It iss due to much straining on your eyes.Be sure that there is ample light in the room where you are studying and if even then problem remains same then you should consult an eye specialist to rule out possibility of weak eyeesight.

For past1week my left eye has become little reddish no sign of irritation and also little blur. What is it.

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
Dear lybrate user, red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power

I have pain in my eyes every time when I use to do study so what should I do for that.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Get your eyes tested from an Opthalmologist. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

I have a problem with my eye. I have irritation in my eyes if I work more. I checked with doctors. They say that there is no problem in my eye. But laptop, mobile phone usage, tv makes this irritation. What to do for this problem?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
While using mobile/laptop/tv for long intervals continuously, eyes get exhausted. While using Mobile/laptop/tv make sure that the lightening in room is proper to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the Mobile/laptop/tv screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, one must try to reduce the amount of Mobile/laptop/tv usage or take frequent breaks. Dont use mobile /laptop/tv continuously for more than 30 minutes and most important dont use mobile/laptop with low battery. The bright light of the mobile screen /laptop/tv gets more focused on our eyes and this causes dryness of the eyes and thus causing weakness of vision and eye and head pain. Homoeopathic medicine CINELUBE EYE DROPS ( HAPDCO) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

I have a hair losses problem and I want to burn my calories and I have a vision problem so please what kind of vegetables and fruits I have to eat to increase my vision and I am so depressed thinking about my health condition so help me out from this problem.

Vaidya Visharad
Ayurveda, Narnaul
Sea Vegetables - If you have a thyroid issue sea vegetables are highly recommended for an underactive thyroid. An underactive thyroid can cause thinning of the hair and even the eyebrows. These sea vegetables include kelp, nori, and dulse (see the link below for the amazing health benefits of sea vegetables, also known as seaweed). If you east sushi it is often wrapped with nori. It is also sold in dried forms and can easily be sprinkled over foods. Add them several times per week. They are also sold in supplement form. Sea Vegetables have been determined to be far more beneficial than food grown on land.

I have red eye for a 4 days what should I do for this problem please tell me fast please.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and dip the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T. V. Working on computer or mobile, reading or frequently keep blinking your eyes to avoid dryness. Take frequent breaks in between. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. -Wear an UV-rays protected sunglasses while you are out in sun. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter.

My wife has episceleretis and the doctor has said not to use any drops or steroids and instead has given ibuprofen 400 mg 3 times a day. She had shown 3 doctors before and no respite, as the redness of eye would reoccur in 1 month, is this the right treatment what she has now, please guide.

MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist,
Episcleritis is a recurrent disease. It's an inflammatory condition. You should use a mild steroid drop in tapering dose ( ex- Tobastar F eye drop 6 times x 4days 5times. X 4days ..... till once x 4days ) By this time redness of d eyes will go away, then start Flur eye drop 3 times for 3 months The recurrence rate will go down to a large extent with this treatment.

Hi. I problem in eye sight, while driving in night. My eyes are blurred. And while setting in my mobile at night time tears are coming.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
There are multiple causes responsible for diminution/ blurring of vision. Let me enumerate them in brief for you: (1) refractive error. This is one of the commonest reasons responsible. Minus or plus number in one eye or both eyes may be responsible for weak/ blurred vision. The solution for this is glasses/ contact lens/ refractive surgery (if applicable). It should be checked by a trained optometrist/ ophthalmologist and proper glasses should be prescribed. (2) cornea related problem: injury, degeneration, infections or inflammation occurring on the cornea tend to causes loss of transparency and lead to weakening of vision. These should be assessed preferably by a cornea specialist and treated appropriately. (3) cataract in the lens of the eye: this usually occurs with increasing age but in some cases may occur at a younger age. There are multiple systemic factors responsible (eg. Diabetes, increased cholesterol levels, etc) injury to the eye may also cause cataract. This should be assessed and treated appropriately by a cataract specialist. (4) retina/ vitreous problems: these occur due to a variety of reasons such as high minus numbers, diabetes, trauma, etc. These issues are best assessed and treated by a retina specialist. There are good quality surgical options available for the same. (5) optic nerve related problems: these may occur due to raised eye pressure (glaucoma), or occur in association with certain conditions related to the brain and the blood vessels. These are best assessed by a retina/ glaucoma specialist (whichever applicable). (6) neurological problems: certain problems in the brain and the central nervous system tend to cause weakening/ blurring of vision. These are best assessed by an eye specialist in concordance with a neurologist and a neurosurgeon if required. Thus, based on the category you fall under, it would be necessary to take appropriate help and treatment. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You could also use a lubricant eye drop along with an anti-histamine eye drop. (3-4 times daily) hope my suggestions helped you. Let me know if you require further assistance. Take care. Regards.

I was suffering from eye diseases like irritation, itching, eyes becomes red, from last 5 years.

DOMS, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
Hello lybrate-user, these are allergic symptoms, as you might be knowing. Keep a track as in which season they get worse so that you can start with an antihistamine eye drop or oral tablets. See allergic reactions are chronic, they tend to recur. You can avoid responsible allergens if you know them but mostly its natural conditions which we cannot avoid. Like the dust, pollution, pollens and in your case hot humid air of sea might be worsening it. Wash your eyes with clean cold water everytime you get home from outside. Take care.

My right eye focus on a near object changes and eye ball moves and I see two objects at a time with my choice on whom to focus.

MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Rewa
Dear lybrate-user:- as per your stated complaints, you r suffering from refractive error with double vision for neer object. Following treatment is being recommended to you take a pencil, keep it at 25 cms distance. Gradually move it toward your nose tip with constantaly looking to it. If you feel doubling of object or discomfort you take pencil away at primary site. Repeat this 7-8 times on one sitting. Do 3 sittings in a day for 15 days.

A month back I was having some problem in my eyes, dryness, itching a bit headache. Have consulted optomologist and was advised to take lotegate and ccs for one month. Have seen considerable improvement. Now its a month please advise should I continue or advise some regular drops which can be of daily use.

DNB Ophtalmology, MS - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
If the itching is completely gone u can discontinue lotegate. .since u have used it for a month taper the drops instead of stopping abruptly to avoid a recurrence of eye allergies. CCS is a tear substitute which can be safely continued life long if so desired. I would recommend u continue with it for all least another month or two.
