it is said that we should take heavy diet at breakfast time, medium diet at lunch and a lite supper. Please give me the reason why? What happens if the reverse procedure is followed?

Because you need energy to start your day. That energy breakfast gives you and as the day passes you need less energy. Dinner should be light because you have to sleep at night and not have to do any hard work.

Tips for backache: heavy objects should be pushed rather than pulled. The weight of the objects should be taken in your bent legs and arms and not in your back. During an acute attack sleep with a pillow under the knees. Choose shoes that offer good support in the arch and have low, but not flat, heels. Prop up one foot on a box or low stool when you're standing for a long time. Use a chair that provides support for your back, or tuck a little pillow behind your lower back. Tips to improve balance/alignment/motion: lift your leg so your thigh is parallel to the ground while touching a wall. Hold it for five breaths. For alignment, move side to side while sitting on a balance ball. For motion, try moving forward and backward on the ball.

I would suggest her to following home remedy Natural home remedy using cinnamon powder: 1. Boil 1 L of water 2. Let it simmer for 20 min on low flame 3. While simmering, add 3 tsp of cinnamon powder 4. Strain the mixture 5. Drink entire amount of this water everyday surely you will get results, if it dosent work then you must consult ayurvedic doctor.

I am 44 years old suffering from R.A .My RA is 18. 8 and esr, uric acid is normal, anti ccp test is sero negative. I suffered from thyroid but due to homeopathic treatment it is coming normal. have psoriasis on foot. Please let me know whether lam suffering from auto immune diseases. Hi, Ms. lybrate-user, I am not sure who made a diagnosis of RA in you. RA levels are very borderline in your case and they are not high enough to make a diagnosis of RA. But having said that many Ra patients have negative tests too. You have psoriasis. The arthritis associated with psoriasis is called psoriatic arthritis. It usually is diagnosed clinically, by history and patient examination and test alone is not sufficient. Also, understand that psoriasis of the skin is itself an autoimmune condition. It doesn't require any test, we can diagnose it by just looking at the skin. Rheumatology deals with autoimmune disorders. Unfortunately, most autoimmune disorders are complex, there is not a single blood test. Many immune blood results (like RA test) can be positive in normal patients. A diagnosis can only be made with proper, history and examination along with relevant blood results. I get many patients in my OPD with positive blood results of autoimmunity, but they don't have the disease. So I hope you understood why a specialist should see you before you do or interpret any results. Since rheumatology deals with autoimmune disorders mostly, Rheumatologist and clinical immunologists are one and same in India. We mostly use the word rheumatologists rather than immunologists in India. If you have trouble finding rheumatologist in your area do let me know Regards Best wishes.

Hello, First of all you should take rest for 1-2 days so that your body can fight with underlying infection with its full immunity and start the below medication:- Take gelesemium 200, twice daily . Take Eupatrium perf 200, 5 drops thrice daily.Take Antifebrinum 3x, 2 tabs , thrice daily. Take Alfavena malt, 1 tsf, thrice daily. Drink lots of water and take light homemade food like dalia and khichdi, avoid oily, spicy, fried, junk and cold drinks. In case of high uncontrollable fever, don't panic you should do cold sponging to lower down the temperature.If fever does not goes then go for a set of blood tests. Revert me with feedback. Take care of your health.GOOD DAY.

Hi ya light brown discharge is common during early days of pregnancy but if you had second line light in pregnancy test means you are pregnant so there is a two possibility either it is early pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy. You should do one ultrasonography to confirm location and weeks of pregnancy thanks.

Hi lybrate-user Eat with your eyes and your mind Make sure your dinner table has a spread of colours like yellow, green, red, orange, white. Add a lot of different fresh seasonal vegetables, raw salads and herbs. This will not only be pleasing to your palate by providing a burst of flavour but will also give it an aesthetic appeal, so the meal doesn’t look boring and monotonous. While you sit to eat, do not just shove the food in your mouth and gulp it down. The idea is to go slow, and enjoy the entire experience, relish your food as you chew it properly to enjoy every flavour in every bite. Focus on what you are eating the texture, the visual appeal, the aroma of the dish. Eating mindfully will make it an enjoyable experience while assisting in better digestion, make you feel more fuller by avoiding overeating and prevent a lot of stomach distress like gas, bloating or acidity Eating a smaller portion of food at a time helps in the breakdown of the food in an effective way so that the entire calories obtained from the food are used up by the body for all the bodily functions. When you eat a large meal, the excess energy which goes unused by the system gets stored as fat and causes weight gain. A good idea would be to use smaller plates so the plate looks fuller and psychologically makes you feel that you have eaten enough while eating from a larger plate makes you pile up your plate with more food which in turn makes you eat more calories. Fill up your stomach only up to 80% We have been raised to eat until we are absolutely full so we don’t feel hungry later. Either that or because traditionally Indian consider it a taboo to leave any food on the plates so we eat off the kids plates because he/she won’t eat anymore, also we have seen our moms finish the leftover paratha or grab an extra spoon rice even if they are not too hungry, just so that they don’t have to throw it away as they are usually the last ones to eat. Not realising how much damage we are doing to our bodies by eating more than what our body needs. However, it is better to stuff ourselves and only eat until we feel adequately full. Yes, you will feel hungry after few hours and that ok. It only means less pressure on your intestines and delaying the ageing process of the cells which can prevent heart attacks, diabetes and cancer. Eat small snacks every few hours. Having said that eating till you are 80% full will make you hungry for more, it is a good practice to eat 5-6 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meal pattern of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Eat a healthy snack like a fresh whole fruit or nuts like almonds, walnuts, unsalted peanuts, pumpkin seeds, low fat curd or unsalted chaas, hard boiled eggs between main meals every 2-3 hours. This will help to keep you burning more calories throughout the day as the digestion process continuous to keep your metabolism up and running. Also, your body will thank you for feeling light and energetic throughout the day because of the regular supply of an array of nutrients and maintaining your blood sugar levels Have a light supper or dinner As they say, Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a commoner and dinner like a popper it is important to start the day with a filling wholesome breakfast to kick start your metabolism and taper down your meals as the sun goes down. Your last meal should happen atleast 3 hours before your bedtime so the body has enough time to digest the meal properly before you go to bed. If you eat a heavy meal too close to bedtime, the body cannot digest it properly leading to indigestion, acid reflux, disturbed sleep making you wake up next morning feeling sluggish and tired. As the day goes the body tends to slow down and to go into a repair and recovery mode to heal the body from the days stress and wear and tear. Also, since we are not physically active in the night time all the excess calories get stored as fat in the body Eat vegetables first Vegetables are full of fibre and when you consume them first, this fibre helps to cover whatever is eaten after and inhibits insulin spikes and the speed at which sugar is transported into the blood. Proteins such as fish, chicken, paneer or sprouts are harder to digest when they are eaten first and everything else eaten after would take time making you feel bloated. Raw vegetables contain a digestive enzyme that helps break down proteins. Eat more fiber Eating more fiber, makes feel fuller, can increase satiety and makes you lose weight. Make sure you eat about 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables, raw or cooked throughout the day Reduce sugar as much as possible To achieve a flatter belly, make sure you have as low as zero grams of sugar. Opt for healthier natural sweetener such as honey, dates, dates syrup, figs but don’t overdo it. Add chopped strawberries or other fruits like apples, pear to your morning oatmeal to satisfy the sweet tooth. Adding a little cinnamon or ilaichi to your food and coffee or tea also add some flavour and helps to maintain your blood sugar levels Tea is key Green tea has zero calories and is loaded with antioxidants that helps to clear the system of any toxins and help in digestion of the food consumed. The catechin found in green tea have been proven to increase your metabolism even when you are not physically active which makes it an excellent alternative to your regular chai or other creamy beverages. Drink up Gustling down water is indeed the easiest thing you can do for your body to lose the love handles. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you’re likely to slow down that process, meaning it’s more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy breezy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly. One study showed that drinking a half liter (17 oz) of water about a half an hour before meals helped dieters eat fewer calories and lose 44% more weight. Indulge in moderation Once in a while it is fine to go easy and treat yourself to a favourite food like a cheesy pasta or a sinful dessert provided you have been good with your diet all week Count your calories There are studies showing that keeping a food diary and writing down what you eat, or taking pictures of all your meals, can help you lose weight. Anything that increases your awareness of what you are eating is likely to be useful.

Dear Jignesh add badam oil 1 tsp and coconut oil 1/2 tsp add 2 tsp of aloe vera to scalp in the evening and take bath next day with mild shampoo. U will get good result.

8 Types Abdominal and Pelvic Surgical Incisions

8 Types Abdominal and Pelvic Surgical Incisions

At the time of a surgical procedure, while making an incision a doctor has to take care of a number of factors before making an incision. Considering a number of factors, different types of incisions have come into fore, such as 

  1. Midline Incision: It’s the commonest incision and is done along the linea alba (fibrous structure running through the mid of the abdomen). These are preferred, especially in diagnostic laparotomy as it permits a wide access to the abdomen.
  2. Pfannenstiel Incision: It is transverse in nature, extending from the umbilicus to the pubic-symphysis. It is generally employed for abdominal hysterectomy of benign nature and caesarean section.
  3. Chevron Incision: It is an incision under the rib-cage and is done on the abdomen. It starts from beneath the ribs on the right abdomen and extends till the other mid axillary line. Thus, the entire abdominal width is incised for proper reach into the liver. The incision can be up to 2 feet.
  4. Kustner Incision: It is transverse in nature and extends from the symphysis pubis till the iliac spine (anterior). This type of incision takes time to perform. A Pfannenstiel incision offers more exposure than a Kustner incision.
  5. Lanz Incision: It is a variation of the more common mcburney-incision (also known as Gridiron’s incision). It is generally used for open appendectomies. There are quite a few variations for this type of an incision.
  6. Gridiron’s incision: It is done for appendectomies. It is an oblique short incision which is done in the lower right quadrant in the abdomen.
  7. Kocher’s Incision: It is oblique in nature, extending from the abdominal upper right quadrant and is generally used for performing an open cholecystectomy. Gallbladder, biliary tract and certain liver operations can be suited for a Kocher’s incision. This however is different from the same named incision used for the thyroid gland surgery.
  8. Cherney Incision: It is transverse in nature. It allows a great range of exposure for the pelvic sidewall. It is less painful than a midline incision. It allows for the greatest pelvic exposure and hence is a widely preferred and practiced incision.

Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation twice a day. Take mahayograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Fermented food. Spicy food. Rice. Walk for atleast 30 minutes a day. Do pranayama early morning. Sleep for atleast 7 hrs per day.

I have red spots on my skin on my whole body. They are something like a rash, and are burning. I also had a fever a few days ago but it broke yesterday. I am also suffering from weakness. Use any good sunscreen lotion at the time of work and regularly use any good calamine preparation for long time as home remedy, use rice powder mix with coconut water at bed time local application for crack foots.

Your hair needs a high protein well-rounded diet. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hair and nails are both protein fibers. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. Follow this best Diet plan for fastly reducing your weight naturally within 4 weeks. Before you start with this diet there are a few Things you should keep in mind to achieve best Results: * Stay away from Chocolates, cold drinks and any Other fatty but delicious food items for these 7 Days. * Do not do any weight training at Gym. This is Because once you gain muscles it will add to our Body weight. If you want you can only do 30 mins Brisk walking daily. * Try to drink as much water as you can during The day. Atleast 2-3 litres of water is Recommended every day. The 7 Day Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet Day 1 – Day one of your diet is to detox your Body and to drain out all kinds of toxins from it. Day 5 – This day belongs to Panner lovers. DO NOT make Paneer Bhurji or Paneer Ki Sabzi. Instead have it in the raw form or you can simply Roast paneer and put some Sendha Salt over it for Taste. Apart from Paneer you can also have Soya Been and Sprouts. Day 6 – This day you can take as many soups As you want and combine them with Paneer & Vegetables, as you consumed on day 5. You can Also consume a Panner Stuffed parantha with Very little oil in it. > Day 7 – This day you can consume combination Of Rice and vegetables. It is best if you consume Brown rice but if you do not like the taste then White boiled rice will also do the trick.. I can assure you that even if you follow 75% of the above diet restrictions for 7 days then You are guaranteed to lose atleast 3-5 Kgs.

I am having baldness from front (forehead) this maybe genetic I don't know exactly earlier I used to have dandruff which I got cleared by ketoconazole shampoo, now the hair re grown are weak, and gets dry very soon this also results in breakage over-all scalp, I am gyming regularly lifting heavy weight can this be the reason? But I am not on any supplement neither proteins nor pre workout, sometimes I get cold and sneezes in the morning can this be the reason of weak hair? Tell me what can I do to get strong, fully nourished hair? Massaging Onion juice will help?

Hi 1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 9. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. Eat things rich in vitamin c like amla and oranges. 10. Drink lots of water to flush out toxins from the body.
