Any cough lasting for more than 6 weeks is a chronic cough. Chronic cough is usually multifactorial and needs detailed evaluation. But allergy and TB are the 2 most common cause of chronic cough which should be excluded.

" Is bronchitis contagious? Acute bronchitis is a chest cold that occurs when the bronchial tubes get irritated and inflamed, producing mucus that makes you cough. It may or may not be the result of a bacterial infection, which makes this question a difficult one to answer.

PGDHHM, MBBS

Acute bronchitis is contagious as it is caused by either a virus or bacteria. Chronic bronchitis might not be contagious. Superimposed acute infections in a chronic case could be infectious. Hope this helps u

There is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. Topical capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, may help with arthritis, diabetic nerve pain, and other conditions. There's evidence that glucosamine can help relieve moderate to severe pain from osteoarthritis in the knee. Do reply back for private consultation. And detailed treatment plan.

Hello. am 18 years old. I was smoking cigarettes by one and half years. I am not a chain smoker I will smoke two cigarettes per day but one day I found some small amount of blood in my mucus I got scared and I am suffering from tonsillitis infection also. I will be gettingtreatpain some days. So what is the cause for getting blood in mucus. Is this happened because of tonsillitis infection or by smoking. Now from three months I had quitted smoking.

MBBS, MS - ENT
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Ahmedabad
I would like to congratulate you for quitting smoking first. Regarding blood in mucus you need systematic approach to find the cause. First a dental check up is needed, then a thorough ent check up is required and finally a chest physician's opinion is needed. This will be a complete work up for your problem. And remember most of the people who quit smoking they restart in one year so be strong and be prepared to avoid several opportunities may come your way to restart smoking.

Hi take ginger tea mixed with 2-3 crushed garlic cloves. Massaging the chest with warm sesame oil mixed with salt helps to loosen the phlegm deposited in the chest, especially, when followed with steam inhalation. Take shwas kuthar ras twice a day. Pranacharya asthamin capsule 1-1 twice a day. And pranacharya shwas vikarasav 2-2 tsf twice a day. 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. Take hot water steam.
