Hi, I had ulcer in stomach 1 year back, and was cured properly due to consolidated diet and medicine as precautions. But now occasionally I am feeling some pain and itching internally in stomach. How to treat it in a mannered way?

It may gas-distention trouble due to indigestion. Have simple bland food (Khichadi) for next few days avoiding junk, oily, spicy fried and deep-fried food items. Drink lot of water. Add Jeera, Ajwain, Sonth in your food items – these herbs prevent gas formation. Reduce intake of tea – coffee. Instead you can have green tea. Do not lye-down or sit immediately after having meals. Have a walk instead. Maintain good bowel habits. Have more of Coconut Water, Gulkand etc to relieve acidity, Avoid too much of Cauliflower, Peas, Brinjals, Namkeens as snacks etc. Do regular walking and mild exercises. You may also do a weekly fast – just to relax and calm down your system. Fasting also helps in cleansing of the system. For gas some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.

hi. you have got anal fissure due to your poor dietary habits. you have to leave masala. i am afraid that you may require surgery. meanwhile stop all kind of masala and spices. eat more of green vegetables, fruits and salads. start doing Sitz bath( sit in a tub filled with luke warm water for 15min and make your anal region squeeze and relax) thrice a day. if stool is hard then you require a laxative. for further queries and medication you can consult me online.

Get relief from acidity and heartburn

Stomach produces hydrochloric acid, which not only acts as protective barrier to the mucosal lining of abdomen but also helps digestion. But when there is over production of the acid it results in burning sensation in the chest area which is called heartburn. Untreated acidity leads to peptic ulcers.

Increased intra-abdominal pressure in cases of obesity and pregnancy also leads to heartburn sometime.

What remedies can be adopt for treating it?

- drink 2-3 glasses of cold water soon after getting up from bed early in the morning. It dilutes and washes away the acid secretion of overnight.
-take small meals at frequent intervals i. E, 3-4 hours once.
-take cold milk whenever acidity persists.
-tea, coffee, smoking, alcohol, hot and spicy food should be restrictly avoided.
-reduction of weight lessens intra-abdominal pressure and hence, is very important.
-avoid lying down immediately after taking food.
-avoid hot foods and hot liquids.
-avoid white sugar strictly as it enhances acidity by increasing fermentation. Use jaggery instead.
-take measures to avoid constipation.
- drink at least 8-12 glasses of water in a day.
-avoid spicy, irritant foods.
-take bland diet with minimum salt, as salt is alsio irritant.
-take plenty of natural antacids like coconut water, sweet buttermilk, cold milk and ashgourd juice.
-the chlorophyll present in green leafy vegetable is also an excellent agent to neutralise acidity.
-avoid sour fruits, if not suitable.

I have gas problem since 6 months what are precautions to be taken please advice.
Dear Lybrate User, *During the condition of lack of hydrochloric acid in our stomach black pepper can be very effective to cure the problem. Black pepper can increase the flow of gastric juices and thus help in digestion. Powdered black pepper with crushed jaggery can be taken along buttermilk during indigestion. Or a fine powder of black pepper, dried mint leaves, ginger powder and coriander seeds, all taken in equal amounts, can be consumed twice a day (one teaspoon) to treat gas and indigestion. *Drink warm water. *Avoid more spicy, maida related, dry, junk foods.

Your liver condition is not poor, these tablet last will help reduce damage, but the most important treatment for fatty liver is exercise and a diet change with reduced sugar, sweets and fat. If you have fat around your belly you will have to loose weight with diet and exercise. That is the only permanent solution. Once that happens you may not need any tablets.
