I have bipolar disorder and ocd.
Soft bipolar you can say n some times panic attacks too.
The bipolar is a mood disorder particularly to do with anger. The OCD on the other hand has its basis in fear. It will be good to explore these emotions through therapy and get the support you need to remain stable. The combination is not really easy to deal. So you need to work with a counselor and a doctor to get the best results. Comply with all the medical prescriptions and work in tandem with a counselor for a long time and learn coping skills and techniques to handle the daily challenges you will face. There are certain adaptations that will suit you during the elation phase and there are certain behaviors that are required during the depressed phases. In the meantime you can do certain things that will give you benefits anyway. Emotional therapy will alleviate a lot of the problems faced in this condition because it is a mood disorder. You need to particularly look at your levels of anger both for its reasonableness and to express it in appropriate manner. I suspect that much of this anger may have origins in early childhood that you may never be aware of now. Talk to your parents and explore that angle. This information will help the counselor too. Also you will need to check whether there is any genetic factor involved. You must exercise regularly, eat healthily and sleep normally too. If your motivation and cooperation is good much can be achieved. You must have a time-structured schedule filled with interesting and reasonable activities and it must be monitored for compliance and delivery. The reason I say this is that many times you will be inclined to have grandiose notions and confidently believe that you can do without the medication. This will set you back many months in the treatment and delay and sabotage the recovery: forewarned you are forearmed. If this combination of medication with therapy is maintained for at least three years without any episodes or breakdowns, it is possible to taper the medication in consonance with the doctor. For the OCD it is a fear-based condition and for some reason you have not been dealing with this childhood fear which has now developed unto these repetitive adaptations to seem to need it for normal functioning. The behavior will then become based on magical thinking and certain rituals will become necessary to do normal things making you believe that either the frequency or the ritual is important to its success. This of course is a fallacy but there will come a time that even if told the truth, your belief will defy any logic and you will continue behaving like that even if it cripples you in your daily routines. It only appears as though some other force is behind these behaviors and that you are compelled to act in this fashion. That is obviously not true but no one can convince you of anything different. The obsession is a repeating thought pattern with no meaningful outcome; and the compulsiveness is the need to act on those obsessions also in a repeated behavior pattern as though you just cannot help yourself, like the plucking off of your hair. There are certain behavioral techniques to be implemented and if they work you may get out of this condition rather easily. If that does not work as desired, then medication has to be introduced, and in combination with counseling much work can be achieved.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Diabetes even when well controlled tends to affect peripheral nerves causing peripheral neuropathy. If the glucose levels are not in control then there can be a fairly severe neuropathy. This causes symptoms like numbness, tingling and pain in legs, feet and even upper limbs. So it is essential to achieve a strict blood glucose control with fasting glucose < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Otherwise consequences can be bad. There are some drugs used to treat diabetic neuropathy like combination of Methylcobalamine, Lipoleic acid, folic acid, plus for pain and other symptoms control drugs like pragabalin and/or gabapentine are used. But most important is to achieve a strict blood glucose control Thanks.

Diabetes can be controlled/managed by a proper regulated diet and exercise. 1. Eat every two hours mini meals. Don't eat big meals. Take more green vegetables/salads. 2. Eat whole grain food/grains like ragi, wheat, jowar instead of refined grains like maida/ sooji/ white bread etc. 3. Reduce foods with high GI Index like potato, white rice, banana, mango. 4. Avoid all forms of simple sugars like Colas, juices, sweets, cakes, biscuits, pizzas, noodles etc. 5. Eat daily fruits with low/medium GI index like apple, guava, mosambi, orange. 6. Eat lot of proteins like dals, sprouts, egg, chicken etc with every minimeal. 7. Drink lot of water. One glass every hour. 8. Do at least 30-45 mins of exercise everyday.

Hi, your anxiety issues, apparently, stem from your existing stomach ailments description of which pertains to ibs mostly. Do take plenty of water and stay hydrated. Have a healthy and balanced diet, with fresh and juicy fruits at least twice daily. Avoid citrus fruits. Avoid high calorie foods including fast foods. Simultaneously, also take a good multi-vitamin rich in b-vitamins, vitamin c, vitamin d3, vitamin e, omega-3 fatty acids and trace minerals including zinc, magnesium, potassium, calcium etc daily. Avoid all foods that you are allergic to and those which probably worsen your ibs symptoms. Restrict tea, coffee and sugary foods including carbonated beverages. Alcohol intake, if any, needs to be restricted completely. Do consume well ripened fruits especially papaya & banana. Buttermilk, with a pinch of fresh turmeric added, and coconut water too are immensely valuable in this condition. Do exercise daily for at least 30 minutes. Walking, in open air, is the safest as well as the best should you have no other health related constraints. Early morning yoga, pranayam and meditation shall also help you keep focussed, relaxed and help you connect with yourself better. It would facilitate face things, as they come, with ease and also enjoy every moment of your life by being able to give your best, irrespective of results. Hope this helps. Should you have issues still, you may connect with a gi specialist for further traction. Take care and all the very best.

8 Foods That Can Cause Your Belly To Bloat!

Do you feel your stomach bloat after meals? If you notice, this doesn't happen after every meal? Only at times. And at other times when you eat specific foods. Well, there are foods cause your stomach to bloat, so the wise thing to do is to know about them and avoid them!

Here are a few of the biggest criminals:

1. Cold drinks: Yes, these carbonated drinks have numerous side effects on your health. One of them is that they bloat your tummy. Beer happens to fall in this category too.

2. Dairy Products: For the lactose intolerant, dairy products are almost like poison. The intolerance can be mild, moderate of severe, but one of the symptoms is gas. You can try to limit your consumption of dairy products.

3. Apples: Apples and pears are known to contain a high percentage of fiber. While they are important for us and should be eaten, if is good to know that they can affect sensitive tummies. Eat bit by bit, and if it helps, peel the skin and then eat.

4. Few Vegies: While they are excellent health foods, asparagus, cabbage and broccoli are the vegetables which cause gas in the stomach, which in turn leads to bloating of the tummy.

5. Sodium: Sodium is also another reason for bloated tummies, so it is advised to limit salt intake.

6. Fast Foods: Fast foods like sausages, fried foods, ice cream, sweetened products , etc are known to cause the belly to bloat.

7. Rice Preparations: Rice is known to swell up inside the stomach once it gets water, hence making the stomach feel bloated.

8. Hard Drinks: Alcohol is also said to add weight near the stomach and make it feel bloated. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

It's good that there is no structural abnormalities in both of you and hence we have to plan your sexual activity during the time of ovulation days (ovulation strips are available in the medical store) and we also have to rule out on these days the chances of conception.

To prevent hemorrhoids, you want stool that is soft and easy to pass. You can reach the right consistency by making smart diet choices and drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration. ... Fiber can help you avoid constipation, and constipation — which leads to straining — is a risk factor for hemorrhoids.

Take the complete DOTS therapy without discontinuing it. It is the only way to clear TB. Or you can also consult a homeopathic doctor for this.
