patient.
In most cases, no tests are needed, as the symptoms often settle within a few weeks.
Tests such as x-rays or scans may be advised if symptoms persist. In particular, an MRI scan can show the site and size of a prolapsed disc. This information is needed if surgery is being considered

I have hair loss problem.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
I have hair loss problem.
Genetic factors, family history, overall aging process, normal life variations including temporary severe stress, illness, nutritional changes, hormonal changes like those in pregnancy, puberty, and menopause may cause a reversible hair loss. 1. Chop some onions (pyaz) into fine pieces and squeeze out the juice. Apply this to hair and scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse it with shampoo. 2. Crush a few cloves of garlic (lehsun), add in a little coconut oil and boil for a few minutes. Cool it till it becomes warm and apply it on the scalp with a little massaging action. Repeat two to three times a week for best results. 3. Take coconut milk and add a little water to it. Apply this to the scalp and allow it to stay overnight. Rinse this the next morning. 4. Add two teaspoons of amla juice/ powder and mix with equal quantity of freshly squeezed lime juice. Mix well, apply to the scalp and leave it to dry; then rinse using warm water. 5. Take some flowers of rose (gulab) add some water to it and make a paste. Apply it on hair and keep it for an hour and then wash the hair.

I am a 26 year old man my weight is 85 kg what should I do to loose some weight?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
I am a 26 year old man my weight is 85 kg what should I do to loose some weight?
Let me know your food intake details. The best diet is one which is healthy and well balanced with foods from all the food groups, and one which is varied and that you can stick to weight loss on some diets can be dramatic in the short term, but there's more of a chance of rebound weight gain. Set yourself a realistic target and aim to lose between (0.5-1.0kg) a week I strongly accommodate the patient's own preferences without the patient feeling that they are on a diet not compromising the weight management goals. Don't fall for self dieting or fad diets available online they have harmful effects in the long run, if you lose a lot of weight very quickly, you may not lose as much fat as you would with a more modest rate of weight loss. Instead, you might lose water weight or even lean muscle tissue, since it's hard to burn that many fat calories in a short period. After assessing your personal challenges to weight loss, one can recommend a strategy to gradually change habits and attitudes that have sabotaged your past efforts. Also the overall objective should not be to drastically reduce weight but doing it gradually and help rebuild body tissues and to maintain ideal body weight.
