If external application of ointment gives you relief then it may be a case of chest muscle strain. So there is no health risk. But you should be working towards reducing your cholesterol. At this age, high cholesterol can be harmful to the heart. Go for a ecg and a echo. Consult a physician to rule out any cardiac ailments.

Two years ago, On September 5th 2015 I had protected sex with a Prostitute. She had put on me two condoms. I tried to have sex with her, I just put my penis in her vagina 10_15 times, but somehow I ended up masturbating with my own hand (& my other hands palm on her vagina) with the condom on. I am uncircumcised male. After masturbating I just removed the condom & I might have had touched the foreskin of my penis. I tested for Hiv hbv and vdrl & all of them were negative. I had itching on foreskin of my penis a week back i.e 2017 Sept. My doctor said it was thrush. There are no Chlamydia & Gonorrhea testing in my city or near my City. In two years I have not noticed any Thick Discharge from my penis, except the semen after I masturbate. I have not felt any noticeable pain while urinating. Recently I had watery white discharge from my penis (i don't know it is due to thrush, masturbation or sti). I am afraid I have gonorrhea or chlamydia which might have stayed dormant for 2 years without symptoms. Should I take treatment for them (i have read Azithromycin 1g & Cefixime 400 mg) without testing, as there are no testing centers here. Please help & what will Happen if I take the treatment without any infection when im perfectly fine. Please help.

What you are describing is vague. It is not advisable to take empirical treatment for STDs. You may become resistant. It can not be thrush, if you are HIV negative and diabetes negative.

Hello. My husband has cholesterol and takes a Crevast 5 everyday. His levels are in the normal range whenever he takes the tablets but when he stopped the tablets for 3 months the levels again rose. His good cholesterol is around 35 and bad cholesterol is 143 after taking tablet. Please advise if this tablet has to be taken for life and what are the potential side effects of doing so.

1) There are quite a lot of patients who require regular medication for life to keep their cholesterol in check and stopping the medicine leads to rise in levels, and so the medication should not be stopped. 2) Along with medications lifestyle measures are an essential part of cholesterol treatment and include - daily 30 mins of exercise like brisk walking etc, eating a healthy diet, no smoking and avoid excessive alcohol intake. 3) As far as side-effects are concerned, crevast (especially in the small dose that your husband is taking) has minimal side effects like muscle ache in some cases, and rise in liver function tests, but it is not known to cause any long lasting damage. For this you can get a routine LFT done every 6 months and remain in follow up of your doctor.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. SIZE, THICKNESS AND HARDNESS of penis never matters in a sexual intercourse. Love and passion matters and determines the sexual pleasure. Usually, in flaccid condition, the size will be less than 2 inches. Average size of erect penis is 4 inches. But even a two inch erect penis can satisfy any woman across the world just because, woman sexual nerve endings which are the reason for pleasure for women, are available only up to two inches from the opening of vagina. Therefore, please don't worry. You can improve the size of your penis by massaging it with olive oil and doing kegal pelvic strengthening exercises. Furbah oil is a good unani medicine for you to use externally. Muira Puama and Catuaba are good homeopathic remedies. Jelqing is the backbone of different penis enlargement exercises. Jelqing exercises are to improve the hardness and size of the penis in men. Bananas are Good for your heart and for your blood flow, and therefore bananas are recommended food for penis enlargement and increased sexual stamina. It contains many vitamins and minerals suitable for penis enlargement. I suggest online sex education and counseling. Take care.

Few Things You Should Know When Living With A Heart Patient!

Few Things You Should Know When Living With A Heart Patient!

The heart is a muscle that pumps blood to the body through a network of arteries and veins controlled by valves. A heart disease could mean a problem in any of these organs, heart per se, the blood vessels, or the valves. Like it or not, heart problem is a chronic condition. It starts without any notice, and for sure, it is not going to go away completely. What can be done, though, is to manage it beautifully and lives and enjoy life so that the heart disease is not stopping you.

When there is a person with the chronic condition, it is not just that person who is affected, but the near and dear ones as well. When heading out for a dinner or when planning a gathering, there would be certain things that need to be accounted for and considered to accommodate the needs of the affected person. These very soon become a way of life and can be done effortlessly.

The following are some things to bear in mind when living with a heart patient.

  1. Diet: Heart patients would have some dietary preferences based on the heart condition per se. This may include a need for more whole grains and vegetables, need for specific types of oils, specific cooking methods, etc. At home, it is essential to ensure these things are always stocked up. When heading out, whether it is to visit someone or out for a meal, take into account whether these would be available. The next best option should be kept in mind so that dietary intake is not affected. Gradually, with time, substitutes can be identified with which they could manage in most places.
  2. Medications: Make sure the medication kit is always readily available. Make sure the person does not miss any medications, whether at home or outside. Ensure the regular medicines are in stock and some common emergency ones are also readily available.
  3. Routine: Whether it is their morning walk or yoga or meditation, it is better to stick to the routine as much as possible. The person also should learn to adapt based on circumstances; however, to the maximum extent possible, these should be continued without major interruption.
  4. Monitoring: Be it blood pressure, sugar levels or weight, these need to be monitored regularly and any deviations should be brought to the notice of the doctor immediately.
  5. Other equipment: Whether it is a walker, inhaler, or a wheelchair, these should be functional and available. The home or the living place should not be cluttered to allow for the easy use of this equipment.

While these may initially require some effort, with time, it would just happen naturally. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Cardiologist.

Causes of Neck Pain and Diagnosis

Causes of Neck Pain and Diagnosis

A pain in the neck, both in the metaphorical and the literal sense of the term can be quite discomforting. If we look at it from a medical point of view, the pain in the neck could be a serious sign of something being amiss and so, keeping in mind the causes of such a pain is just so important!

Recognizing the Type of Neck Pain

A pain in the neck can manifest itself in a variety of ways. Also, it need not also follow the textbook definition of the term. As a matter of fact, tingling, tenderness or numbness can also be significant symptoms of neck pain. Another major symptom can be having difficulty while swallowing. This could be much more crucial than just a problem with the digestive system.

Many cases that doctors come across when a patient comes to consult about a pain in the neck are regarding an issue with the spinal cord. At in certain cases, it could be related to an issue with the muscles which are located in the area.

When a person has neck pain, he or she should think back and try to remember if he or she was in an incident where the neck could have possibly been the recipient of some sort of impact. This could be a possible explanation of the pain. Also, if there is a pain in the neck after an incident, it is better not to delay a visit to the doctor as the person is likely to be uncomfortable. The neglect is this condition can also lead to the problem getting progressively worse.

In some cases, a pain in the neck can even be congenital. A very good example of this is wry neck, or torticollis. When a pain in the neck is diagnosed by the doctor, figuring out what the likely cause is quite an important thing to do and should be the first thing which is done by him or her as the various ways to treat a pain in the neck vary according to the cause of it.

The problem of neck pain is very common as two third of the population suffers from it at some point in their lives. This does not mean that it needs to affect a person's quality of life. The right precautions and proper medication can make sure that his or her neck is not on the line!

Sir. I have hepatitis b from 1 year but viral load is negative sir what treatment to remove hepatitis b from body and what type of best diet for me.

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
1. There is no treatment that eradicates hepatitis b infection completely. 2. However treatment is available to arrest the liver damage and subsequent development of cirrhosis of liver/carcinoma of liver 3. In most of the cases the hepatitis b virus automatically gets cleared from the blood within 6 months. If the virus persists after 6 months it is known as chronic hepatitis b 4.30-90% of patient suffering from chronic hepatitis b subsequently develop cirrhosis of liver/carcinoma of liver if not treated 5. You have to regularly do the blood test to monitor hbsag, hbeag hbv dna, real time pcr for viral load (rapid diagnostic test), liver function test for sgot/sgpt 6. Criteria for starting anti viral drugs a) patient should be observed for 6 months b) if sgot (alt/sgpt (ast) level is more than two times the normal value), hbeag is positive, hbvdna is more than 20, 000/ml, and liver biopsy showing necro inflammatory changes, he may require treatment with anti viral drugs. C) consult hepatologist/gastro enterologist for further advice.
