My foot below the ankle is paining a lot. Not able to walk too. I am diabetic and I have BP too. What should I do?
You might be having heel spurs (bony outgrowth at the heel) which causes pain while walking or your achilles tendon could be inflamed, after examination only exact cause can be known. Since you are diabetic you need to take extra precautions to keep your foot clean and avoid any complications like diabetic foot or diabetic neuropathy. Immerse your foot in a tub of lukewarm water with epsom salt for 3 min then alternately in a tub of ice cold water. Repeat this 3 times and so some ankle-toe exercises.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. I can advise you on your back pain issues but you will have to motivate yourself to quit smoking or join some de addiction centre for that. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Prolonged working on laptop/tv/mobile can cause computer vision syndrome. Computer vision syndrome is a condition resulting from focusing the eyes on a computer or other display device for, uninterrupted periods of time. Some symptoms of cvs include a. Headaches b blurred vision c. Neck pain d redness in the eyes e. Eye strain f dry eyes sometimes watery eyes these symptoms can be further aggravated by improper lighting conditions. Measures to reduce this include 1. Work under proper light. 2. Blink a lot. 3. Cold compresses 4. Use good lubricating eyedrop.

It would take around 3 months, if you could go for some regular physiotherapy, then possibilities of making speedy recovery and to encourage freedom of movements and to strengthen the muscles of shoulder girdle.

Reduce your weight. Improve posture. Avoid forward bending. Use hard bed. Start hot saline fomentation followed by volini gel and back exercises.
