Morning bad breath is a common condition but it goes after you brush. you can prevent this by brushing at night along with antibacterial mouth rinses after dinner because at night we keep mouth close for about 6-9 hrs. this is enough time for bacteria to act over this food lodged over and between the teeth and hence cause bad breath. note that there should be a gap of atleast half an hour between brushing and antibacterial mouth rinses. if this problem remains persistent during daytime also, then visit a dentist for professional cleaning of your teeth.

Ulcers in mouth could be in any form, size, shape, number and duration. It is more often found above the age of 20 years, in both sexes. Children also may present with oral ulcers. Having ulcers once in a couple of years may not need much attention. However, if the ulcers keep recurring and if they take long time to heal, it calls for evaluation and strategic treatment. 5 Oral Symptoms You Should NOT Ignore

Dry Mouth

Dry mouth, or xerostomia, is a very common oral condition, especially as you age. There are also more than 425 medications that include dry mouth as a side effect. But dry mouth can be related to issues beyond dental health. It?s also a common symptom of diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, systemic lupus erythematosus, and Sjogren?s syndrome. If you have chronic dry mouth, you should be concerned and talk to your dentist.

Mouth Sores

Did you know that a white or red patch on the tongue or lining of the mouth is the most common sign of oral cancer? But don?t be alarmed: Mouth sores are completely common and the chance your sore signals cancer is low. To be safe, show your dentist any sores in your mouth that don?t heal after two weeks.
Mouth sores from oral cancer tend to occur along with other oral conditions, such as a strange taste in the mouth, problems chewing, pain when you swallow, and having trouble with speech.

Sour Taste In Your Mouth

If you frequently have a sour taste in your mouth (which is often mistaken for bad breath), it could be another sign of GERD, especially if it?s accompanied by a sore throat, chest pain, and a hoarse voice, Leader warns. Besides this oral condition and?dental erosion, GERD can lead to other problems such as an esophageal ulcer and inflammation of the esophagus. If you suspect you have GERD, get tested and treated as needed.
Swollen Gums
--------------------
Swollen gums is another sign of gum disease. An old school remedies says to just gargle with salt water and ?everything will be alright.? Even if you believe you have healthy teeth, swollen gums absolutely require a visit to the dentist. Your dentist or dental hygienist will be able to tell right away if you have gum disease ? but you can check for swollen gums yourself by drying your gums with a napkin or a tissue and looking in the mirror. Although your swollen gums may feel fine, they tend to bleed during brushing.
In addition to swelling, this dental health problem also causes red gums. (Most light- and dark-skinned people naturally have pink gums, but some people of Mediterranean and African descent have darker gums).

Stinky Breath

Last but not least, everyone experiences stinky breath, right? Wrong. Brushing and flossing (including brushing your tongue or using a tongue scraper) should nip in the bud but when it doesn?t, it?s a problem. It could be a sign of advanced gum disease, so it?s important to talk to your dentist before this oral condition ruins perfectly healthy teeth.
Most of the time, however, the biggest bad-breath culprit is your diet. ?Onion, garlic, and pungent spices will produce mouth odor for hours after consumption,? Dr. Leader says. In addition, people who have uncontrolled diabetes, eat a high-protein diet, or suffer from alcoholism tend to have breath with a sweet or fruity odor.

Crown Sensitivity: Causes and Management

Losing a tooth to infection (decay) or trauma can be a painful experience. Imagine that you are in a dental chair and just got a new tooth or a bridge fitted. It is a joyous experience, almost like a new found lease of life, to be able to eat better and look better. However, even after a few days to a week, you realize that the new crown is just not settling down completely. There is a constant sensitivity that exists and is not allowing you to enjoy the new tooth. There are various reasons that the new crown can be sensitive, some of them including:

A high point: on the new crown, there could be small points that do not allow for a bite as earlier. This can lead to sensitivity and minor jaw discomfort.
Improper fit with exposed dentin: this can happen at the neck area, where the crown is not fitting the tooth, leaving a small part of dentin exposed. This can lead to sensitivity once the crown is fixed in.
Other decayed teeth: if there is a decayed tooth adjacent to the crown, it could be confusing and sometimes difficult to pinpoint the exact area.

If it persists for more than a week, check with your dentist on the following:

Severity of decay: the extent of decay in the first place should be considered, especially if you have had crown as a result of extensive tooth decay. If it was involving a large portion of the dentin, the changes of having sensitivity are high, even after a crown placement. In these cases, there could be silent abscess, which may never manifest as symptoms, but can cause a gnawing sensitivity issue with each bite.
Area of decay: root caries and cervical caries are more prone to have sensitivity compared to the crown of the tooth. The enamel layer in these areas is thin and the chances of dentinal involvement is high. The rate at which the decay will reach the pulp and cause pain is also higher.
Type of dental treatment: if extensive metal work is done, the sensitivity might last longer than a week, which is the norm.
Triggering factors: make a note of what triggers the sensitivity, hot, cold or sweets.
Management: as mentioned, expect the sensitivity with your new crown to last for up to a week. In some cases, it may be longer, depending on, as noted above, the severity of the original decay, the area, triggers, etc.

While some cases may be managed with a small trim of the crown, some may need the crown to be re-fitted, and some may even require re-treating the tooth completely.

Before consulting gastroenterologist you should first visit a dentist for evaluation of your oral hygiene whether bad odor from mouth is due to any tartar deposits, decayed teeth, gum disease or you simply don't brush your tongue while brushing your teeth. If you have tartar deposits those will not go away just with brush rather you will need professional cleaning of your teeth to be done in dental office. Also don't forget to brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush with gentle pressure on teeth and gums.
