Hello- Weight loss can be due to improper digestion and less sleep hours. Try these tips to increase your weight- A) Avoid fast food and spicy diet an increase dairy products in diet. B) Eat diet prescribed for Indians that is dal-chawal-sabji and roti, do not try to follow western routine by reading some article on magazine or internet. C) Sleep at least 8-10 hours daily. D) Use these ayurvedic medicines- Shatavari kalpa 1 tsp twice daily with 1/2 cup milk. The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Hi lybrate-user tips for weight loss follow a balanced diet. Eat more homemade food. Have 3 servings of vegetables a day start a day with healthy breakfast like a king. Drink more water. Add a meatless meal once a week. Eat a whole grain. Switch from full-fat dairy to low-fat. Eat good and healthy fat. Have healthy snacks.

Alcohol and the Heart
Doctors have struggled for several years now over whether to tell their patients about the potential cardiac benefits of alcohol. Over 60 clinical studies have suggested that light to moderate alcohol consumption (the equivalent of one or two 1 � oz. drinks of alcohol per day) can increase HDL cholesterol levels (the ?good? cholesterol,) can reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction (heart attack), and may have other cardiovascular benefits.
However, excessive alcohol consumption reliably causes a number of severe and often fatal medical problems, not to mention the destructive social pathologies associated with alcoholism itself.
For all these reasons, a special advisory panel of the American Heart Association issued a formal statement urging doctors not to recommend alcohol to their non-drinking patients as a means of reducing the risk of heart disease. This makes perfect sense. If doctors were seen to be encouraging alcohol, that would not only be politically incorrect, but might also lead to a significant increase in alcohol-related medical and social problems. Still, the apparent cardiac benefits of alcohol creates something of a dilemma for doctors.
The Evidence in Favor of Alcohol
Numerous prospective studies now suggest that people who engage in light to moderate alcohol consumption have a substantially reduced risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) - by as much as 40 - 70% - compared to those who drink either no alcohol, or those who drink more heavily.
And in a large meta-analysis that included over 80 observational studies, those with light to moderate alcohol intake had a 25% reduction in death from cardiovascular causes.
People who engage in light alcohol consumption appear to have a significantly reduced risk of developing heart failure.
Light to moderate alcohol consumption may help to prevent type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome. And in people who have diabetes, it may help to protect against CAD.
Up to two drinks per day may help to protect against stroke.
How Can Alcohol Protect the Heart?
Theories as to how light to moderate alcohol consumption can benefit cardiovascular health include the following:
Alcohol increases HDL cholesterol levels
Alcohol has antioxidant activity
Alcohol increases insulin sensitivity
Alcohol may help prevent abnormal blood clotting
Alcohol in low doses has anti-inflammatory properties
While it is widely believed that red wine may have special protective properties (largely stemming from the antioxidant properties of red grapes), in fact the overall data strongly suggests that it is the alcohol itself that is cardioprotective in small doses - regardless of the particular type of alcoholic beverage consumed.
The Evidence Against Alcohol
It is noteworthy that in all the studies assessing the effect of alcohol on the heart, women who consumed more than two drinks a day, and men who consumed more than three, had a substantial increase in overall cardiovascular mortality, including sudden death. Furthermore, several studies show that binge drinking (abstaining for several days, but drinking heavily on the days when alcohol is consumed) is associated with a substantially increased risk of CAD and of cardiovascular death.
In addition, drinking large amounts of alcohol is a well-recognized cause of cardiomyopathy and heart failure. People who have more than two drinks per day have a significantly increased risk of developing hypertension. And consuming more than two drinks per day appears to significantly increase the risk of stroke.
Both heavy drinking and binge drinking increase the risk of atrial fibrillation.
The Bottom Line
It appears quite evident that the relationship between alcohol and cardiac risk follows a "J-shaped" curve. Cardiac risk is lower when low to moderate alcohol is consumed than if either no alcohol is consumed, or if higher amounts of alcohol are consumed.
The problem for professional bodies and guideline-writers, obviously, is that many, many people find it difficult or impossible to limit their alcohol to one or two drinks per day. If guidelines actively promoted light alcohol consumption for the population, there is every reason to believe that the overall result would be a negative one, rather than a positive one. So, despite all the evidence regarding the cardiovascular benefits of light alcohol consumption, you should not hold your breath waiting for guidelines (or your doctor) to recommend such a thing.

Hello, Get your blood tested (empty stomach) for – CBC, ESR, AEC, TFT, LFT, KFT; also, Sputum examination, Chest X-ray, Urine (R & M) and Stool examination (R & M) done. (In case required, may advise you some other tests later). Revert me with the reports for proper treatment.

Hi lybrate-user, If you are trying to gain weight, make sure that you are doing it in a healthy way. To gain weight you must consume simple foods for weight gain, which has enormous amount of calories & protein. Consuming lot of calories doesn’t mean that you have to over eat or over stuff yourself. You must always choose healthy sources of calorie dense foods. You must eat natural and simple foods for weight gain. Eat foods with high amount of calories than your required metabolism. Never skip your meals and make sure you are including all varieties of foods like fruits, vegetables, cereals and foods with high protein in your diet. Dairy products like milk, yoghurt and cheese are rich in protein and calcium. If you are vegetarian then include Egg & meat Egg is a protein rich food with high amount of calories. Nuts are the most nutritious and protein rich food. Fruits are the best sources of carbohydrates, healthy sugars, vitamins and minerals.

Dear, stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the? fight-or-flight? response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. I am 50 years old. My height is 5'7" and weight is 85 kg. I am taking phytolacca berry liquid 10 drops in half cup of water twice daily for last two months but no change in weight has been noticed. You need to have a diet and exercise plan based on your bmi, age & weight and sex, presence of any diseases. There are matters to be discussed privately. Comprehensive exercise& diet plan based on whether vegetarian /non vegetarian can be given if you ask privately. May also need to do some tests. Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans to burn off fat. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take of your total as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. Hello.In process of conception many factors r involved ,as you have done many test which are within normal range, still have patience. U said that you have pcos problem, I wil suggest you to go through ovulation study where we able to find out whether this pcos affecting your ovulation process. If all reports in future r normal ,then don't worry you will conceive.
