Hye, thanks for the query. You are underweight for your height and hence your cheeks have shrunk. And of course taking tobacco is causing further drop in your health. So you need to concentrate on not only gaining health but deciding on stopping the tobacco addiction as well. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Hi, you should go for brisk walk in the morning and evening. Do regular exercise atleast 15 to 20 minutes daily. Take lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Take salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Don't take rice at night. Avoid junk food and oily food. Take small and frequent meals.

•Turmeric is good ingredient for skin. Make a facepack with mixture of turmeric and milk. Apply this and wash off after an hour with cold water for glowing skin. Lemon juice and glycerin work nicely for dry skin whereas fuller’s earth and turmeric are used for oily skin. •Take one tomato, grate it well and mix it with 3-4 drops of lime juice. Apply it on your face wait for 15 minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat it daily and feel the change on your face. •Soak 4-5 almonds in milk overnight. In the morning make a paste of them and apply it on your face and rinse it off after an hour or two. You will definitely feel the glow on your face in less then 15 days. (you can add honey, oats and yogurt for quicker results)

Hello, pimples on healing can leave marks and scars. Creams can help improving the marks a little but pits or scars respond only to procedures like peels, laser etc so please see a local dermatologist for management of acne scars.

Hi If you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine ( ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance

I' m 33 male, i' ve been having pain only on the right side on the back, at the base of the spine, could it be slip disk as it is not present on the left side?

It could be due to slip disc or low vitamin d levels. Even if u have slip disc it not very severe as the pain is not going down the leg. Get your vitamin d levels done (blood test) fasting and do spinal extension exercises (physiotherapist can teach you) 20 mins 3 times a day. Revert back with reports.

The first step towards weight gain is to find the cause behind it. The digestion & absorption of the nutrients both are equally important. Just the intake of any protein will not help if the absorption is not sufficient. Combination of different proteins along with carbohydrates is important for it to function properly. Also the body type & knowledge of suitable protein will help help gain weight. Overeating will surely not help. Regards

I have a obstructive sleep apnea problem and have been using CPAP machine for last 3 years. How can I sleep without CPAP machine and what should I do for the same? I tried to sleep without CPAP machine but I awake frequently at night and feeling sleepy all day.

The best treatment available to manage obstructive sleep apnea (osa) is cpap. You are using it for 3 years now, itself is an indication that you feel benefit by using it, so why do you want to leave it and try other therapies, which are usually not very effective for osa. Not taking treatment for osa for a long time can have detrimental effects on health. I suggest you keep using your cpap machine, and also get evaluated periodically with your sleep specialist for seeing the latest situation of your condition and pressure changes that may be required if any.

Hi, take tab. Septillin 2-0-2after food and rhinorin lehya 1 tsf twice daily followed by milk for 3 months continuously. Avoid cold and refrigerated food. Do steam inhalation twice daily. Avoid sweets and oil fried food. Perform pranayama daily in the morning for 10-15 mins.
