Hello Pavan, *Pimples can happen because of hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety, increase in the intake of oily and fatty foods, increase in weight and even because of dandruff. * In case of severe pimples, you will have to take medicines but it is necessary to see the severity of the pimples in order to suggest the most suitable medicine for you. If you can send a picture of your face, I will be in better position to judge the severity of your pimples. * You will have to follow certain dietary changes - Drink atleast 3-4 liters of water everyday, eat a lot of salads and at least one fruit in a day. Avoid oily and fatty foods and non veg food as much as you can.

6 Main Reasons Skin Hyperpigmentation is Very Common in India

MD - Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Delhi
6 Main Reasons Skin Hyperpigmentation is Very Common in India

6 Main Causes of Skin Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition characterised by dark patches, occurring mainly due to excessive melanin (a skin pigment) production. This form of skin condition is not specific to any particular age group or category of people, but it is more commonly observed among people of Mediterranean, Asian, Latin, or African origin. Also, any part of your body including hands, face and neck can be affected by this condition.

Here are some of the most common factors that can cause skin hyperpigmentation.

1. Sun exposure

If your skin is exposed to sunlight for a long period of time, it can result in hyperpigmentation. It happens due to the inflammation of the skin caused by the action of UV rays present in sunlight. This skin inflammation plays a significant role in activating melanocytes (skin cells that generate melanin), giving you dark patches of skin.

2. Hormonal changes

Triggered by the consumption of a pill or pregnancy, hormonal changes in your body are also responsible for stimulating growth of melanin.  This disturbance in the chemical balance of your body causes hyperpigmentation in the form of ‘melasma’ (a common skin condition characterised by grey-brown patches on skin surface).

3. Specific drugs

Sometimes hyperpigmentation is drug-induced and happens due to the effect of certain medications like antibiotics, anti-seizure drugs, Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and hormone treatments. This mainly happens due to the reaction of these drugs with melanin resulting in the formation of a drug-pigment complex that leaves dark patches on the skin.

4. Heredity

In some cases, you can get hyperpigmentation if you have a prevailing family history of the disease. This skin condition is sometimes carried by the genes onto the next generation.

5. Acne

It often happens that acne leaves back scars in the form of dark spots after healing. These dark spots are most commonly termed as Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH).  They occur as your skin produces excessive melanin in response to the skin infection.

6. Excessive use of chemical products

Exposing your skin to harsh chemicals, present mostly in chemical products like hair removing creams, wax etc. can result in skin inflammation resulting in Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation.

Why we get the white hair on head at young age like at 17 or 16 year of age answer.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Why we get the white hair on head at young age like at 17 or 16 year of age answer.
• Graying or whitening of hair earlier than expected usually runs in the family. • Long periods under stress due to work intensity and tension. • A serious disease like typhoid can also act as the catalyst for graying of hair. • Intake of too much of alcohol, tea and coffee can cause graying of hair as well. • Eating too many oily and fried foods is another reason for graying of hair. • Using excessive amount of spices in your food. • Integrating too many food items that are sour and acidic in your diet. • Not having essential nutrients like copper in your food can also cause grey hair as melanin’s production gets hit due to the deficiency. • Lack of Vitamin C and Vitamin B in your diet.

I would suggest to avoid facial as its an oily skin. Instead use home made face pack of multani mitti+rose water+turmeric twice a week. Do not use any cream except sunscreen. You can use any mild face wash just to remove dirt.

Hello, dandruff causes hair loss so its necessary to treat dandruff first. Take thuja 200, 5 drops in the morning, once in a week. Take mezerium 30 ch, 3 drops once daily. Take arnica q and cochleria arom. Q in equal amount, mix with equal amount of coconut oil, and apply this on your scalp, thrice a day. Wash your hair with b&t anti- dandruff shampoo. Home remedies are as follows:- coconut oil helps eliminate dandruff due to its antifungal properties. It also moisturizes dry scalp and provides relief from itching. Take some coconut oil and mix half the amount of lemon juice in it. 1. Rub it on your scalp and massage for a few minutes. 2. Wash your hair after at least 20 minutes. 3. Follow this remedy two to three times a week. Revert me after 1 month.

All About Scabies

All About Scabies

Scabies is a type of a skin condition that is characterized by itching and rashes. This dermatological condition is caused by sarcoptes scabiei, a type of microscopic mite. A contagious condition, scabies spreads through physical contact. It usually transmits through clothes, towels, sexual contact and other such ways. An estimate shows that scabies infect over 300 million humans worldwide per year.
This eight-legged microscopic mite creates a tunnel in the human skin and lays eggs in it. These larvae move under the surface of the skin and spread across the whole body, once hatched. Dogs, cats and mice can also be affected by the disease. It usually takes 2-6 weeks for the symptoms to develop. Signs and symptoms of scabies involve itching, rashes, sores and thick crusts on the surface of the skin.

Some of the risk factors of scabies are:

  1. Scabies spreads through direct, prolonged skin-to-skin contact with a person who has mites.
  2. An infected person can easily pass scabies to his/her household or sexual partners. Scabies in adults is usually sexually acquired.
  3. The likelihood of scabies increases easily under crowded conditions which involves close body and skin contact. Nursing homes, prisons, and several types of care facilities are sites of scabies outbreaks.
  4. Immunocompromised, elderly and disabled people also suffer from an increased likelihood of contracting such.

Complications of scabies include:

  1. Persistent and vigorous scratching can break the surface of your skin which can lead to secondary bacterial infections. Impetigo, a superficial infection is quite a common occurrence in case of such.
  2. Crusted scabies is the most severe form of scabies which is common among certain groups. People suffering from diseases such as HIV or leukemia and severely ill people who have weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of contracting this condition. This condition, also known as Norwegian scabies is very contagious and also hard to cure.

Depending on the symptoms and severity of the condition, appropriate medications and creams are prescribed by medical professionals.

You could be having vitiligo. Vitiligo is a condition where white patches develop on your skin. It is due to loss of colour (pigment) from areas of your skin. There are usually no other symptoms but the appearance of your skin can be distressing. Affected areas of skin can be covered by skin camouflage creams. Treatment has improved in recent years and in some cases the pigment can be restored.
