I am having the problem of excessive stress and tension. I am not getting proper sleep. Please help.
STRESS CONTROL There are many ways to tame your stress and keep it at bay. Here are 20 tips to tame your stress today, and keep the stress monsters at bay. 1. Perform diaphragmatic or deep breathing exercises. 2. Lie face down on the floor and begin breathing deeply and slowly, with your hands resting under your face. Do this for five minutes. 3. Sit in a reclining chair. Put a hand on your abdomen and a hand on your chest. As you breathe, make sure the hand on your abdomen is moving up and down rather than one on your chest. If the hand on your abdomen is moving you are breathing deeply and slowly. 4. Try progressive muscle relaxation or “deep muscle” relaxation. Progressively tense and relax each muscle group in your body. Learn the difference between muscle tension and relaxation. 5. Meditate. Use visualization or imagery to help you learn to be one with your thoughts. Sit quietly with your eyes closed, imagining the sights, sounds and smells of your favorite place, such as a beach or mountain retreat. 6. Exercise regularly or take up yoga. 7. Consult a psychologist about the use of biofeedback 8. Make time for music, art or other hobbies that help relax and distract you. 9. Learn to identify and monitor stressors. Come up with an organized plan for handling stressful situations. Be careful not to overgeneralize negative reactions to things. 10. Make a list of the important things you need to handle each day. Try to follow the list so you feel organized and on top of things. Put together a coping plan step by step so you have a sense of mastery. 11. Keep an eye on things that might suggest you’re not coping well. For example, are you smoking or drinking more, or sleeping less? 12. Keep a list of the large and little hassles in your day versus the major stressful events in your life. This helps you focus on the fact that you’re keeping track of and managing those as well as you can. 13. Set aside a time every day to work on relaxation. 14. Avoid using caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, junk food, binge eating and other drugs as your primary means for coping with stress. While they can be helpful once in awhile, using them as your only or usual method will result in longer-term problems, such as weight problems or alcoholism. 15. Learn to just say, “No” occasionally. It won’t hurt other people’s feelings as much as you think and is simply a method to be more assertive in your own life, to better help you meet your own needs. 16. Get the right amount of sleep. For most people, this is seven to nine hours a night. 17. Cultivate a sense of humor; laugh. 18. Research has shown that having a close, confiding relationship protects you from many stresses. 19. Don’t run from your problems! This only makes them worse. 20. Talk to your family and friends. See if they can help. If these tips don’t help, or you’ve tried a lot of them with little luck in better taming the stress in your life, it may be time to consider taking it up a notch. A mental health professional — such as a psychologist — can help teach you more effective methods for handling stress in a healthy way in your life. Such psychotherapy is short-term and time-limited, with a focus on helping you better deal with stress. Remember — we do have control over the stress and choices we make in our lives. It sometimes takes a little practice and effort to put some of these techniques into play in your life. Measure your temperature and tell me reading Avoid exertion Take tablet paracetamol 500 mg after food (If No Drug Allergy) as and when required for fever more than 99 f (maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hr can be taken in a day) for 3 days Take proper diet homemade food like moong dal dalia, chapati etc Get CBC checked and review with reports consult privately

I am 47 years old. I have sinus since 6 months. I have also undergone surgery 2 months ago, but I didn't find any cure. Again I consulted ent doc. While endoscopy, he said there is no issue. But my nose is always blocked. I feel very sophisticated. What should I do, please help me!

I would rather suggest you go for Ayurveda medicines rather than Antibiotics like metrogyl. The symptoms described above are suggestive of a Digestive disturbance cause due to a chronic stomach infection. AYURVEDA PROTECTS YOU FROM SWINE FLU

What is Swine Flu?

Swine flu, caused by the H1N1 or type A influenza virus, has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Swine flu affects the upper respiratory tract and its symptoms are similar to those caused by the Human Influenza Virus. There are fears that swine flu will become a major global pandemic in the winter months.

Influenza is quite common in pigs; the main route of transmission is through direct contact between infected and uninfected animals.


How is Swine Flu transmitted?


Swine influenza virus is common throughout pig populations worldwide. People with regular exposure to pigs are at increased risk of swine flu infection. This spreads through personal contacts in the form of droplets created while coughing or sneezing by a person infected with the flu. It is a frequent infection which rises every year with a life-threatening challenge.


Signs and Symptoms of Swine Flu:

Swine flu in Ayurveda can be called asSannipataj Jvara which is basically triggered by the aggravation of the three Doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and loss of Ojas (immunity) in the body. Low Ojas is lack of immunity at the physical level and absence of mental strength at mental level. Hence Ayurveda strongly recommends the strengthening of the Ojas (immunity) to prevent diseases like swine flu from its attack.

Ayurveda says you can prevent the spread of flu by strengthening the ojas and enhancing your body immunity with help of following remedies:

Take 5 Tulasi (basil leaves) + 4 Maricha (whole black pepper beads) + 3 Lavanga (clove buds) + 1 teaspoonful of fresh Adrak (ginger) paste + 2 cups of water. Boil this entire mixture until the quantity of water is halved. Filter and add a teaspoonful of honey when warm. Take this decoction twice a day.½ to 1 teaspoonful of Sitopaladi Churna with 1 teaspoonful of honey and have it twice daily.Have 1 tbsp of Chyawanprash with cow’s milk every morning to boost immunity.Children should be given Suvarna prashana - Ayurveda vaccine for Swine flu and other infections.Panchakarma detox therapies like Nasya, Vamana and Virechana are also very useful for all respiratory tract infections.Home should be kept clean and fumigated daily with Neem leaves, Guggal, Sarjarasa and Devdaru for environmental purification.Do hot saline gargle many times in a day.Snuff 2-6 drops of mustard oil early in the morning.Keep a mixture of powdered camphor + cardamom in a box and smell it every 2 - 3 hours. Avoid getting wet and sleeping into the dew.Avoid places of crowd during endemic period of swine flu.Make sure you get at least 7-8 hours of good sleep every night. This will boost your immune system and enhance the ojas in your body.Drink 8 to 10 glasses of boiled water each day to flush accumulated ama (toxins) from your system.Eat a healthy and balanced diet to keep your body strong, nourished, and ready to fight infection. Stick with whole grains, colorful vegetables, and vitamin-rich fruits.If you have constipation, then have light laxative like Triphala churna 3-6 gms or Isabgol 5-10 gms at bedtime.Support your immune system by exercising moderately on a regular basis. It helps in increasing blood circulation and eliminating the blockage in body channels.Consult your doctor if you have a cough and fever and follow their instructions. Make sure you take the prescribed medicines at the right time and in advised quantities.

For last 20 years ,(Age 42, Male) I am suffering from migraine. Probably once in a week it occurs. Usually I take vasograin. 1to 2 tab, some times up to 3 tab, with a gap of 4 to 5 hrs. Is any side effect for this medicine. Any other medicine available.

You are just taking medications for an acute attack of migraine. Being only on such medications causes tolerance as a side effect. To be precise, the pain relieving effect of a single tablet of vasograin will diminish with time and you might need increased doses. The better alternative would be to start prophylaxis treatmnet with other medication which will prevent relapses of migraine. Also associated factors like psychological stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression e, hormonal and nutritional deficiencies need to be treated for an effective management and relapse prevention. Possibly it is aortic pulsation, which is not abnormal. Thin person when feels like that it may not be abnormal. But with your height & weight it is not usual. Please get yourself examined by a cardiologist and get one usg abdomen done to exclude any aneurysm in abdominal aorta or any mass in front of aorta.

Hello- It is a fact that over and abusive masturbation leads to the tissue damage in penis which causes pain and weak erection during sex, but there is another aspect to this situation. Erections go up and down. You’ll find this happening all your life. It doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy sex, but you have to adjust your attitude and relax. I suspect that the first time your penis didn’t respond on command, you started feeling anxious and judging yourself, which can be a vicious circle. The more you worry about erections, the more your penis won’t cooperate.

Keep him away from oily, junk, spicy food. Add green leafy vegetables and fresh fruit in his diet. Avoid exposure to extreme weather. Make a habit to give more protein e. G. Soyabean, sprouts, nuts, pulses etc. Increase the water intake. Give 1 tsf chyawanprash daily with milk to boost up his immunity.

My father is 84 years old and having multiple disease conditions: He suffers from severe anxiety. He gets tensed in very simple incidents of life and thinks a lot about all simple incidents which we in general do not give much attention to. He also suffers from hypertension. Severe hearing loss with damage of tympanic membrane and infection in one ear. Severe spondylitis with disc degeneration and nerve compression with back pain from the same. Painful leg due to sciatica. Blind from glaucoma in right eye and age related macular degeneration in the left eye. Tendency of prostate enlargement, and pain and burning with urination at least twice a year. He also suffers from GI ailments like gas, indigestion, and very soft stools every now and then. Due to his frail and weak physic, we mostly try to avoid any allopathy medications sans emergency situations. For a long period of time, he is taking essentia area once a day and viscum pentarkan once a day. For the last few weeks he is also taking alfalfa tonic. Presently, his blood pressure is mostly normal or very little above normal. I would like to know what should be my approach to his treatment? What medicine regimen should he follow? I would also like to know if there is any medications that can arrest the progression of age related macular degeneration. And if there is any medication to arrest his hearing loss. He seems to get disturbed mostly by the fact that he is gradually losing his vision and listening ability. Thanks
