General Back Pain: This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.If you have low back pain and sciatica you can undergo intermittent pelvic traction where in your half of your body weight will be added in the electronic traction so that that would help you to reduce the pain, along with Interfrential therapy stimulations which would help you to get relieved from the radiating pain. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. If you cannot go immediately for the physiotherapy treatment. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear Lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear MCR chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. Knee pain As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. It looks like you are anaemic. That's the reason the knee goes for genu recurvatum which is nothing but backward bowing of legs. This can be prevented by wearing knee brace to support the knee from going backwards while you walk or climb stairs. Check with your haemoglobin levels and also with your calcium & vitamin levels in your body by consulting a general physician.

Hi, if your back back pain worsens at night and in morning, and you are relieved in the day, you need to get investigated. Get a blood test done, HLAB27 and Xray of LS spine and Pelvis with both hips. Let me know the reports and I can further help you. You can contact me through Text or Phone chat at Lybrate. Take care.

Hello. Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Apart from this, do walk daily along with physiotherapy will also help you.

Consequences of Neglecting Your Posture

Consequences of Neglecting Your Posture

Consequences of Postural Neglect

  • Some people who habitually adopt poor postures and remain unaware of the underlying cause experience back pain through out their lifetime simply because they were not in possession of the necessary information to correct the postural faults.
  • When pains of postural origin are first felt, they are easily eliminated merely by correcting one's posture. As time passes, however, if uncorrected, the habitual poor posture causes changes to the structure and shape of the joints, excessive wear occurs, and premature ageing of the joints is a consequence.
  •  The effects of poor posture in the long term, therefore, can be just as severe and harmful as the effects of injury. Those of us who allow poor posture to persist throughout our life time become bent and stooped as the ageing process develops. When called upon to straighten and stand erect, we are unable to comply. When asked to turn the head, we are unable to do so.
  • Our mobility is now so impaired we are considered by others to be affected by the normal ageing processes.Deformities in the elderly are the visible effects of poor postural habit. There are secondary and sometimes severe consequences when these effects are transmitted to our .
  • Stooped posture in ageing organs: the lungs are constricted and our breathing affected as the back becomes bent; the stomach and other internal organs are deprived of their correct support and may well be affected adversely.
  • It is my own opinion that the bent, stooped posture considered by many to be one of the inevitable consequences of ageing is not at all inevitable and the time to commence preventive action is now. If we, but once a day, stand fully erect and bend fully backward, we need never lose the ability to perform that action and therefore need never become bent, stooped and impaired in so many ways.
