Hi doctor, My four years daughter got pneumonia in January. She was hospitalized but now she is cure from pneumonia. But she has a scar in lungs. Dr. Says no problem for that. It's melt gradually. She is suffering from recurring cold and cough too. Dr. Also says that her lungs will be sensitive for two years. What do you think Dr.

She may be suffering from a post invective lung condition leading to recurrent bronchospasm or an independent lung and upper respiratory tract allergy. Please consult a good chest specialist.

Furred animals like cats and dogs are important risk factor for uncontrolled asthma. preferably they should not be allowed in the house or at least in the bed rooms.

My daughter is 8 months old and she having fever above 102f please suggest something?

My daughter is 8 months old and she having fever above 102f please suggest something?
Hello the most common cause of fever in this age is viral infection. Give her paracetamol in a dose of 10-15 mg/kg/dose whenever the temperature rises. Monitor fever pattern and appearance of any new symptoms like cough/cold/loose motion/urinary difficulty. If you notice any of these and if fever persists for more than 72 hours consult your pediatrician for evaluation. Regards.

My son aged 3 & half years old often complains of pain in legs not necessarily both any calcium supplement would help. Otherwise he is active.

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Tumkur
Many children complain pain in the legs especially in the night. It's called growing pain. You can apply some analgesic balms and can give some analgesic like paracetamol if the pain is more.
