Let me explain what your son is going through. He has just entered adolescence. He may be having a spurt in the production of the male sex hormone, testosterone, earlier by nearly two years, which fortunately has a duration of two years, only. Due to this chemical alone there are three identified features that present itself over which he has no control: he will be sexually active, aggressive and rebellious, and he will have acne and pimple problems. Then if he has unresolved childhood issues, they will compound the situation and fuel his uncontrolled behavior. Please remember that he himself may not be aware of all this. In his case, he is manifesting a lot of anger in his stubbornness: do you know of any reason from his childhood that may have contributed to unresolved anger? go to a counselor and discuss these matters over and get support to take care of him. Now what else can you do? you parents need to become his best friend i. E. You must always ally with him and find the path of least resistance, without displaying any weakness. Communication must always be open and favorable. The moment he hides things and does not communicate with you or you withdraw it, there is serious danger. Avoid all types of confrontations and discus your concerns with him, openly. Never give him anything without there being some negotiations? barter with him; you give him something in return for some compliance from him. There has to be some ground rules and established boundaries in your house. Let it appear like it is his choice to comply. You have to be strong and firm in some matters. Don? t make decisions for him: offer alternatives that help him make responsible choices. I recommend that you take him for career counseling and determine his aptitude for academic pursuits. Whatever you do, never let him feel rejected by you. There is no harm to tell him that you are afraid as to what is going to happen to him, and afraid that you cannot handle him. This is a fact and so there is no shame in being that open to him. Remember that he is seeking attention by these means. Do not deprive him of it. In fact listen to his arguments, and see where he is coming from and get into that frame of reference to understand him. He may be frustrated with you, if you insist in having it your way, when the world is undergoing rapid changes every day. Try to understand him. Both parents must be on the same page and not argue about him in his presence. Let him know that he is dealing with a united front and that he cannot play games pitching one parent against another. But he must always feel love and acceptance. Two years will fly in a jiffy, and he will settle down very amicably. The way you deal with him, you could either escalate the situation, because you think and know that you are older and stronger; or you could facilitate a youngster to tide over this situation with great resolve and character formation, by being his best friend during this period of strife and turmoil.

Hi, first, go for cycling, swimming, gardening, running, go for meditation to exhale fats cell and reducing stress take oats & green tea in d breakfast. In a prehypertensive individual, the following things have to be taken care of: 1) Tobacco: While the major effects of tobacco are in the development of atherosclerotic heart disease, its role in the management of hypertension cannot be forgotten. The pressure effect of tobacco is so strong that the blood pressure comes down immediately after stoppage of smoking. Tobacco is one of the agents that induce clustering of risk factors. 2) Body weight: Lowering of excess body weight can lower blood pressure. In one of the studies, it was found that decrease of 1 kg of body weight is associated with an average fall of 1.6 mmHg. Indeed, in many instances, it would be possible to discontinue medications after effective weight control. 3) Dietary Sodium: Restriction of dietary sodium is one of the most useful methods of controlling hypertension. This fact should be emphasized, because of the increasing use of fast foods, which have high salt content. It is admitted that it cannot be achieved easily. Norman Kaplan, a renowned cardiologist, gives the following practical suggestions. Do not add salt during cooking or at the table. Sodium consumption should be less than 1500 mg per day, an average individual consumes 8 to 10 times more sodium than required. If salt is desired, add half sodium and half potassium chloride preparations. Avoid fast foods. Be careful about the sodium content of some medications and specifically read the labels indicating sodium content in your food. 4) Alcohol: Alcohol consumption of more than 30 mL of ethanol is found to increase blood pressure. Hence, moderation is recommended. One of the major hazards of drinking is the usual associated consumption of high salt savories, which is an unseen source of salt. Instead, use less salted food. 5) Exercise: Regular physical exercise has been found to induce reduction in blood pressure. Strenuous exercise should be done 45 minutes a day for at least six days a week.

U r probably having prostatic enlargement which s very common in your age. So you need to do an usg kub n urine r/e, m/e. Review with reports. For medicines in the meantime consult me privately as I cannot prescribe medicines in an open forum as its unethical. Thanks stay healthy stay happy.

I am a 21 y/o girl currently entering my final year of Engineering. Due to family problems, I have, for the past 7 years, battled with:(1) Constant thoughts of worthlessness and deep hatred towards myself; constantly blaming myself when anything goes wrong (2) Constant worrying about the future as I can not seem to find my purpose in terms of a career (3) Inability to concentrate at tasks and poor recalling ability (4) My mind getting covered by a thick "blackness" that makes me feel nauseous and make me unable to remember or understand during times of extreme stress (like exams, leading to poor grades) (5) Difficulty in articulating my thoughts (6) Loss of interest in reading and dancing, which I used to enjoy earlier and inability to maintain interest in any hobbies (7) excessive eating when feeling sad or numb (8) Feelings of intense sadness; randomly crying due to hopelessness followed by complete numbness. I was a very bright student in school but now i'm struggling to finish Engineering with decent grades. I have already gone thorough episodes in the past where situations made the above symptoms so severe that I almost attempted suicide thrice but somehow pulled myself back. My parents have always told me to become stronger and that this will pass, but I have been able to "snap out of it" despite my best efforts. I would like to know: what exactly is wrong with me? Dear Mr. lybrate-user.all you need is immediate treatment to control your B.P.since it is severe. First line of treatment in this scenario must be to control B.P.you may need anti hypertensive medicines. Do not try any thing else, once your B.P. Is controlled, you can go for investigations to find the cause of hypertension, get your below given investigations done ,Blood Investigations: Renal (Kidney profile) ,Lipid profile, Blood Sugar. Also get your ECG & 2D echo done. One more thing high Blood pressure does not necessarily mean that you had heart attack, so do not worry about it. Once you get investigations done and results are available, then we can think about further treatment. Thanks.

Weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your daily food intake should ideally consist of nuts, dry fruits, seeds, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. 5. Supplementation. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. 6. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.
