Prevention Of Prostate Cancer

DNB (Urology), MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Urologist, Delhi
Prevention Of Prostate Cancer

One of the most significant glands in the male reproductive system is the prostate gland, which is responsible for carrying urine from the bladder. It is located right under the bladder and helps in production of semen which contains sperm.

Prostate cancer is a slow growing form of cancer that is rarely seen in men below the age of 50. It may occur due to both, genetic and environmental factors. Here is a list of measures that can help in preventing this ailment.

  1. Food Intake and Weight: Apart from age, the major factor that contributes to the risk of prostate cancer includes food and weight. Doctors suggest that bringing down your intake of calcium and fat that comes from red meat and excess dairy can help in preventing the onset of this ailment. The calcium intake should not go beyond 1,500 mg per day, which is why doctors will usually ask you not to have supplements. Cooked tomatoes with olive oil as well as cruciferous vegetables including broccoli and cauliflower should be included as a vital part of one's diet, while fish should be taken regularly as it is a source of healthy or good fat like Omega-3 fatty acids. In general, you should have fewer calories which should be matched up with ample exercise so that a healthy weight and balance is maintained.

  2. Stress and Blood Pressure: Stress and anxiety are also major reasons that contribute to the onset of this disease. One will need to see a doctor about high blood pressure, especially the kind that is triggered by stress and causes hypertension. Also, you must control your cholesterol and stay out of depression to ensure that your risk of developing prostate cancer reduces. Also, having these conditions along with prostate cancer makes the survival chances that much lower. So, you must get the right medication and treatment for these conditions as well.

  3. Lifestyle: One will need to quit smoking, that can cause a number of ailments including prostate cancer. Also, drinking alcohol in moderation is required in order to have a healthier lifestyle and cut the chances of developing such ailments.

  4. Screening: While your diet and other aspects may be right, there is still a great chance of developing prostate cancer, especially if anyone in your family has been afflicted with this condition in the past. Therefore, it is recommended to get an annual screening done so that you eliminate the chances of finding it out late, and can check the growth of any anomalies as soon as they take place. Getting regular checks ups done and getting diagnosed for the problem when the earliest symptoms begin to show are both crucial for prostate cancer. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a oncologist and ask a free question.

There are little blackheads on my face. On cheeks and nose. And its not going. I am worried if it doesn't turn into a big pimple. How to remove it?

There are little blackheads on my face. On cheeks and nose. And its not going. I am worried if it doesn't turn into a...
First, understand exactly what blackheads are, so you don't damage your skin by trying to scrub them away. "Blackheads are just an oxidized mix of oil and dead skin cells that are sitting in pores. The exposure to air is what causes them to oxidize and turn black. The best way to break down oil in clogged pores is by using beta-hydroxy acid (salicylic) or combination peels containing salicylic acid. It is lipophilic (attracted to fat/oils) and concentrates at the surface of the pore to dissolve the plugs. Consistent use will prevent the blackheads before they form and help clear existing pores. Additionally, glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid which is derived from sugar cane, helps clear dead skin and debris on the surface. These two work well in tandem. It can be found in over-the-counter products. Ideally, you should use a leave-on product rather than a cleanser or soap. Here 's how to decide which one is best for you salicylic or glycolic: If your skin is otherwise clear but you've been putting up with stubborn blackheads on your nose for years, have anti aging concerns or just want to improve your skin's look - try Glycolic Acid. If you suffer from acne too - Salicylic Acid is best for you. Since blackheads are caused by open, clogged, pores reacting to oxygen, it only makes sense that "shrinking" your pores down will help. Lemon juice is just the astringent substance needed to get the job done, however, it can lighten skin temporarily and it does make you sensitive to the sun, so load up on sunscreen if you plan on using this method. If you have sensitive skin, try diluting the lemon juice with water first. You can consult me online for further tips for skin care treatment and medicines. Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

I am 21 year old and my lips are dark. What should I do to make them pretty pink?

BAMS

I am 21 year old and my lips are dark. What should I do to make them pretty pink?
Follow these best tips to get red lips :- * Moisturize your lips you must keep your lips moisturized if you want them to stay healthy and therefore pink. If you are going outside, try applying a bit of petroleum jelly or lip balm and if you are inside, use some Milk fat ( ghee). * Use Pomegranate Seeds and Milk. Another simple way to lighten dark, dull lips and create a beautiful pink color is using pomegranate seeds. Crush up the seeds and mix it with some milk cream. If you apply this home remedy to your lips regularly, you will start to see them becoming redder and fuller. * Apply Cucumber Juice Another great way to reduce any darkness on your lips is to apply a bit of cucumber juice. Simply slice a cucumber, rubbing it against your lips to allow the juices to soak on. If you do this for five minutes each day, you can lighten dark lips to a beautiful pink color. * Mix Rose Petals in Milk. Rose petals are another one of the great home remedies for pink lips. Simply soak some rose petals in milk for a little bit of time. Then use the petals to make a paste, adding a few drops of both glycerin and honey. Apply the paste on your lips and wait fifteen minutes before gently rubbing it off using milk. This remedy can produce amazing results. * Massage with Lemon Juice Another remedy only requires lemon and some sugar. Cut a thin slice from the lemon, sprinkling a bit of sugar on top and rub your lips with this combination each day. This works well because lemon works to naturally bleach your lips, returning them to their light, pink color while sugar works to remove dead skin cells. * Mix Honey, Almond Oil and Sugar Another great remedy is to mix sugar, honey and a little bit of olive or almond oil. Apply this to your lips, massaging it in for ten minutes. Stay Hydrated. If you want beautiful, pink lips, Try to increase your intake of water and drink fresh fruit juices as these will work together to keep you hydrated, giving you healthy, soft lips.

Skin Problems - How Homeopathy Helps in Treating it?

Skin Problems - How Homeopathy Helps in Treating it?

Almost everyone experiences a skin infection at some point of time or the other. A skin infection can be defined as any change to the skin that affects its look, colour or texture. It may or may not be accompanied by pain and itchiness. While some skin infections clear up on their own, others need medication. Homeopathy is a holistic form of treatment that addresses the root cause of the infection instead of only the symptoms presented. Thus it cures the disease instead of merely subduing the symptoms. Additionally, homeopathic medication has negligible side effects.

Here are a few homeopathic remedies that can be used to treat skin infections:

  1. Rhus toxicodendron: This can be used to treat cases of eczema where the skin is covered in small blisters. It can also soothe the itchiness, pain and swelling that accompanies this rash. Such rashes are aggravated by cold and damp weather and can turn into herpes or uriticaria is left untreated.
  2. Graphites: Graphites can be used to treat a number of skin infections. It is most commonly used for dry or itchy skin, cracked corners of the mouth or eyes, blisters on the scalp and hair that breaks easily. It can also be used to treat eruptions between fingers and at joint bends.
  3. Pulsatilla: Pulsatilla is used primarily to treat acne and nettle rash. It can also be used to treat rashes that accompany menstruation in women and rashes due to indigestion or uterine problems.
  4. Sepia: Sepia is a useful homeopathic medicine for herpes and psoriasis. It can also be used to treat eczema on the hands and dry, chapped skin.
  5. Arsenicum: : Any skin problem that results in the thickening of skin along with itchiness and a burning sensation can be treated with Arnicum. Some such skin ailments are chronic uriticaria, psoriasis and chronic eczema.  This homeopathic medicine  is also used to treat pimples and nettle rash.
  6. Sulpher: Sulpher is a very good way to treat acne, psoriasis and eczema. It is best known for its centrifugal properties that bring symptoms up to the surface of the skin. Sulpher can also be used to treat rough skin and burning sensations caused by aggravated washing.
  7. Thuja: Thuja is the most effective way of treating warts and ensures that they do not recur. Its antibacterial properties make it also useful in treatments of acne, black heads, age spots, scaly skin, freckles and carbuncles. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

You can also try mixing turmeric powder and gram’s flour to light your lips. Just keep in mind that gram’s flour dries out lips making it a poor option for those whose lips are already dry. If you do use this mix, be sure to use a heavy double cream designed to moisturize your lips after you remove the mix. 7. Mix Honey, Almond Oil and Sugar Another great remedy is to mix sugar, honey and a little bit of olive or almond oil. Apply this to your lips, massaging it in for ten minutes

Neck may get dark complexion if melanin pigmentation of that area is increased or sometimes when the dead cells of skin on that area are not being removed naturally. * you are advised to destress yourself & wear loose collar shirt which do not compress the blood supply around the neck. 7 Most Effective Anti-aging Derma Treatments!

7 Most Effective Anti-aging Derma Treatments!

As you grow older, so does your skin. With age, wrinkles, fine lines and a plethora of other skin problems become all too common. However, the good news is that aging is a problem that can be arrested.

Yes, when you want to go beyond anti-aging skin creams, your dermatologist has some impressive tools for treating large pores, wrinkles, sagging skin, stretch marks, and more. Here are 7 popular anti-aging dermatological treatments:

  1. Cosmetic Surgery: The most common and popular way to arrest aging is through cosmetic surgery. Brow lifts, neck lifts and facelifts are the most popular surgical treatments to reduce signs of aging. You can opt for a single procedure, or you can choose to undergo a combination of procedures to treat your aging skin.

  2. Retinoid Creams: Extracted from vitamin A, retinol contains extraordinary anti-aging components. The best thing about retinoid is, you can get it as facial creams at cosmetic shops, or get your dermatologists to prescribe it if you require a stronger application.

  3. Filler Injections: Dermal fillers are injected under the external layer of skin to fill in wrinkles and lines. Fillers also add dimension to your face. Previously silicone fillers were very popular; nowadays dermatologists prefer hyaluronic acid fillers.

  4. Peptide Creams: Peptides are an excellent dermatological treatment for lessening wrinkles and fine lines. Peptides are short links of amino acids. Peptides augment renewed production of collagen that you lose as grow older. Like retinoid creams, you can avail them at shops and dermatology clinics.

  5. Botox: Otherwise known as Botulinum toxin, it freezes skin muscles when injected under your skin. This smooths out the lines or wrinkles on your face. Botox injections are best done by professionals, so consult your dermatologists before undergoing the procedure.

  6. Microdermabrasion: This is a popular derma treatment to remove fine lines. Microdermabrasion boosts new skin growth by using fine particles to exfoliate skin to remove superficial wrinkles or lines.

  7. Laser Skin Resurfacing: This treatment uses high-intensity light to remove wrinkles. The light improves skin elasticity, making it firmer and youthful-looking. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.
