Hi. My girlfriend is the from a higher caste and that's why her mother forbade her to talk with me. But we are in a relationship since 2014. A serious relationship in sense of honest amd earnest love (not to be misinterpreted with physicalities). Things changed from the time her mother became so strict about the matter. She even found an alternative for her in place of me, but she rejected the boy standing again her whole family. But as the situations lead to, she doesn't talk with me as before, marks my WhatsApp messages as seen, no reply, ignores me somewhat. I asked her out what's the matter a few days ago. She said that being the whole family and specially her mother against the relationship, whenever she texts me, or any kind of topic regarding me arises, her mother howls at her in such a disgrace, and even spitting odds and bad about me is also not restricted! Despite of all the unwelcoming circumstances, we're still in a relationship, but definitely not sire if our marriage will be possible or not. In fact the probability is leaning viciously to a big No. We both are concerned about it a lot. I'm in IIT Bombay, 1st year. But problem is I'm an SC. And that's why fear is growing upon us vein like railway tracks forever that runs parallel together but never meet! What should we do now?

As you have explained, she is in confusion to go ahead with you despite the family being so objectionable. All you can do is ask her if she can accept you against the whole world and see if you can handle it, If you are well settled in life to marry against the family. Or it is just forget he and decide between both of you.

Best age to stop smoking is before 40 ,In fact do not start all Only by using strong will power and avoiding all situations where you feel like smoking, chewing tobacco/ or drugs or drinking or using drugs/ weed, avoiding friends who smoke and diverting mind by reading or chewing a gum, like NICORETTE and taking a walk when you crave for a smoke can all help. You can chew Nicorette gum which is nicotine replacement. There are medicines available. Which can be prescribed if asked personally Cigarette smoking is a leading preventable cause of mortality. It kills more than 60 lakh people worldwide every year. More than 50% of regular smokers would invariably die from tobacco-related illnesses which includes heart attack, cancer or asthmatic lung diseases. Best age to stop smoking is before 40 31st May is “World No Tobacco Day” Quitting smoking before the age of 40 is associated with larger decline in premature death than stopping it at a later date. Best age therefore to stop smoking is before 40. However, stopping smoking even after the age of 50 is still associated with lower risk of death as compared to those who continue to smoke. Even in smokers aged 80 years or more, quitting smoking appears to reduce some mortality.

I lost somebody very much near to me last year since I was depressed. Please help me.

I lost somebody very much near to me last year since I was depressed. Please help me.
Hello User, I had read a story. Two persons were walking along towards a village. It was summer time. A large tree came on their way. They lie down below the tree to save themselves from heat. Looking at the tree, one commented that the tree was not bearing any fruit, so was not of no use. Tree listened to them, and replied silently,” I provided you shed. I saved you from heat. And you call me good-for-nothing”. God has created every living being with a purpose behind. You too carry a purpose. H. You are fortunate to have taken birth as a human being. Please thank Him from your heart, for being born as human being. Now, you say that you do not have any friends, and you are very lonely. You feel depressed. Let us analyse the cause of disturbance. I have learnt one line in my life. That is ,” Answer lies in your question”. It means all unsolved items only comes up to the surface from your mind. You remain disturbed within that boundary. Then you look outside for solution. Disturbance inside frames the periphery around it. Hence, your question shows the boundary. You feel lonely. Such feeling arises when you feel the absence of other. The presence was giving you a lot of pleasure. If that is the reason, then the solution is attachment. May be someone was listening to you, you could share your unhappiness and pleasure. Of course, we all do it in our day to day life. It gives a relaxation when we share our feelings. But, it has a opposite effect ,when the other is not there. In other words, dependency on others bring pleasure and unhappiness. Hence, it is advised to learn to live alone. Aloneness is staying within oneself independently. You are not affected by other’s absence or presence. You are within yourself. And you feel completely filled within all the time. To reach such a state you need to do meditation daily. I will suggest you to get some guided type meditation from net. Do practice daily with them. Those will reduce the disturbance your mind. Follow one only, which you feel more effective. After doing so for someday, you will not look forward the presence of others. You feel so complete within yourself. Best of luck. Keep me informed on your progress.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Its ok if you cry for awhile as it lowers the stress and relax mind. I would suggest you to join some laughter club or some group who keep on doing some self help activities. This will keep your mind fresh and relax. Also try to involve your wife so that even she will be relaxed. Thanks.

If development is normal there is no tongue tie then we can wait as usually children are able to speak by 2 years. If she is able to express herself by gestures it's okay.

When I get some nervous my body stars shaking too much and then I can't do any work rightly. Please advise.

Practice yoga and meditation. Although you could technically consider yoga your daily exercise, practicing the deep stretches and slow body movements will help you to clear your mind. Meditating - clearing your mind - while practicing gentle yoga will give double the relaxation effect to ease your stress. Use guided imagery to imagine a place that makes you feel at peace. Imagine somewhere that you feel happy; focus on the details to fully remove your mind from the present. Do yoga alone or in a group setting to help you learn new poses. As you advance in your yoga, you will be able to form complex stretches that force you to focus and take your mind off your stress. Practice deep relaxation by doing progressive muscle relaxation. This is when you work through your body by tensing your muscles, holding the tension for ten seconds, and then releasing it. This will soften and relieve all the muscles in your body.

How To Help Someone Who Is going Through Depression?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Bangalore
How To Help Someone Who Is going Through Depression?

If you feel your friend or loved one is suffering from depression and you don't know how to go about it. You might find this helpful.

1. First thing they need is support and understanding.

2. Please don't tell them it is a phase and they will get out of it.

3. Encourage them to talk about their problem.

4. Please don't ask them" snap out of it. They cannot.

5. It could be unlikely that you may know how they feel so, don't make them feel that it is a small problem and that they should learn to handle it on their own.

6. Keep talking to them, even if they don't respond. They need to know they have someone on their side.

7. Talk to them about options of handling this issue.

8. They may tend to see everything negatively, try to remind them about the other good things in their life.

9. See if you can manage to get them some professional help.
Take them to a psychiatrist. Because professional help is the most important thing that can help them through this phase of life.

If you are wondering how to spot depression

I have written some of the signs in my previous posts.
