Its good that you have cut down on smoking. Alcohol consumption is also quite dangerous in liver disease and may lead to alcoholic fatty liver followed by cirrhosis. Get vaccinated against hepatitis a and b. Take home cooked food and boiled/ro water as they may lead to liver infection.

Hi Lybrate-user. Apki problem ok oral submucous fibrosis kehete hain. Gutka khane se humare gaalo ki maans pechiya fibrosis ki wajaf se tight ho jaati hai aur pehle ki tarah flexible nahi rehti. Isse pehle jitna muh khulta tha wo nahi khul pata. Har baar aisa nahi hota par kayi baar aage jaake ye bahot dangerous sabit ho sakta hai. Muh ka cancer bhi ho sakta hai. Muh bilkul khulna band ho sakta hai. Sirf liquid diet pe jana pad sakta hai. Oral Medicine ke MDS degree doctor ke paas ja kar pehle checkup karwaye. Agar test ki zarrorat pade to hichke nahi. Gutka poori tarah chodne ke baad doctor aur dawayi ki madad se aap behtar mahsoos karenge. Apne doston ko bhi gutka khane se roke. Hum Manushya sansaar mein sabse best life being ka example hain. Hume ye kooda nahi khana hai.

I would advise you to consult your dentist as soon as possible. If your tooth is carious and you are experiencing severe pain, there is a possibility that the pulp of your tooth is exposed, which can be diagnosed only after proper check up. Kindly show it to your dentist at the earliest. If you will delay it much, it might need to be extracted.

First take an x-ray of the tooth and confirm whether to do rct or not. Small decays can have fillings done. If it's deep you should get the rct done. Charges can start from 4k excluding crown charges.

You might have tartar/deposit on your teeth. Kindly visit dentist and get cleaning and polishing done. Secondly you use chlohex plus mouth wash rinse two times a day for a month. If bledding is still persistent. Kindly visit dentist and take medications /treatment accordingly.

The Differences Between Mens and Womens Oral Health

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
The Differences Between Mens and Womens Oral Health

There are Obvious differences between men and women. But what you may not realize is that these differences extend into the world of dentistry and oral health as well. For instance, did you know that women are more likely to visit their dentist regularly, while men are more prone to visit only when something needs attention?Read on to discover more interesting facts about the differing oral health habits of men and women.Women brush more than men on average, women are over 8% more likely to brush their teeth twice every day than men are.

Men skip brushing here and there while women prove to be more vigilant about their brushing habits. Women are also nearly 10% more likely than men to brush their teeth immediately after eating meals.Men put themselves at more risk than women. When it comes to keeping your mouth and overall health in check, there are certain things you should just stay away from.

Chewing tobacco products, smoking cigarettes, over-consumption of alcohol, and exposing yourself to other carcinogens are extremely harmful activities that can result in many health issues, including oral cancer

Men are more likely than women to consume these kinds of carcinogenic products and do so at higher rates than women, which means they are more at risk of developing oral cancer, gum disease, and other health issues.

Women see the dentist more often Women are more likely than men to visit their dentist and, while they are there, make a future or follow-up appointment that they intend to keep. It’s been proven that men often visit their dental professionals only when it is absolutely necessary and therefore receive far fewer dental checkups and cleanings than women.Men experience more dental issues Because women are generally more proactive regarding maintaining their oral health and see their dentist regularly, they on average experience fewer dental issues such as gum disease, tartar buildup, and bleeding gums when compared to men.

Often, oral diseases show very few warning signs that can be identified by someone who is not a dental professional. As men don’t necessarily see their dentist as regularly for screenings, problems such as gum disease, oral cancer, decay, and other oral health issues can sometimes go unnoticed until the disease has undergone advanced stages. For this reason, men have been proven to be more likely than women to develop these issues. This is why being vigilant about receiving regular dental checkups is essential in ensuring your ongoing health.Women often experience sudden spikes in oral issues

As only women go through pregnancy and menopause, women of course experience more concentrated elevation and changes in general in hormones. This spiking of hormones can cause changes in oral health with nearly 75% of women developing gingivitis while expecting, and with some experiencing Burning Mouth Syndrome while going through menopause. Increased visits to the dentist during these times is a great way to keep oral health in check and have any concerns dealt with before they develop into larger issues.

Men experience more tooth trauma It’s been proven that, in general, more men play sports that involve intense physical contact with other players such as tackle football, rugby, water polo, wrestling, and boxing. This greatly increases their chances of colliding with other people or sports equipment and chipping, cracking, or losing teeth altogether.

These chances increase even more when coupled with the fact that men are less likely than women to wear mouth-guards or other protective gear when playing these activities. Having a mouth-guard fitted or buying one from a local pharmacy is the best way to protect teeth and jaw bones from damage like this.

Gently cleaning between the braces with a wire brush is very necessary to keep the mouth and teeth freee from plaque, especially during the orthodontic treatment.

Dear from the sounds of it it appears that you have a deep cavity in your tooth due to long standing decay. You would probably require extensive restorative treatment.

I am 41 years old. My gums in the top jaw holding the teeth are going above forming gap between teeth and gums. What is the reason any deficiency and how to get back it to normal position again.

You are probably referring to gingival recession, which usually happens in advancing gum disease (Periodontitis). It may also happen due to excessively vigourous toothbrushing. In any case, get it checked so the reason might be identified and appropriate remedy suggested.

Try to keep use of chemicals to the least alcohol is not a good thing in mouth wash. First of all why do you need a mouth wash, is it bad odor or any other problem. For everyday use nothing is better than warm water and salt rinses two times a day after brushing.

My cousin has a tooth problem. She is getting blood for teeth and with bad odour. What should she do now.

MDS - Periodontics
Dentist, Jaipur
Hi there. I m gum specialist. Bleeding from gums is mostly due to deposits/tartar on teeth. Your cousin needs a professional cleaning which will also reduce the bad odour. A mouthwash after cleaning will solve this issue. You can direct me your further queries in private question section.

Hello, pain could be because of tooth decay or eruption of wisdom tooth, you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. Get an x-ray done if required. If there is cavity get it filled. If there is infection to the root of the tooth, you need to get it treated. If the pain is because of wisdom tooth you can do salt water rinses, this will give you temporary relief. If required get it removed.

Tongue cleaning is as important as brushing and flossing. Use of a proper tongue scraper every morning will remove tongue plaque and freshen your breath.

There is a myth among many people that removal of the upper teeth affects vision. This is a total misconception.Vision is not affected in any way by undertaking treatment of the upper teeth including its extraction.

I have not clean my tongue since last few months. What should I do to clean it now and remove the bad breadth.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.
