My period is 2 weeks late. My period is regular ever since. But I have an active sexual life. We use the pull out method and always make sure that no sperm esp. The first burst will be inside me. I'm not just sure if he excreted it in front of my vagina. I'm afraid it came in. In happened on February. I remember I got my period on Feb. 14, and lasted til Feb 19. I expected my period to come from March 20-26. I had sex on March 23. We made sure he didn't cum inside. Now my period won't come. It's almost 2 weeks late. I used pregnancy test several times. All negative. I think i'm using in right. I used pregnancy test strips, even pregnancy test cassetes. It's all negative. I'm always feeling dizzy last March but I think that's because I don't get enough sleep. I'm often stress out and not feeling well to. I feel something in my belly I can't describe. My vagina is sometimes dry, sometimes it releases white sticky substance. But results are always negative. Am I pregnant? Thank you so much!

Chances are extremely low for pregnancy as test is negative. The method which you are using is called coitus interruptus and that has high failure rate so don't depend on it. For you not getting period as such you have to go to Gynecologist for examination, may be reports and hormonal treatment at that time learn about different family planning methods and choose one.

Reduce carbs, general belief is that daal are rich in proteins only but they have calories due to carbs also. Take lots of seasonal vegetables and fruits plus eating according to constitution. Take more proteins like milk and curds. At 23 you can do more exercise, simple walks or weights. If you are a rice eater, continue and don't remove the rice water fearing that it increases calories but do try coarse grains like wheat, maize and other types of atta available in markets, that has additional fiber and soy type of nutrients added to it. Do reduce weight @5 kg per month and don't become calories or weight obsessed. Do write back after a month.

I am 21 years old and my right breast is little smaller than the left one. Is there any thing to worry?

I am 21 years old and my right breast is little smaller than the left one. Is there any thing to worry?
Breast asymmetry is an extremely common problem amongst women. In most cases, this is relatively minor and women aren?t bothered by it. Occasionally, it can be severe and treatment is necessary. If you do not face any problem and are not worried by aesthetics of your body, there is no need to worry. If you want to get these treated, the same is possible by various surgical methods. These may include breast reduction, breast lift, breast augmentation or various combinations of these procedures.

Hi afreen, avoid fatty and spicy food. Instead of taking large meal at once try to take small and frequently. Take lot of water, rusk/salt biscuits if you have nausea.

Hello the tablet is anticonvulsant and it is category C drug during pregnancy. That is benefits outweigh the risks. If it is more beneficial for your wife's condition it can be continued during pregnancy. In the current dosage level it is not secreted in breast milk .Even if it will be minimal. So consult you doctor and decide.

In all likelihood there is no pregnancy but best would be to get a blood test for pregnancy. If that is negative, one is sure of it.

Infertility is not a disease, but a derangement- a condition where the couple is unable to conceive. The patient may have tried the help of ART=Assisted Reproductive Treatment, starting from simple medication to expensive and invasive procedures, IVF, ICSI, PGD etc. These can lead to anything from derangement in the normal physiology, to gross irreversible pathology, leading to iatrogenic complications. Numerous infertility cases have been treated successfully with homeopathic medicine and they have been reported on homeopathic medical journals. All these cases show how homeopathic treatment restored overall health and helped women, who were previously infertile conceive and have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Homeopathic remedies can help infertile couples achieve pregnancy even if there are physical conditions that can prevent the implantation of the embryo contributing to infertility or miscarriages You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

The Dangers of Putting Off STD Testing

Diploma In Postpartum Depression, Formerly , House Job , Gynecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
The Dangers of Putting Off STD Testing

An STD or sexually transmitted disease is usually an infection which spreads from one person to another during sexual contact. Some STDs can also be transferred through touch, since they spread by skin contact. People hardly like to talk or discuss about STDs, but it is very important to rule out the possibilities of STD. Whether one likes it or not, if STD testing is ignored, then it can lead to long-term consequences.

Why STD Testing is Important?

Often STDs have no signs and symptoms, and the only way to know that are you suffering from an STD is to get tested for it. So it is a good idea to get yourself tested, as you never know if you might have STD even though you don't show symptoms. Also, when STDs are diagnosed, most of them can be cured.

Consequences of not Getting Tested

If one has STD and is not getting tested for the same, then it could lead to health problems which can cause permanent damages or might prove to be fatal. Some of the problems are:

  1. Undiagnosed and untreated STDs can lead to damaged reproductive system, leading to sterile men and women.
  2. Chlamydia, if untreated can lead to epididymitis and shrinkage of testicles and infertility in men. It also leads to pelvic inflammatory disease. But, good news is, it can be treated easily.
  3. Syphilis can make a person blind and deaf, and can also be passed on to babies.
  4. Gonorrhea, which can also be treated easily with antibiotics, can lead to infertility or death if untreated.
  5. Even HIV/AIDS if diagnosed in early stages can enable the patient to lead a normal life and does not mean only death, contrary to conventional perceptions.

Symptoms of STD

While, gonorrhea, chlamydia and human papilloma virus (HPV) have no symptoms, the common symptoms of STDs might vary.

  1. In women, the common symptoms are pain and burning sensation during urination, blood in vaginal discharge as also abnormal vaginal discharge, abdominal pain, blisters, warts, and swollen glands.
  2. Men often experience inflammation of the testicles, prostate, sores, fever, urethral discharge and pain during urination.

If these symptoms are observed, it is vital to get tested for STDs. Also, the best way to protect your partner is not to practice unsafe sex and to refrain from the same until diagnosed and treatment is complete.

Getting yourself tested for STD is also beneficial, as it can prevent against complications like cancers and infertility. The standard STD panel of tests consists of Herpes IgG antibody and HIV antibody blood tests, along with a blood test for syphilis antibody and DNA urine test for gonorrhea and Chlamydia.

What medications should I go for aborting 21 days old. What side effects? With what precautions? Can we provide iron tablet? Thanks.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
Hi Arnav. Termination of pregnancy upto 9 weeks can be done safely and effectively. However the correct medicine taken in correct dosage and technique is very important. Many people do not follow the recommended technique to take the medicine and end up having incomplete abortions, heavy bleeding which at times require hospitalisation. So please take the medicines only under medical supervision.
