I suspect the hymen is still intact. So it is causing pain and semen gets spurted out. Have a check with any doctor. Sometimes the tough hymen needs to be pierced surgically. See a doctor.

Infertility in Women - Know The Top 3 Reasons Behind It!

The inability to conceive after indulging in unprotected sex is known as infertility. It can also be referred to the biological incapability of a male to cause the conception or a woman being unable to carry the pregnancy for full-term. Research has shown that female problems contribute to over half of all the infertility cases while a majority of the other causes include sperm disorders.

Treatment of infertility depends on:

  1. Cause of Infertility
  2. Duration of Infertility
  3. Age of both partners
  4. Personal preferences

Causes:
Causes of infertility in women include:
1. Ovulation disorders: This is regarded as the most common cause of infertility in women. The disorders can be caused due to the following

  • Premature ovarian failure
  • PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome)
  • Poor egg quality
  • Hyperprolactinemia
  • Overactive or Underactive thyroid gland
  • Chronic conditions like cancer or AIDS.

2. Problems in fallopian tubes or uterus: Abnormalities in the uterus or fallopian tubes render the woman incapable of conceiving naturally. This might be due to:

  • Submucosal fibroids
  • Surgery
  • Endometriosis
  • Previous sterilization treatment

3. Medications: There is a possibility that treatment will cure infertility. Examples include NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. Treatment of infertility might involve a significant amount of psychological, physical, temporal and financial commitments. In men, treatment is done to treat lack of healthy sperm or general sexual problems. The treatments include:

  1. Medications
  2. Surgery
  3. Change in lifestyle
  4. Sperm retrieval

Even though it is possible to restore fertility in women using only one or two therapies, a number of treatments might be required before conception is possible. Some of these treatments include:

  1. Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
  2. Stimulation of ovulation with fertility drugs
  3. Surgery to restore fertility

In situations where pregnancy does not happen spontaneously, Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) can be used by couples to achieve pregnancy. It is a form of fertility treatment which involves the handling of sperm and egg. The entire ART team consists of psychologists, physicians, embryologists, nurses and lab technicians.

One common ART technique is In vitro fertilization (IVF). It is a process where an egg and sperms are manually combined in a laboratory dish, followed by transfer of embryo to the uterus. Some aspects involved in an IVF cycle are:

  1. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
  2. Assisted hatching
  3. Donor eggs or sperm
  4. Gestational carrier

Some complications that may occur during the treatment of infertility are:

  1. Multiple pregnancy
  2. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)

I had unprotected sex and took an Emergency contraceptive approx. 33 hours after. 9 day after this started bleeding even though my period is not due for at least another 6 days. Internet says it's breakthrough bleeding but it says that happens even when you are pregnant and now I am super scared. What are the chances I got pregnant when I had sex for like 7 minutes and nobody climaxed?

Hi lybrate-user, do not panic. An episode of bleeding after I -pill is almost always there. This is because the i-pill disturbs the inner lining of the uterus. This is an indication that the i-pill has worked. But there is a possibility of your next period being delayed and then you again start panicking. What you can do is. Wait for another week. If you do not get a period by then. Do a blood test called serum b-hcg. Send me the report. This will clearly tell us if there is a pregnancy or not. Then we can discuss further.

5 Ways You Can Deal With Sexual Frustration

Sexual frustration is very common and almost everyone experience it at some point in their lives. Sexual frustration can occur because of a lack of having a sexual partner or having a partner with whom you cannot fully sexually express yourself. Sometimes, having a partner who doesn't understand your sexual needs can become very frustrating. It is necessary to understand the root cause of this problem and take help to feel better.

How can you deal with sexual frustration?

  1. Masturbation: It is safe, healthy and makes you aware of your pleasure points. Masturbation is considered a taboo and is frowned upon in many societies. You will have to work on this and try and try to overcome this. Sexual frustration can also build up due to the lack of achieving an orgasm. By masturbating daily, one can release endorphins in the body. Endorphins are a chemical which act as a natural stress buster and thus can ease the levels of anxiety and stress. Achieving an orgasm through masturbation can also release chemicals like oxytocin and dopamine which help you to relax your muscles.
  2. Accept yourself: Sexual frustration can also arise because of low self confidence of your body. Many men and women think that they might not get a sexual partner because they are unlovable, unworthy or unattractive. Learn to accept yourself so that you can reduce sexual frustration. Surround yourself with people who care for you and make you feel positive. Stop feeling guilty of your body image and learn to love yourself the way you are.
  3. Stop focusing on orgasms: Many times we concentrate way too much on achieving an orgasm and thus, we become depressed when we fail to achieve one. Try to focus on other things and try to enjoy the intercourse rather than being fixated on achieving an orgasm.
  4. Take professional help: Sometimes sexual frustration can occur from anxiety, stress and depression. A history of sexual abuse can also restrict you from enjoying it  with your partner which results to sexual frustration. Booking an appointment with a sex therapist or a counselor can help you reduce depression and combat sexual frustration. Thus, don’t be afraid or feel inhibitions in seeking professional help.
  5. Experiment more: If you have been in a relationship with your partner for a long time, it is possible that sex becomes less exciting and intense which leads to sexual frustration. It is important to experiment with sex to spice up your sex life. Try engaging in role play, erotic story-telling and light forms of titillation such as BDSM (Bondage, Dominance and Submission and Masochism) or other role playing techniques.

Hello- A gap of more than three years after the first pregnancy is not good for the health of the uterus. It lead towards infertility some times. It is due to the vitiation of vata dosha in the uterus which make it difficult to implant a pregnancy after the intercourse. Start BASTI Panchakarma of ayurveda , it will be beneficial in making the uterus susceptible towards pregnancy.

Hi lybrate-user If the periods are delayed just by 4 days then you need to wait more for 5- 6 days. It is not necessary that you will get pregnant. As there are alot of other reasons of delayed menses such as stress, hormonal imbalance. After 5-6 days if it has still not comes then take a pregnancy test. The result will tell you. Till then do not stress upon it. Takecare.

4 Steps to Control Your Phobia!

Everybody has fears. But when is it a phobia and not simply a fear? There are certain symptoms to look out for such as difficulty breathing, feeling dizzy or light headed, trembling or shaking, feeling overwhelmed, fear of losing control, an intense need to leave the space etc. Phobias can be categorized into many different types like animal phobias (snakes, spiders, rodents etc.), natural environment phobias (heights, storms, water, dark etc.), situational phobias (enclosed spaces, flying, driving etc.) and blood-injection-injury phobias (illness, needles, medical procedures etc.).

It is important to know when it is time to seek help for your phobia. Some ways you could know are:

  1. You recognize the fear is unreasonable and excessive
  2. You start avoiding certain places and situations
  3. Your avoidance interferes with daily functioning
  4. You’ve had the phobia for at least 6 months

In the meanwhile, follow these steps to help control your phobia:

1.  Make a list:

Make a list of all the situations related to your phobia that you are frightened of. For example, if you are afraid of flying, your list may include waiting at the security point, booking your ticket, watching other planes take off or land etc.

2. Create you fear ladder:

Arrange the items on your list from least to most scary. The first item can induce anxiety but not so much that it stops you from trying it. When creating this ladder, keep in mind what you want your end goal to be, this can help you breakdown the items easier.

3. Work your way down the ladder:

Start working your way down the ladder taking it one step at a time. Start with the first item on your list then only when you are comfortable with that should you move on to the next item. It is important to wait until the item you are on no longer gives you any anxiety before moving on the next one.

4. Practice:

It is important to practice this as often as you can. Repeated exposure to the fear will reduce the anxiety being felt. That being said, don’t rush through the steps. Go at a pace you are comfortable with and don’t move on until you on longer feel anxious in that situation.

While you are going through the items it is important to consciously breathe when anxious. When we are anxious our breathing gets hitched, our heart rate increases and we star sweating. When this happens, it is important to take some deep breaths and relax your whatever muscles are tensing. When your breathing normalizes again try going into the situation again to breathe deeply while doing so.

If cycle is regular concentrate to maintain current weight. Resrict excessive use of high calorie diet like milk products like curd, butter, ghee, ice crem, sweets etc. Cocco products, jams, ketchup also. Minimum use of underground vegitables like pottato, beet etc. Moderate non veg. Do not use excessive sweet fruits like chikku, mango, banana etc. Review after 3months.

You may also try pulsatilla 30.1-2 drops in 1/4 cup of luke warm water for 6 days at approximate due date if there is excessive flow initially do not worry. Follow up treatment thereafter on personal messenger.

Hello Lybrate user, Dark vaginal color may be due to hyper pigmentation, it may be due to the side effects of using certain medications or lubricating creams. It may occurs due to wearing of polyster or synthetic underwear. Always wear cotton underwear. Do not use too tight underwear and allow free movement of air. Here are following tips to lighten the dark vaginal area :- Clean the vagina regularly. Apply a mixture of lemon juice and turmeric paste, it is a natural bleach to treat this darkening. Take slice of papaya and rub it against the dark pigmented area of vagina. Clean the vagina with baking soda, is also one of the reliable remedy for dark vagina. Avoid using any kind of talcum powder on the vagina. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, both contain vitamins that are necessary for skin health. Chances are very less for her to get pregnant, but still wait right now, after 1 week of her due date i. E. Till 31st if she donot get her periods then tell her to undergo urine pregnancy test once. Till then wait and watch.

6. ब्रोकोली:

7. लहसुन:
