Hye,  Thanks for the query. There’s no overnight fix when it comes to healthy weight loss, but you can adjust your lifestyle to promote quick, natural weight loss for the benefit of your health and your appearance. Successful, long-term weight management needs to focus on more than the food you eat and the pounds you lose. It needs to focus on your overall health. Reshape your body and your lifestyle by adopting healthy habits and breaking unhealthy ones. Replace all processed foods in your diet with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds and seafood. Focus on the variety of whole, unprocessed foods you can eat instead of dwelling on the junk food you eliminated from your diet. Eat smaller portions at every meal and avoid going back for seconds. Take a smaller scoop of rice,  half of a piece of chicken instead of a whole piece and one less egg in your morning omelet, for example. Make time for breakfast every morning. Eating breakfast helps prevent overeating and is a habit of people who successfully lose weight. Pack to-go meals instead of eating convenience foods when you’re not home. Store foods like chopped fruits and vegetables or cooked grains, legumes, eggs and meats in your refrigerator so you always have something to grab when you’re in a rush. Buy fresh vegetables and fruits from the grocery store if you forget to bring healthful food from home. When you can’t avoid dining at a restaurant, opt for a salad as a starter, and always ask for the dressing on the side. Clear soups, lean meats, seafood and grain-based dishes like roti, whole grain bread are other good choices. Exercise for 30 to 60 minutes at least three times per week to build muscle and burn more calories. Pilates, strength training, aerobics, swimming, dancing and yoga or a sport like football are ideal choices. If you’re new to exercising, start with brisk walking and jogging. Adopt physically demanding hobbies like bicycling, hiking, jogging, power walking to promote faster weight loss. If you don’t have time for new hobbies, increase your physical activity with things like walking the dog, playing with the kids or jogging instead of driving to a nearby store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Weigh yourself weekly and record your weight. Adjust your diet and physical activity according to the progress you’re making.

How to stop hair falling.

BHMS
Homeopath,
How to stop hair falling.
Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

If you suffer from excessive sweating, you may feel like you’ve tried everything. You may have lost hope. Even if you feel this way, please take some time to read through our information about all the treatments currently available for treating hyperhidrosis. We think you'll leave feeling optimistic again. Please understand that we do not intend to replace the advice of a medical professional, but rather to provide information to support your quest for excessive sweating relief. Related: Tried everything and nothing worked? Maybe it's time to particpate in a clinical study and try something totally new! In addition to medical treatments, there are many high-tech products on the market to help you manage excessive sweating symptoms and the day-to-day hassles that excessive sweating causes. Many of the best products in this arena are featured in our fantastic Fan Faves section where we've got great prices on both new sweat-busting products as well as reliable products we've loved for years. And by shopping here, you help support our work, too. As for medical treatments, here's a brief overview (click through to specific treatment pages for more details): Older treatments such as antiperspirants and iontophoresis have been improved and we now know how to make them more effective. Newer treatments, like miraDry, Botox injections, and lasers have started giving relief to those who never thought they’d find it. Additionally, healthcare providers and their patients are experimenting with combinations of treatments and getting good results. Due to side effects, oral medications may not be recommended as a long-term solution but they certainly have their place when treating excessive sweating on large parts of the body, when multiple body areas are affected, or as a short-term solution during a special event (such as a presentation at work or an important family function.) Underarm surgeries, such as liposuction, for excessive underarm sweating are being refined but less invasive treatments should still be considered first. ETS surgery, although heavily advertised, is reserved for only certain severe cases of palmar hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the palms) that have not responded to any other treatment options or to combinations of treatments. Before considering ETS treatment, physicians and their patients must fully consider and discuss the real risks of permanent damage and severe side effects. When ETS is used to treat focal hyperhidrosis areas besides the palms, there appears to be reduced benefit and greater risk.

Hello, there can be many reasons behind it like *physical or emotional stress, inadequate protein intake, genetics, anemia, aging, hormonal changes, prolonged illness, deficiency of vitamin b6 and folic acid, thyroid diseases. Follow the tips *make a habit of 8-10 glasses of water daily. *eat healthy and balanced food like pulses, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and nuts etc. *eggs as it is loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amount. *add more vitamin rich food to your diet. *avoid stress and anger. *cut down the use of hair spray, hair gel. *take a sound sleep. *avoid too much exposure of your hair to sunlight. *avoid hot hair styling tools, as they damage hair and cause split ends. *it is best not to comb the hair while it is wet as this leads to greater chances of hair breakage.

Dear Lybrate user. Masturbation will consume energy and will give you tiredness. Excess masturbation can also cause stress and anxiety. The stress and anxiety must be providing you with the left chest pain. Still for a confirmation, do take an EKG. Take care.

My exams are near by, I am not able to concentrate in studies So, please give me some tips to improve my concentration in studies.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Guwahati
Your exam is knocking at your door. Start your studies with a calm, positive & optimistic mind. Focus on your preparation only. Put your maximum effort in your preparation & aim to give your best. Do not think of the outcome & its consequences now. Prepare yourself mentally for the exam. Take the following measures to improve your concentration & prepare well: •Make a study routine giving maximum time for studies. Also give adequate time for sleep, rest & relaxation. Between studies you have to relax also. This will help in sustaining your interest & concentration. Try to stick to your routine. At night look back how much you could follow the routine & reward yourself if the day was productive & to your satisfaction. In the form of reward you can give little extra time for relaxation next day, watch TV or spend some with internet, eat something you like, meet a friend etc. Encourage yourself daily. •Revise your lessons regularly. •Study relaxly with a calm mind & take small breaks during studies. •Be confident of yourself & do not compare yourself with others. •If you feel stressed while studying, talk to someone, listen to some music or do something that relax you. •Create the environment in your study room similar to your exam hall. Then you will find your exam hall comfortable & familiar. •Expect exam outcomes rationally & what is within your capability. Impractical & over expectation that is beyond one’s capability brings in fear & frustration. •Take your class time seriously by taking notes summarizing what your teacher has said. •During the days of preparation for exam eat healthy, stay hydrated & avoid substances of abuse, as a healthy body prepares a healthy mind. •Every morning relax yourself adequately before you sit for studies; go for a walk, spend some time with nature, go for a walk, do yoga, breathing exercise or relaxation techniques. •On the day prior to exam sleep adequately. •Reach the examination hall before time so that you are relaxed & mentally prepared for the exam. Do not guess the exam outcomes just target to give your best. Think positive. Start writing with a calm mind. Be aware of the anxiety symptoms, & if you feel anxiety is building up, just concentrate on breathing in & out slowly or tighten & relax your shoulders or stretch your legs. You can also take a small break & drink some water •Do not look around; just concentrate on your paper. •Revise quickly once you finish answering. All the best for your preparation & for your exam. Give your best.

How to control and loose weight I want to ask that my age is 18 years and my weight is increasing what to do.
Hye, thanks for the query. Your weight is a balance of calories. Fad diets may promise you that counting carbs or eating a mountain of fruits will make the fats drop. But when it comes to weight loss, it's sensible eating that counts. Weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you take in. You can do that by reducing extra calories from food and beverages, and increasing calories burned through physical activity. Understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. Your nutrient needs are high because growth is still taking place. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Take smaller main meals. It's important not to take only two heavy meals a day, but smaller more frequent meals to ensure good metabolism. Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     All the so called fad, crash, restricted diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, don't forget the bottom line: The key to successful weight loss is a commitment to making indefinite changes in your diet and exercise habits.

Hi, better consult your concern dermatologist only as he has already recommended you. In my opinion, use those brand's products which suits to your skin - it may be herbal (himalaya's, patanjali's, jiva's, etc.) or else can use chemical-based superior quality (amway's, oriflame's, avon's, maybellene's, etc.). But the best would be to use rosewater as a toner which has got cooling effect on your skin and gives your skin a cooling effect.

How to gain weight and make bones strong. Please recommend one specific tablet for both.

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
How to gain weight and make bones strong. Please recommend one specific tablet for both.
Hi to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.
