Hello, if she has diabetes and high blood pressure, it is necessary to control both the conditions effectively, to prevent possible long term chronic complications of both the diseases. Looking at her height & weight it is clear that she is having grade 1 obesity with a bmi of 30.5 kgs/m2. This itself may be the reason for uncontrolled blood glucose level. Her ideal body weight should be 50 kgs, so she carries 12 kgs extra weight. Reduction of weight, regular exercise and diet control will definitely help in bringing her blood glucose under excellent control. Her bp is fine, blood glucose has to be controlled better. It appears there has to be a total relook at the treatment, diet and extent of daily exercise. When in control fbs should be around 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg, hba1c%<6.8. Thanks.

Psoriasis is manageable, the traditional approach is to start with the mildest treatments topical creams and ultraviolet light therapy (phototherapy) and then progress to stronger ones only if necessary. The goal is to find the most effective way to slow cell turnover with the fewest possible side effects coupled with a dietary therapy specially designed to manage psoriasis. Do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan including dietary therapy.

Migraine Clinical Picture

What Symptoms Occur During a Migraine Attack?

Migraineurs have recurrent, severe, and disabling attacks of headache, often unilateral and pulsating, along with symptoms of sensory disturbance, such as light, sound, and odor sensitivity. Nausea and neck stiffness are other common symptoms, and symptoms can be aggravated by movement.

• Some patients experience dizziness during attacks.

• About 20–30% of patients experience aura and neurological symptoms (e.g., visual disturbances), which usually precede the headache phase of an attack.

• Premonitory symptoms such as yawning, irritability, tiredness, cravings, and difficulty concentrating sometimes precede headache onset.

What Is Migraine Aura, and What Symptoms Can Occur?

• An aura is any neurological symptom that occurs shortly before the headache attack. Visual symptoms (e.g., flickering lights or zigzag phenomena), somatosensory symptoms (e.g., paresthesias), speech problems, and rarely, motor symptoms can occur during aura.

• Symptoms usually last >5 and <60 minutes.

• Before migraine can be diagnosed, other possible neurological deficits must first be excluded.

• Cortical spreading depression (see below) is thought to be the pathophysiological cause.

What Can Trigger a Migraine?

• Menstruation

• Shortness of sleep, irregular sleep, or too much sleep

• Stress (or in some patients, relaxation from stress)

• Alcohol (e.g., red wine)

• Caffeine (e.g., coffee, chocolate)

• Foods containing glutamate or aspartame

• Dehydration

• Vasodilating drugs (e.g., nitrates) Epidemiology

How Many People Are Affected by Migraine?

• Women: about 13–18% of the population

• Men: about 5–10% of the population

• Numbers may be lower in Asian populations Chronic Migraine About 4% of the adult population experiences chronic headache, i.e., headache on 15 or more days a month. About half of this group has chronic migraine, and the other half has chronic tension-type headache  Disorders/Abnormalities That Can Be Comorbid with Migraine

What should I do to get early sleep I mean I vl become unconscious after 30 or 1 hour after I slept.

What should I do to get early sleep I mean I vl become unconscious after 30 or 1 hour after I slept.
Tips for Better Sleep 1. Power Down The soft blue glow from a cell phone, tablet, or digital clock on your bedside table may hurt your sleep. Tip: Turn off TVs, computers, and other blue-light sources an hour before you go to bed. Cover any displays you can't shut off. 2. Nix Naps You’ll rest better at night. But if you have to snooze while the sun's up, keep it to 20 minutes or less. Nap in the early part of the day. Tip: Overcome an afternoon energy slump with a short walk, a glass of ice water, or a phone call with a friend. 3. Block Your Clock Do you glance at it several times a night? That can make your mind race with thoughts about the day to come, which can keep you awake. Tip: Put your alarm clock I 4. Try a Leg Pillow for Back Pain Your lower back may not hurt enough to wake you up, but mild pain can disturb the deep, restful stages of sleep. Put a pillow between your legs to align your hips better and stress your low back less. Tip: Do you sleep on your back? Tuck a pillow under your knees to ease pain. 5. Put Your Neck in 'Neutral' Blame your pillow if you wake up tired with a stiff neck. It should be just the right size -- not too fat and not too flat -- to support the natural curve of your neck when you're resting on your back. Do you sleep on your side? Line your nose up with the center of your body. Don’t snooze on your stomach. It twists your neck. Tip: Use good posture before bed, too. Don't crane your neck to watch TV. 6. Seal Your Mattress Sneezes, sniffles, and itchiness from allergies can lead to lousy shut-eye. Your mattress may hold the cause. Over time, it can fill with mold, dust mite droppings, and other allergy triggers. Seal your mattress, box springs, and pillows to avoid them. Tip: Air-tight, plastic, dust-proof covers work best. 7. Save Your Bed for Sleep and Sex Your bedroom should feel relaxing. Don’t sit in bed and work, surf the Internet, or watch TV. Tip: The best sleep temperature for most people is between 68-72 degrees. 8. Set Your Body Clock Go to sleep and wake up at roughly the same time every day, even on weekends. This routine will get your brain and body used to being on a healthy snooze-wake schedule. In time, you'll be able to nod off quickly and rest soundly through the night. Tip: Get out in bright light for 5 to 30 minutes as soon as you get out of bed. Light tells your body to get going 9. Look for Hidden Caffeine Coffee in the morning is fine for most people. But as soon as the clock strikes noon, avoid caffeine in foods and drinks. Even small amounts found in chocolate can affect your Zzzz's later that night. Tip: Read labels. Some pain relievers and weight loss pills contain caffeine. 10. Work Out Wisely Regular exercise helps you sleep better -- as long as you don’t get it in too close to bedtime. A post-workout burst of energy can keep you awake. Aim to finish any vigorous exercise 3 to 4 hours before you head to bed. Tip: Gentle mind-body exercises, like yoga or tai chi, are great to do just before you hit the sack. 11. Eat Right at Night Don’t eat heavy foods and big meals too late. They overload your digestive system, which affects how well you sleep. Have a light evening snack of cereal with milk or crackers and cheese instead. Tip: Finish eating at least an hour before bed. 12. Rethink Your Drink Alcohol can make you sleepy at bedtime, but beware. After its initial effects wear off, it will make you wake up more often overnight. Tip: Warm milk or chamomile tea are better choices. 13. Watch What Time You Sip Want to lower your odds of needing nighttime trips to the bathroom? Don’t drink anything in the last 2 hours before bed. If you have to get up at night, it can be hard to get back to sleep quickly. Tip: Keep a nightlight in the bathroom to minimize bright light. 14. Lower the Lights Dim them around your home 2 to 3 hours before bedtime. Lower light levels signal your brain to make melatonin, the hormone that brings on sleep. Tip: Use a 15-watt bulb if you read in the last hour before bed. 15. Hush Noise Faucet drips, nearby traffic, or a loud dog can chip away at your sleep. And if you're a parent, you might be all too aware of noises at night long after your children have outgrown their cribs. Tip: Use a fan, an air-conditioner, or a white noise app or machine. You can also try ear plugs. 16. Turn Down Tobacco Nicotine is a stimulant, just like caffeine. Tobacco can keep you from falling asleep and make insomnia worse. Tip: Many people try several times before they kick the habit. Ask your doctor for help. 17. Beds Are for People A cat's or a dog's night moves can cut your sleep short. They can also bring allergy triggers like fleas, fur, dander, and pollen into your bed. Tip: Ask your vet or animal trainer how you can teach your pet to snooze happily in its own bed. 18. Free Your Mind Put aside any work, touchy discussions, or complicated decisions 2 to 3 hours before bed. It takes time to turn off the "noise" of the day. If you’ve still got a lot on your mind, jot it down and let go for the night. Then, about an hour before you hit the sack, read something calming, meditate, listen to quiet music, or take a warm bath. Tip: Even 10 minutes of relaxation makes a difference. 19. Use Caution with Sleeping Pills Some sleep medicines can become habit-forming, and they may have side effects. Ideally, pills should be a short-term solution while you make lifestyle changes for better Zzzz's. Ask your doctor what’s OK. 20. Know When to See Your Doctor Let her know if your sleeplessness lasts for a month or more. She can check to see if a health condition -- such as acid reflux, arthritis, asthma, or depression -- or a medicine you take is part of the problem.

What type of burn should be treated at home and when to hospitalise. We may not understand percentage but narrate the symptoms to know the status.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, for many second-degree burns, home treatment is all that is needed for healing and to prevent other problems. First degree: includes only the outer layer of skin, the epidermis skin is usually red and very painful equivalent to superficial sunburn without blisters dry in appearance healing occurs in 3-5 days, injured epithelium peels away from the healthy skin hospitalization is for pain control and maybe fluid imbalance second degree: can be classified as partial or full thickness. Partial thickness blisters can be present involve the entire epidermis and upper layers of the dermis wound will be pink, red in color, painful and wet appearing wound will blanch when pressure is applied should heal in several weeks (10-21 days) without grafting, scarring is usually minimal full thickness can be red or white in appearance, but will appear dry. Involves the destruction of the entire epidermis and most of the dermis sensation can be present, but diminished blanching is sluggish or absent full thickness will most likely need excision & skin grafting to heal.

Ways to Keep Your Sexual Life Healthy

Ways to Keep Your Sexual Life Healthy

Did you know that regular sex intensifies your immunity power from various allergens and viruses, relieves you from daily stress and anxiety, and even aids in protecting the health of a man's prostate gland by pouring out the fluids within it. Regular intercourse also helps in releasing of chemicals, which improve mood as well as ease pain. May be no one told this to you, and so you have never known it. But every person can and must have intercourse until the old age! Though menopause in older women does influence the sexual drive, there is no reason why a healthy man or a woman cannot savour sexual pleasure at any point in life. Yes, the intensity and nature of the intercourse may change, but the pleasure and love will never be less.

In case your sex drive has reduced, you have plenty of reasons to bounce it back and spice up your life with a few easy tips:

  1. Have regular sex: This is the foremost thing that you must keep in mind. It will aid in keeping your sex drive in top gear by spiking up testosterone production, which is the hormone primarily in charge of libido in both men and women.
  2. Try to get rid of smoking: In case you are a chain smoker, it is advised that you pay a visit to your doctor and ask for a nicotine patch. If you ask why, it is because there is scientific evidence that smoking can clog the blood vessels in the male genitals, the way it blocks the arteries of the heart.
  3. Make a list of all the medicines you administer: Did you know that over 200 medicines may cause erectile dysfunction and other sexual troubles like reduced sex drive? This list includes regular medications like those used to treat high blood sugar, blood pressure, heart problems, depression and even stomach problems. So make a list of all your medicines and consult your physician to know if any of them are causing a reduction in your sexual drive. Of course, you will not be able to stop taking the medicine your body needs, but at least you can ask your doctor to change the brand or composition or dose of the medication.
  4. For women: Practice kegel workout: In case you have forgotten what kegel exercise is, then these are the squeezing workouts that your physician asked you to practice regularly because you faced some trouble with leaking urine. May be you are not aware that these exercises are very good for strengthening your pubococcygeus muscles, which are needed for orgasm. So practice them every day for twenty minutes.

There are many other ways to improve your sex life, and it varies from individual to individual. While consuming pesto and supplements of ginkgo biloba are great for men, there are various forms of lovemaking; be it staring at your partner or touching him or her sensuously. You must consult a sexologist to know about better ways of enhancing your conjugal life.
