I have migraine problem. I have checked by many doctors. Even they prescribed lots of tests. But they couldn't find any disease they always said that nothing you have. But when I have headache I can not do any work even my first priority is to take medicine paracetamol and take a sleep, and I always do vomiting when I have headache. This occurs 15-20 times in a month. I need permanent solution for my headache.

Neurologist,
Hello. Sorry to hear about your headache problem. If migraines are occurring as frequently as you experience, you need to take a daily medication to get the situation under control, besides continuing to take SOS medication for acute headaches. Also, it becomes important to observe lifestyle precautions to prevent headaches-- having a regular lifestyle, sleeping well, drinking plenty water, aerobic exercise-- can all help prevent headaches. Besides note what foods could be triggering your headaches. Best,

I have got multiple sclerosis. Could you help me by telling me about the diet requirements for an Ms. patient.
The development of MS has been associated with: a. an increased presence of antigliadin antibodies typical of gluten intolerance. b. low blood levels of vitamin D. c. low blood levels of antioxidants. d. high intakes of saturated fat so better to avoid high in animal fat or saturated fat Take gluten-free diet, which eliminates all wheat, rye, barley, and triticale foods, take diet rich in antioxidants consult for further guidance

Migraine headache is characterised by 1.unilateral pulsating headache associated with nause/vomiting and photophobia / phonophobia. 2. There are triggers for migraine like sun exposure, certain foods or smell, lack of sleep, excess caffeine etc. The triggers are variable for different patients. 3.Migraine attacks can be managed by simple painkillers like paracetamol but in resistant cases drugs like Sumatriptan may be needed. 4.For frequent episodes of migraine preventive medications are to be taken by prescription. Follow these lifestyle changes to avoid migraine headache 1. Maintain regular sleep wake cycle, even on holiday's. 2. Don't skip meals. Take regular healthy diet with adequate fluids 3. Do not consume excess caffeine / carbohydrates / alcohol or smoke. 4. Exercise daily ( aerobics and cardiovascular) 5. Identify your headache trigger and try to avoid it. 6. Migraine is a kind of relapsing headache. Its symptoms include - episodic unilateral or bilateral, severe and pulsating headaches, associated at times with nausea and vomiting, relieved momentarily on rest or taking medications and aggravated by precipitating factors. The treatment of migraine is mainly done for relief from acute headache attacks and later treatments to prevent future relapses. Also treatment of factors which tend to cause relapses is also important. Consult a headache specialist for a composite and complete treatment. You may contact me online for further queries and assistance in treatment in this regard.

Agnesji, I am not aware if hypothyroidism increases blood pressure. Your blood pressure particularly systolic seems to be varying quite a bit, it is not good. Appropriate medication should settle it. Ideally on treatment bp should 130 / 80 mm hg, altering present drugs or adding some new compound should be able to help in reducing the systolic pressure. You also control hypothyroidism effectively (maintaining tsh between 3 to 4 milli units/ml). That will help in over all well being.

Homeopathic Medicines For Migraine!

Migraine is a type of headache and is characterized by headache on one side of the head. In many cases of migraine, the pain is experienced all over the head and not just on one side. The pain is throbbing in nature. Migraine is mostly caused due to excess stress. Going out in the sun, improper sleep, exposure to loud noise and disruption in eating patterns are other common causes, which lead to migraine. Homeopathic medicines are widely used for treating migraine headaches and provide an effective remedy.

Here are some homeopathic medicines used for curing migraines of different types:

  • Belladonna: This is the best homeopathic medicine for migraine which is accompanied by intense throbbing headache. A sense of fullness is also felt in the head, and the headache worsens when exposed to sunlight. Belladonna is also used for migraines developed due to exposure to cold air or catching a cold.
  • Glonoinum: This form of homeopathic medicine is used for migraines where there is an excessive congestion in the head. The patient might feel that the head would burst, and it seems to be bigger. Heat is felt around the head, and the eyeballs get protruded. Glonoinum is also used to treat migraines, which occur because of long exposure to the sun.
  • Spigelia: This medicine is very effective for curing migraines felt on the left side of the head or left-sided migraine. The headache is usually located over the left temporal area of the head, forehead and eyes. The patient may have the sensation of a tight band being tied around their head.
  • Sanguinaria Canadensis: This is a perfect homeopathic medicine for treating right sided migraines where the pain and throbbing are felt on the right side of the head. The pain usually starts from the back of the head and settles over the right eye, affecting the entire right side of the head. The medicine is also prescribed in case of headaches, which occur during the morning and increase during the day. Migraines in women after menopause are also cured by this medicine.
  • Iris Versicolor: This is an effective homeopathic medicine for treating migraine where intense nausea, vomiting and acidity are observed. The vomiting is acidic, sour and bitter in taste and a burning sensation in the alimentary canal is also felt.
  • Nux Vomica: In case of migraines characterized by gastric problems, this medicine is used. It provides an effective cure for migraines, which occur due to indigestion, constipation and piles. When the migraine worsens after intake of spicy food or alcohol, this medicine provides quick treatment.

Homeopathic medicines are very efficient for curing migraine headaches and there are medicines for all types of migraines occurring due to different causes. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

PGD Maternal Child Health, MBBS
General Physician, Akola
If you do not have tremors at rest, and only when you intend to do something, it may be of cerebellar origin. If the severity is such that it affects your performance as intended, you should get a thorough neurological examination by a qualified doctor preferably a neurophysician. Do as directed after that.
