I need a pet doctor because my 3 month old pet dog is vomiting and suffered from fever. Please help.

MVSc
Veterinarian, Darjeeling
You did not mention the deworming and vaccination status of your pet. There may be different reasons for vomiting. Parasite infestation, indigestion, acidity are the prime cause. Vomiting causes dehydration and loss of electrolytes from body. So, give it ors (oral rehydration solution) @ 20-25 ml / hour frequently to combat that. Then go for deworming your puppy with suitable dewormer and liver tonic. Avoid protein type diets for few days. Give adequate carbohydrate type diet and plenty of water. Apply digestive tonic containing essential digestive enzymes twice daily after meal. In severe case of vomiting, go for fluid therapy (rl) with antacid and antivomitic injections. In case of fever use antipyretic like paracetamol suspention in proper dose with antacid. When everything will be alright, then go for vaccination. Please repeat dewotrming in every 3 months interval.

I have a dog when he gets to sleep he used to take continuous loud breathing while asleep. What could be the possible reason of this thing?

MVSc (Ph.D pursuing)
Veterinarian, Hyderabad
Your dog possibly has short nose. May be a pug, boxer or a bulldog. Its called boas. Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome. If not, then its just called snoring. Due to heavy day activities or overweight or both.

My dog is not eating very well, She is very active though? Wanted to know the reason?

Master of sciences, B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Veterinarian, Salem
As far as she is active there is no problem , her appetite is of very low level , can give liver supplements to improve their diet patterns . Please consult your vet

It is often said that feeding calcium rich food to nursing dog leads to eclampsia. Is it true? If yes then what food should be fed to a nursing dog?

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
The information is false In my opinion and in fact eclampsia occurs when the dog receives food low in calcium because of low Serum calcium levels

My dog has been tiered and it desiase is vommeting, loose motion, fever. What is medical advice.

M.V.Sc (Surgery)
Veterinarian, Mohali
You can show him to vet, seems severe gastro intestinal trouble. Continous vomiting and diarrhea leads to dehydration

I have a pug female dog. She is 1 year old and she has the problem of bleeding what should I do?

B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc
Veterinarian, Gurgaon
Dear lybrate-user bleeding from which body part please clarify. If it is from its genital area and its mild, it could be due to her heat period. Along with bleeding there may be slight swelling of her visible genital parts. Please share photograph and name o bleeding part to give you precise advise.

I have a 13 years old pomeranian bitch. She had stopped eating since a few weeks. On getting her blood tested and sonography, reports say that her kidney is weak and urea level is high. What should I do?

B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc.-Pathology
Veterinarian, Bangalore
With the age the dogs kidney starts losing its functional ability. So now all you have to do is managemental and supportive therapy. Changes in the feed like giving renal diet and phosphate binders has to be followed. If the dog is still not taking food, better to go for fluid therapy.
