Healthy weight gain means more increase in muscles and to a certain extent fat in order to support those muscles. Just eating anything or high calorie foods will result in only fat gain which will not give you a proper body shape and will also be detrimental later in life. A diet high in protein and adequate carbohydrate in necessary. In order to achieve a healthy weight you should know what you have to eat and how much to eat. I have 11 years of experience in this field and have helped innumerable people to manage their weight.

General Physician,
You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. You are having pubic-lice. Treatment includes: Wash all clothing and bedding in hot water. Spray items that cannot be washed with a medicated spray that you can buy at the store. You can also seal items in plastic bags for 10 to 14 days to smother the lice. Makes sure anyone with whom you have had sexual contact or shared a bed is treated at the same time. For further queries get back to me.

How to get six pack abs in 5 weeks with increasing hight with proper diet n weight loss treatment.

Vaidya Visharad
Ayurveda, Narnaul
If you regularly skip breakfast, your metabolism has less work to do. Overtime, this slows down your body’s overall fat-burning capability. Furthermore, when you go without food for too long, your body releases ghrelin (the hunger hormone) into your blood. This explains the hunger pangs you get by lunchtime when you skip breakfast. It also exacerbates cravings for fatty foods. Study subjects who skipped breakfast, when showed pictures of high-fat foods like pizza, cake and chocolate, reported a significantly increased craving for these high-calorie foods, according to a 2010 study published in The Endocrine Society. Even if you consider yourself to have strong will power, capable of warding off starvation-induced cravings, a healthy breakfast is still a critical part of a well-balanced diet. Compromising your nutritional intake is bound to slow down, if not completely hamper, your weight loss.

Certification in Diabetes Educators Program, Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition

You need to visit a nutritionist who can guide you through your fat loss. Trying many products are never a solution to fat loss. Fat weight can be for many reasons, low metabolism, disordered eating habits, hormonal issues, sedentary lifestyle, genetics. One has to look into the root cause and then you get your solution. Nevertheless I am giving you some tips. To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

My girlfriend is suffering from minor symptoms of depression. Majorly due to her studies and her surroundings. She is nowadays irritated and becomes angry on small reasons. Also she has stopped interacting with anyone. I want to help her out but I don't know how. Please help me.

Advance diploma Child and guidance Concelling , Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical psychologist
Psychologist, Jodhpur
Hi lybrate-user, are you sure she is depressed or just stressed out because of her exams? There is a lot of pressure on people to succeed in exams and sometimes this can be a little overwhelming for her. She can do following things: 1. Keep talking to her and let her know that you are by her side, a shared burden is always lighter. 2.Make one health-related commitment. Do what is possible to bolster her health so that she can have the energy and strength to tackle the challenges she is facing. One small step, like cutting back on her caffeine consumption, can have a positive effect. Studies show that without caffeine, people reported feeling more relaxed, less jittery or nervous, slept better, had more energy. Similarly, a brisk walk or other aerobic activity can increase her energy and concentration levels and lessen feelings of anxiety. Physical activity increases your body’s production of good-feeling endorphins, a type of neurotransmitter in the brain, and decreases the production of stress hormones. This will help her manage the stress. Enhance your sleep quality. People who are chronically stressed often suffer from lack of adequate sleep and, in some cases, stress-induced insomnia. According to APA’s 2009 Stress in America survey, 47 percent of all adults say they lie awake at night because of stress. It is important to take steps to increase the quality of your sleep. Experts recommend going to bed at a regular time each night, striving for at least 7-8 hours of sleep, and if possible, eliminating distractions, such as television and computers from your bedroom. Begin winding down an hour or two before you go to sleep and engage in calming activities such as listening to relaxing music, reading an enjoyable book, taking a soothing bath or practicing relaxation techniques like meditation. Avoid eating a heavy meal or engaging in intense exercise immediately before bedtime. If you tend to lie in bed and worry, write down your concerns well in advance of bedtime and then work on quieting your thoughts before lights-out. You can figure out how to address stressful issues in the morning, after a good night’s sleep. Strive for a positive outlook. Looking at situations more positively, seeing problems as opportunities and refuting negative thoughts are all important aspects of staying positive and trying to minimize your stress. In some people, stress can be caused by their attempts to handle things perfectly. Setting more realistic expectations and positively reframing the way you look at stressful situations can make life more manageable. Also, difficult circumstances have a way of working out; it is important to keep challenges in perspective and do what you can reasonably do to move forward.

Hello. I am suffering from bad breath and pull back of gum bone. I took curatauge treatment from dentist but to no avail. I am continuously facing bone loss due to plaque. There are huge cavities forming in between my teeth. Kindly suggest which treatment I should take.

BDS
Dentist, Pune
First of all. Lets find the reason of bad breadth. So firstly visit a dentist and then do a scaling and polishing. Later learn correct brushing technique and flossing. So that you will be able to maintain a good oral hygiene by yourself. You can use any mouthwash which is available in market but once when you remove the bad breath then you will be able to get a good result of mouthwash. For any more query or treatment visit us today.

Mr. Lybrate-user I think you have digestion related problem. So you should take easily digestible food, which you may digest properly. Due to indigestion you feal tiredness and weakness. You take food in digestible limit. If you have constipation, remove it to drink lemonated warm water300-500 ml. Early in morning 30 minutes walk before defecations. Avoid non veg. Bakery products and fast food.
