Hello sir, I am 22 years old boy and I am not feeling well from internally by day I am getting weak and feeling lazy and whole body pains. What should i do?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hi, thanks for the query. Our nutrient needs differ in each phase of our life. Diet is the fuel for our body. It is important to know that just eating two heavy meals a day will not fulfill your nutrient needs. Most often we skip meals especially when at work or in college. We start our day on empty stomach but our work or stress or activity is never reduced. This causes weakness and lack of energy levels. Food is our source of energy and if you don't eat well as per your needs you are going to get deficient in many nutrients. So, start by eating the right foods at the right time. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. You should feel better and energetic in a few days.

Hello, to get your body fit and inbuilt try to follow some suggestions: eat an appropriate, healthy balanced diet containing all the nutrients your body requires. A proper diet contains the right balance of carbohydrates, protein, fruits and vegetables, and fat. For carbohydrates, eat whole grains. Lean meat is the best source of protein. Try to get at least 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Eating a small amount of fat is needed to keep your body functioning smoothly.[1] drink water. It is key in making you run throughout the day. Try drinking 8 eight-ounce glasses of water each day. It helps you re-energize and keep going. Not drinking enough fresh water can lead to acne, headaches, and even dehydration. Do this, and you'll become a very healthy person. Have physicals regularly. Get your shots and booster shots. Take medicines the doctor tells you to take. Get tested for allergies. Get blood tests to figure out things like your cholesterol levels. Find out if you have any conditions and treat any you do have.

Gaining weight may take sometime so you have to be little patient. Introduce healthy diet by adding shakes (banana shake, mango shake) with stuffed roti (stuffed with paneer, gobgi, dal) or you can take milk +musseli/ wheat flakes etc. Try to have frequent meals (within 2-2.5 hrs. Do not skip any of your meal. If you are non-vegetarian then you can include egg, chicken, red meat, fish in your diet. Team nutrihealth.

The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency. The fat that you are carrying around was accumulated in years. So how can you expect to lose it in mere days. 1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: monday/thursday: chest + triceps tuesday/friday: back + biceps wednesday/saturday: legs + shoulders don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2. Eat healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein.

Please note the followings in respect to your queries: Banana and Milk -- Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals. Note – Don’t eat bananas when you are down with common cold. -- Peanut butter is a yummy spread for toast and bread. If you’re trying to gain weight, feel free to go for this high-calorie and nutritious food. Apply it on your whole wheat bread for breakfast and see how your weight increases within a short period of time. •Besides, you can spread a spoonful of peanut butter on fruits or vegetables like banana, apple slices, fresh berries, wheat germ or applesauce. •Alternatively, a peanut butter sandwich is also a good choice If you are suffering from any disease that needs to be treated. Do blood test for - routine/liver function test first. Find a great personal trainer and yoga instructor to keep you consistent. Take Nux vom 30 - thrice daily for next 7 days Continue treatment.

How to Lose Weight in the Right Way

In our everyday eat-and-run, huge-portion-sized culture, maintaining a healthy weight can be a challenge, and losing weight can be a massive challenge. While there is no easy fix to weight loss, there are plenty of steps that you can take to develop a healthy relationship with food, curb emotional triggers to overeating, and achieve long-lasting safe weight-loss. Here are a few safe options to lose weight the right way.

Cut out high-calorie condiments, sugars and refined carbs:

In spite of aiming to cut down on carbs, most of us consume way more sugar and refined carbohydrates than we actually plan to. Eliminating candy and desserts from our diet is not the only solution, though. Sugar is hidden in foods as diverse as bread, canned soups, pasta sauces, margarines and many foods labelled low fat. All this hidden sugar quantifies to nothing but a lot of empty calories.

Plump for low sugar products and use fresh ingredients instead of canned goods whenever possible. By slowly reducing sugar in your diet, you will give your taste buds time to adjust to the change and will be able to wean yourself off the craving for sweets.

According to dietician in bandra, in order to avoid insalubrious spikes in blood sugar, avoid refined carbs like white bread, white rice or pasta, and go for their whole-grain counterparts instead.

Hoof it up:
Exercise is the key to weight loss. Recent studies show that people who manage to exercise at least one fifty minutes per week are more successful with weight loss. People who do not have time to exercise can make a few small lifestyle changes, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking the car a bit farther from the destination, so that they will have to walk.

Drink it down:
Water can be considered as liquid gold when it comes to weight loss. Water powers your workouts, boosts your energy and increases your metabolism. It also helps you heed your hunger cues and keeps you from drinking other things. Drinking more water may decrease calorie intake and reduce the risk of long-term weight gain and obesity. Drinking water before meals will reduce appetite and intake, thus leading to weight loss.

Try the veggie-loaded plate method:
Many best nutritionist recommend using your plate to guide your food selection and portion sizes. You can fill one half of your plate with vegetables and the other half can be split between protein and starchy carbohydrates. And if you decide to go for a second serving, it better be all vegetables. Studies have shown that people who consume five or more servings of fruits and vegetables per day are more successful with weight loss.

Work flax seeds into your routine:
One of the easiest and safest things according to best dietitian in kemps corner, warden road, nepeansea road, you can do to speed up your weight loss is to incorporate at least two tablespoons of flax seeds into your daily food regime. You can add it to your morning oatmeal, blend it with your smoothie or sprinkle it over your soup or salad. Flax seeds are the epitome of nutritional benefits and a great source of soluble fiber. They help in lowering cholesterol levels and make you feel fuller for a longer time.

Is weight gain powder like nutrigain amway are safe for consumption in order to gain weight.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye, thanks for the query. The moment you think of weight gain, whatever is your workout or diet intake, does not justify taking a supplement. You cannot gain weight by just adding a supplement to your diet. Weight gain needs additional calories through a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats and exercise. Supplementation totally depends on your present food intake & activity levels. So, for weight gain you need a balanced, calorie dense diet and a good exercise routine. Even if you do gain weight it will reduce once you discontinue the supplement. So, before you decide to start the supplement first work on a healthy diet and exercise routine.

A good way to diffuse general body pains: 1.take a long hot bath in water in which a few cups of Epsom salts have been added. 2.If you suspect your body and pains are due to stress-get plenty of sleep and try to reduce or eliminate the cause of your stress. 3.Meditation, deep breathing and yoga.

You can injure your shoulder by performing manual labor, playing sports, or even by repetitive movement. Certain diseases can bring about pain that travels to the shoulder. These include diseases of the cervical spine of the neck, as well as liver, heart, or gallbladder disease. In many cases, you can treat shoulder pain at home. However, physical therapy, medications, or surgery may also be necessary. Some minor shoulder pain can be treated at home. Icing the shoulder for 15 to 20 minutes three or four times a day for several days can help reduce pain. Use an ice bag or wrap ice in a towel because putting ice directly on your skin can cause frostbite and burn the skin.
