There are a various causes for stomach problems, treatment depends on the location, severity and type of pain. Laboratory tests such as the complete blood count (cbc), liver enzymes, pancreatic enzymes (amylase and lipase), urinalysis are frequently performed in the evaluation of abdominal pain. If you have h. Pylori infection for which I can prescribe a 14 day treatment plan which will eliminate it. Untreated infection causes ulcers in stomach and may finally lead to cancer. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Hi, your symptoms, as you describe, are indicative of heat exhaustion. I would advise you first to take rest in an ac room (preferably) and take plenty of fluids including water, home made ors, fresh butter milk and other fruit juices etc as you like. You may take juicy fruits, as available, at the moment. Simultaneously, do avoid any kind of strenuous job (physical/ mental) including watching tv, mobile, working on computers et al for a couple of hours till you feel well as this may add to your stress and headache. Once you stabilize and feel well, start with something light yet nutritious before taking full fledged meals. Self medication with crocin or any other pain killer at this juncture could exacerbate your issues and would be harmful especially if taken before eating anything.

Hello, Thanks for your query. Try an over-the-counter medicine containing simethicone, which helps to break down gas bubbles. You can try a process of elimination by substituting a gassy food for a non-gassy one, and see which one is giving you the most trouble. A few basic substitutions: • Rice milk for cow’s milk • Bananas, blueberries and melon for apples, peaches and plums • Gluten-free and spelt cereals and bread for wheat and rye products • Bamboo shoots, bok choy, carrot, celery, corn, eggplant, green beans, lettuce, chives, parsnip, pumpkin, and tomato for artichokes, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, okra, onions, and peas. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care

You must immediately consult the emergency if she is vomiting blood. This seems like there was an ulcer in the stomach and it is ruptured. This could be an emergency. Go immediately.

Eating junk food: It?s in the brain

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Eating junk food: It?s in the brain
When it comes to eating junk food one may blame the brain. Addiction is a disease and the same has been proved by a study.
Two areas of the brain have to work together to give the self?control to reject unhealthy foods. California Institute of Technology researchers used MRI to scan the brains of volunteers as they looked at photos of dozens of types of foods and decided which ones they'd like to eat. They found significant differences in the brain activity between people who had self?control in terms of making food choices and those with no self?control.
An area of the brain called the ventromedial prefrontal cortex is involved in all value?based decisions. When ventromedial prefrontal cortex activity decreases, a person will probably reject an item, whereas increased activity means they?ll probably choose it.
The study published in the journal Science found that in people with no self?control, the ventromedial prefrontal cortex seemed to take into consideration only the taste of a food.
In people with good self?control, another area of the brain called dorsolateral prefrontal cortex becomes active and modulates the basic value signals so that the self?controllers also incorporate health considerations into their decisions.
The study showed that ventromedial prefrontal cortex is active during every decision and that the DLPFC is more active when a person is using self?control.

Hell lybrate user- this might be due to following reasons so try to avoid them- a) sleeping in day time. B) going to bed late (generally after 10 pm). C) lack of hair oiling. D) excessive intake of spicy and fried diet and less intake of sweets. Avoid these reasons and use mahabhringraj hair oil for head massage daily before going to bed, you will get relief quickly.

Hi Sir I am suffering from bronchial asthma since last 10 yrs. I am 25 years old. I am taking Montair-LC and Seroflo-250 daily. Could you suggest something which can be beneficial for me.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, asthma is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Medication: bronchitis/ asthma can be treated well with homoeopathic medicines completely, only need to be regular with the medication and avoid those foods/ things to which you are allergic to for sometime. Keep taking your already on going medication, reduce it gradually and slowly once homoeopathic starts acting. Take bakson's astha-aid drops/ 10-15 drops in 1/2 cup water/ thrice d day for 1 month. Report me back after a month.
