Treatment for lower back pain depends upon the patient's history and the type and severity of pain. The vast majority of lower back pain cases get better within six weeks without surgery, and lower back pain exercises are almost always part of a treatment plan. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Good posture plays a key role in your spine health, helping to prevent additional back and neck pain and even injuries to spinal structures. Try to be aware of your posture and make good posture part of your normal routine. -head up, shoulders back, rear tucked under -Stand and walk with correct posture -Sit with support -Lift and carry carefully -And finally, keep moving:-Maintaining a static position for too long—more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time—is hard on the back. Prolonged static posture can slowly deplete elasticity from the tissues. By simply moving—be it a change of position, a stretch, or a short walk—the tissue elasticity needed to protect your joints can be restored and the associated discomfort reduced. -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT current can give you relief. -Consult a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your back pain. Hi doctor. My dad is suffering from jaundice n his age is 53. He is ill now. After doing the scan n test the report was, he has an infection in liver. So I wanna ask, uh that the liver problem is due to jaundice or something else. So please suggest me some solution how to get rid of this. Thank you.

Ayurvedic medicines are very effective in case of jaundice. Take 7 almonds + Add 2 dried dates + Add 3 small cardamoms + Soak them in water overnight + Crush them to make fine paste the next morning + Add 2 tsp sugar + Add 1 tsp butter + Mix well + Eat once every day. Take swarna makshik ras. Yakrit har loh. Nawayas loh twice a day. And punarnavadi mandoor 1-1 tab twice a day with warm water. Can anyone please tell me at whether to drink "himalaya liv 52" before meal or after meal?
It is immaterial whether you take it before meal or after meal or even don't take it. It has got no action and no useful therapeutic effects nor does it have any preventive action at all against liver disorders. No double blind trials have proved any useful therapeutic or preventive effects. Moreover no medicine is required for liver as it does not require any for it. If liver cells got damaged as in acute viral hepatitis, they get regenerated without any medicine to the extent of 90% provided the trabecular framework is not broken. It means that even if 90% of all your liver cells get damaged they would regenerated and recover themselves without any medicine. If you take any medicine or drugs when your liver is ill and it's cells are damaged, the administerd medicines would put additional overload on liver and may exaggerate liver damage. During damaged liver cells, only you have to take plenty of carbohydrates with plenty of water and B-complex required for carbohydrate metabolism. No fats and no proteins and no drugs or chemicals (present in preserved foods) and no drugs except B-complex vitamins.

1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2. Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

Make a list of in what situations, in whose presence, what activities cause you excessive/irrational fear. Try to approach them or do little by little till your tolerance level (technically we call it graded exposure).

This seems to be due to temporary side effect of medicine you are taking, diarrhoea will get normal in a week by its own consult me if diarrhoea persist.

Hi, If you're looking to maintain hydrated skin, there are steps you can take, including: Avoid exposure to dry air Avoid prolonged contact with hot or chlorinated water Use a gentle cleanser instead of soap Avoid using skin care products that contain alcohol Moisturize immediately after a bath or shower and regularly throughout the day Use a humidifier Wear a scarf and gloves when going out in cold weather If you're concerned about dry skin, contact your health care provider or a dermatologist. You can improve your dry skin by good and healthy intake of food which should includes vitamin A, C, E and protein, lots of water, application of good sunscreen before going out. Drink 10-12 glasses of water, take more of fruits, vegetables, salads, almonds in diet. Sleep for 7-9hrs. daily. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines – Schwabe's Alfaalfa Tonic, Psorinum 200/ once daily and Petroleum 200/ twice daily, take them for 1 month. Everyone knows that a pregnant woman must eat a proper, well-balanced diet to allow normal growth of the foetus. But in many places, including India, nutrition of a pregnant woman is formidably influenced by food fads, religious and cultural beliefs, customs without any certainty about the myths and their real effects. This itself may pose a challenge to the available food choices during pregnancy where every trimester is different but interestingly significant. This span of nine months is really the most challenging period of a woman’s life.

Myth #1: Drinking coconut water regularly will cause the baby to have a good amount of hair and the mother to suffer from acidity.

Reality: A baby normally lays his or her head-down in the third trimester, and the acidity that you may suffer from is caused due to your growing belly. As a woman advances through her pregnancy, the uterus stretches itself and pushes the intestine upwards causing the process of digestion to slow down and is responsible for all the acidity and digestive issues that may even result in constipation.

Myth #2: Cut down the cheese content.

Reality: Cheese, as most people know, is a great source of Zinc, Calcium, Vitamin B12, Protein, Phosphorus and Vitamin A. Some varieties such as Swiss or cheddar are harmless because they pass through rigorous processing and pasteurisation. It is the soft and unprocessed kind of cheese like goat cheese, Feta or Brie, which may cause cheese-borne diseases. So it’s a good idea to eliminate the hard cheese instead of cutting down the cheese in totality.

Myth #3: Consumption of clarified butter while bearing the child eases delivery and helps in quick healing of the uterus during the post-partum period.

Reality: This is one of the most ludicrous food misconceptions related to pregnancy. Ghee or clarified butter neither helps in quick healing of the uterus nor eases childbirth. However, it is a saturated fat and definitely helps in the absorption of EFAs; so it is recommended to consume clarified butter in moderation during pregnancy.

Myth #4: Eating something white in colour early morning will help you give birth to a fair-skinned baby.

Reality: There is no reason to believe this absurd myth. Imagine if it was true, then all the milk and breads and egg whites would have turned everyone white by now. This is nothing more than an inane crap and the colour of the food a would-be mother consumes has nothing to do with the complexion of her baby. It is a matter of pure genetics.

There are countless myths and strange beliefs that you may have come across during pregnancy. So it is always suggested to speak with a gynaecologist to know more about foods and their effects.
