Take chandraprabha vati 1-1 tab twice a day. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Walk for atleast 30 minutes a day. Avoid alcohol consumption. Smoking and non vegetarian. Drink lots of juices and plenty of water. Eat green vegetables and salads. Do pranayama early in the morning. Sleep for atleast 7 hours.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Also press your palm with your finger tips in both hands. Consult after 10 days.

First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket . And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back . you may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * Gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * Surya Namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * In diet vegetable protein of cereal , B complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

I would like to examine you in detail & investigate. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid, vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1 tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that you are not allergic to any of the medicines that you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days

Dear you can follow these methods for relief from backache (back pain): * first correct your sitting posture. Do not bend your lower back. You can use lumber belt for support. * do regular back strength exercises. Move your clockwise and anticlock wise. * do not sleep on very soft bed, sleep on slight hard cotton mattress. * do tadasana and bhjangasana for back strengthening. If you can not understand these asans you can consult me. Surya namaskar is also best asan in back pain * take calcium rich diet and calcium and vitamin d supplements regularly. *do not take any heavy weight or heavy work. * if you are over weight then follow a good and effective diet plan to loose some kilos of weight. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Frist apply ice pack in the painful area which would definitely help to greater extent. Get treated with Ultrasonic therapy which would directly heal the CALCANEAL SPUR (inflammation of the calcaneum bone) which causes the heel pain in majority of the cases. Along with shortwave diathermy which is nothing but a heat treatment also can be given. Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area. You shall do contrast bath to relieve this pain. Contrast bath is nothing but keeping in one tub hot water (bearable heat) and in another tub cold water. If still the pain persists then it is better to keep TENS stimulation at one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics.

I am a 30 year old married female. For past 2 months I am suffering from neck pain caused as a result of using double pillow. The xray observation says" minimal disc space reduction seen at C4-C5 and C5-C6" and" marginal posterior osteophytes are seen at C3 to C6 vertebrae" with conclusion as" F/s/o early cervical spondylosis with marginal disc space reduction at C4-C5, C5-C6" I would like to know what is the permanent cure for this apart from neck exercises and what preventive steps to be taken to lead a normal life.

Hello Ms. Lybrate-user, sorry to hear this. Your x-ray is suggestive of cervical spondylosis which is simple terms can be explained as early arthritis of the neck (cervical spine). Unfortunately there is no way to reverse the damage already done to your spine. The thing you can do is slow down the progression of this condition by following the few simple things. 1. Quit smoking 2. Weight loss 3. Avoid lifting heavy weights 4. Avoid sudden forceful neck movements 5. Neck strengthening exercises 6. Maintain good posture 7. Ergonomic adjustment to your work place like adjusting the height of your chair, table etc. Best wishes.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Dear Lybrate user For sciatica, -proper bed rest Hot Fomentation use L-S belt while walking (to eliminate pain & maintain posture) Avoid forward bending Avoid heavy weight lifting Postural care in sitting, walking,& lying position, also while watching tv or working on laptops. After few days, when your pain will get relieved you have to start some back care exercises.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. The remedy for knee pain is: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Well for your finger pains, my advise will be activity modification, anti inflammatory medications, calcium and vitamin d supplementation for 2-3 weeks and then let me know. Hello lybrate-user, - from how long you are suffering from this pain need to know. - bcz of age also this might have started. - for that only external ointment will not work - you need to strengthen your joints then the pain will reduce. - hence application of ksheerabala taila and hot fomentation for 15 min will make you feel better - take giloy ras 20ml daily twice before food with water. Do it for 20 days. Thank you.

I am having lumbar spondylisis. According to mri report there is mild disc pressure on lower nerve. I have been doing exercises as advised by doctor and taking etoshine or ezact 90 tabs as required. It is for the last two years. Twice I felt numbness in my both the legs about 4 months back. Now I get pain or burning sensation in 3 middle fingers of left feet sometimes is it serious. Please advise.

Any mattress that is firm and coir based is good, avoid sponge based mattress. To reduce back pain you can do yoga asans after a session with a trained yoga professional.
