My dad its RMD (gutkha) he had an diabetic (sugar) does it RMD harmful for him or not?
Mr. lybrate-user, Gutka is bad for everybody, more so for a person with diabetes. Even in normal person it is associated with conditions like fibroscitis, where cheek muscles harden and opening the mouth becomes difficult. Plus there are a large number of oral and tongue cancers reported in people consuming gutka. In a diabetic person generally immune system is a bit vulnerable, so gutka can cause serious damage. Thanks.

The Procedure and Risks of Spirometry

MD PULMONARY, DTCD
Pulmonologist, Faridabad
The Procedure and Risks of Spirometry

Spirometry is a common medical test that is conducted in order to detect whether your lungs are working properly. This is done by detecting the amount of air you can inhale and exhale along with the time taken to complete both of these procedures. Spirometry is useful to diagnose any underlying medical condition like asthma, Chronic Obtrusive Pulmonary Disease, persistent coughing or problem during breathing. If you are receiving treatment for chronic lung disorder, spirometry is also useful to check whether or not your lungs are responding to the specific kind of treatment.

Procedure: The process of spirometry involves the use a mouthpiece and a tube adjoined with a machine which displays the recorded results. Before the onset of the procedure, which generally takes place in a hospital, you will be prescribed by the doctor to wear comfortable clothing which will not restrict your normal breathing process and will be asked to have a light meal before the procedure. The procedure will be conducted while you are sitting.

Spirometry takes an estimated amount of 15 minutes to get over with. The nurse will put a clip on your nose in order to close your nostrils. After that, you have to take a deep breath and then breathe out as hard as possible on the tube for a few seconds. You have to make sure that there's no air leakage during this procedure by putting your lips tightly over the tube. In order to arrive at a stable result, you have to conduct the test three times at least. If the results are hugely diverse, then you have to take the test again. The highest result among the three tests is usually denoted as the ultimate test result.

Risks: Spirometry is generally a low-risk inducing procedure. But in some cases, it might cause loss of breath, moments after the procedure. Also, spirometry should not be conducted if the patient has recently had a heart attack or surgery of the eye, abdomen or chest. If you are suffering from vomiting tendencies and you have regular instances of blood in your cough, you should also avoid spirometry. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a pulmonologist.

Hello lybrate-user.. U seem to be involved in a heavy workout regime despite of which you haven't lost your weight. Also a very professional approach is required to weight loss. Very strict plans doesn't work sumtime. Before getting started with d weightloss plan with you pls do the following tests n report me d same. ■ lipid profile. ■ thyroid hormone test. After d reports only I can confirm the reason for having no weight loss at all. If d reports r normal then the diet may be faulty somewhere.

Can a person's weight be reduced just through nutrition, for example a person A has a weight of 90 Kg and he wants it to cut it down like 3 Kgs a month is that possible without hitting gym and just taking the proper nutrition.

Yes it is possible to reduce weight only through diet, however exercise gives shape to arms, stomach and thighs. Exercise also creates good skin, more vibrant attitude and healthy heart... So weight reduction should not be the only goal.. You should aim to be slim, strong, fit, active, energetic, vibrant, glowing... All this is possible through a combination of diet + exercise.

My sex time during intercourse is less than one minute so how can I increase it to satisfy my wife.

PGD IN ULTRAASONOGRAPHY, Non invasive cardiology course, MD - Medicine, MBBS

My sex time during intercourse is less than one minute so how can I increase it to satisfy my wife.
1) Foreplay begins before you get undressed If asked, most of us would say that we wanted more foreplay. It often seems to us that men think of foreplay as a warm up to the main event, and try to do as little of it as possible. This is a mistake when it comes to pleasing a girl in bed because foreplay is one of the most enjoyable aspects of sex for women. Men are able to reach orgasm much more quickly than women, so foreplay gives us time to get to the same point as you. There are many forms of foreplay, so ask us what feels good if you’re not sure. If we’re not into what you’re doing then try something else; everyone is different and one woman may not like the same moves as another. And it may be obvious and off-putting to some women if we think you’re just trying some ‘tricks’ you know pleased previous women, and aren’t paying attention to whether or not we actually like it. Foreplay for women can start in the morning or afternoon. Anticipation is exciting so suggest watching a film together or offer to cook. This attention will put us in the right frame of mind and we’ll spend the day thinking about an evening together. If you can remember to send your partner a text message saying how much you’re looking forward to spending time with her, then you’re practically guaranteed a great night. This type of build up is all foreplay and one of the best ways to turn a woman on. In fact, if you begin with her imagination before even attempting to remove articles of clothing then you’re off to a great start. 2) Know where the clitoris is diagram showing where the clitoris is Make sure you know the female anatomy, and give the clitoris plenty of attention during both foreplay and sex. Let’s move on to the female anatomy. This isn’t a science lesson, but if you don’t know what’s what on the female body and where it’s located, then we’re going to be disappointed with you. If you want to know how to satisfy a woman in bed properly, you need to know exactly where to focus your attention. We want and expect men to be educated in this respect. Unless you’ve been living in a monastery all your life, I shouldn’t need to tell you that women usually need clitoral stimulation to climax, and the clitoris isn’t located inside the vagina! Yes, penetrative sex feels good, but it won’t get us there like it will for a man. A girl needs clitoral stimulation, so don’t be afraid to use your hands or give your lady oral sex. It can also come from shifting positions and incorporating different moves. For example, the figure of eight with your hips – just ask your partner what feels good, and keep doing it. Keep in mind that you shouldn’t shift positions too often; women need to take their time over a build up of sensations. It’s fine to experiment and change positions at first, but if you find a position that’s stimulating her in all the right ways, then keep doing exactly the same thing. Don’t rob her of the build-up to an orgasm just because you think you’ve been in the same position for too long. This really is key to satisfying a woman in bed – don’t make her think you’re going to give her an orgasm and then take it all away! 3) Compliment her a shelf of men's magazines Make sure you make us feel like we are sexier than the women in your magazines… When it comes to feeling confident in the bedroom, we really need to be told how great we look, feel, smell and anything else you can think of. Being naked and having all those bumps and lumps exposed can make us feel self-conscious and stop us from enjoying sex. There are so many outside pressures to look great that women carry that ‘body perfect’ pressure into the bedroom. You can blame movies and super-models for any inhibitions we have. We need you to counteract our critical opinions of our own bodies and reassure us that we look good. Earlier I mentioned that foreplay begins way before any touching, so just keep in mind that if we catch you drooling over perfectly airbrushed women in men’s magazines, we’ll feel that we can’t live up to those expectations. If you can’t prevent yourself from drooling over those perfect women, then at least tell us they aren’t a patch on us – we won’t believe you, but secretly we’ll feel good, and therefore we’ll want more sex with you. 4) We love communication woman's sexy boots If you talk openly about sex and what you like, who knows what fantasies you could explore together… Women undoubtedly worry about different things to men and sex is no different. We want you to tell us if something feels good, and praise how we look and feel. Take your time over foreplay and learn what works for your partner. Communication in the bedroom is paramount; don’t assume it’s all perfect just because we haven’t complained or demanded something. You need to ask and talk to us about what we like. You can do this before, during or after sex. There’s no rule about the best time to talk to us about sex. And you might start something amazing if you develop an open communication about sex between you. Who knows, you may discover that both of you have been harboring identical secret fantasies. If you don’t talk about it, you’ll never know! Oh, and one final tip … although communication is important never ever ask us if we’ve come yet. If you need to ask then it hasn’t happened. Not only does this make it evident that you aren’t paying attention, it piles on the pressure to get there, and there’s no passion killer worse than that. If this all seems like hard work then bear in mind that the more attention you give to your partner, the more she is going to want to have sex with you, and surely that makes up for the extra attention you might need to start paying. If you have problems with your sexual stamina Finally, women do understand that some men have issues with how long they last for during sex. This is another vital area you should communicate about if you want to satisfy your partner in bed.

Hello, I am giving you Management of Diabetes that include Diet, physical exercise, and medications 1.Food if you have diabetes, you need to know how foods affect your blood sugar levels. It's not only the type of food you eat but also how much you eat and the combinations of food types you eat. Learn about carbohydrate counting and portion sizes. A key to many diabetes management plans is learning how to count carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the foods that often have the biggest impact on your blood sugar levels. Use measuring cups or a scale to ensure proper portion size and an accurate carbohydrate count. Make every meal well-balanced every meal to have a good mix of starches, fruits and vegetables, proteins, and fats. Some carbohydrates, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains, are better for you than are others. These foods are low in carbohydrates and contain fiber that helps keep your blood sugar levels more stable. Coordinate your meals and medications. Too little food in proportion to your diabetes medications — especially insulin — may result in dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Too much food may cause your blood sugar level to climb too high (hyperglycemia). Avoid sugar-sweetened beverages. Sugar-sweetened beverages The exception is if you are experiencing a low blood sugar level. Sugar-sweetened beverages, such as soda, juice and sports drinks, can be used as an effective treatment for quickly raising blood sugar that is too low. Exercise Physical activity is another important part of your diabetes management plan. When you exercise, your muscles use sugar (glucose) for energy. Regular physical activity also helps your body use insulin more efficiently. These factors work together to lower your blood sugar level. In general, most adults should exercise at least 30 minutes a day on most days of the week. Keep an exercise schedule. Talk to your doctor about the best time of day for you to exercise so that your workout routine is coordinated with your meal and medication schedules. Check your blood sugar level. Check your blood sugar level before, during and after exercise. Medication Insulin and other diabetes medications are designed to lower your blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone aren't sufficient for managing diabetes.
