One month ago I had got an injury in my knee while playing cricket. At that time I had not felt any hard pain. But after 15days of that incident my knee got sored. Also I am feeling pain while playing. Please suggest me proper medications.

Lybrate-user ji looking to your history it serms you have some injury of ligaments of knee joit. First of all stop playing cricket and give rest to your knee so that further damage does not occur. Than consult an orthopaedic in your town who wil examin you and advice x ray and mri. And if there is any ligament injury you need to undergo a surgery.

I am 23 yr old. I have thigh ache and backache for 3 years. It is dangerous in winter season. Its very difficult to lift even a single step and when I sleep it is so painful.

This could be due to lumbar spondylosis with nerve root compression. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

After knee injury one should take proper care of knee joint. Like avoid prolong standing, wear comfortable footwear, wear knee cap when you are walking (if u feel that your knee is not stable and getting jerks while walking.) Last but not the least continue your exercises to regain the muscle strength. Thank you.

Dear lybrateuser, - Get investigation x- ray of the knee done to know the exact cause of your problem - do knee strengthening exercises & avoid pressure on it like as when jogging, climbing or coming down stairs - have a well balanced diet with more of protein & calcium containing foods to strengthen your bones & soft tissues of your body.

Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform me. Stop smoking & drinking.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Hello, you can visit to nearest physiotherapy center for proper assessment of the spine. Till then you can use hot fomentation to the affected area for 15 mins bd. Thanks.
