I got my first period at December 4 and it was very heavy after my c section at 12 September. I got my second period at 26 January and it was very light than usual and it last for 6 days like Normal period. I took home pregnancy test and it came out negative. I am breastfeeding to my baby. Is it normal? Or it is implantation bleeding? Worried.

It is common not to get period or delayed periods or scanty periods when breast feeding is going on. So during this time it is important to use reliable family planning method so that either you are not worried about pregnancy now and then or don’t miss diagnosing pregnancy early.

How To Revive Excitement In Marriage

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Delhi
How To Revive Excitement In Marriage

Every marriage requires effort from both the individuals involved, to make it last. Many times, marriages end because the partners start to believe that the spark is no longer there. There are, however, many ways to add the spark, lust and excitement back into your marriage.

  1. Add a component of surprise - Mystery and surprise imitate the emotional condition of a new romance. But that doesn’t mean surprising your partner with expensive dinners or taking him/her away to the Mediterranean. A small affectionate gesture also goes a long way. For example, you can surprise your partner at work and take her/him away for a lunch or send him/her a love note or a greeting card through e-mail.
  2. Join in new activities with your partner - Experiment with dissimilar activities that you have never done before. This will help you bring back the excitement in your relationship. For example, you can plan a slow dance with your partner, or hike a mountain, or go deep-sea fishing.
  3. Do something to kick up your arousal - Do activities that boost your adrenaline. For example, you can include exercises such as hiking on a mountain, a roller coaster ride, watching a horror movie, or even simply a treadmill exercise.
  4. Listen to your partner - Often couples talk, but not listen. An exchange of attention brings closeness. Ask your partner about their whereabouts or what they have been doing all day long, and do listen and give feedback to their answers. Encourage your partner to talk about his/her hidden feelings and fears. Praise and appreciate the small things your mate does every day, as he/she deserves appreciation.
  5. Travel and create an adventure in your marriage - Take a small vacation alone with your partner. Get out of the house for a day or two and choose a place that interests the both of you. You don’t have to go far away from your home and invest a lot of money. Just travel to a place where you two can spend quality time together.
  6. Touch your partner more often - Touch generates arousal and a sense of support and comfort, both psychologically and physiologically. Hold your partner's hand during a walk and make sure that you kiss, hug or embrace every single day. This will remind you that you both are bonded together physiologically.
  7. Play - In the nub of a busy life, couples forget to have fun and enjoy their married life. Every relationship should be about fun. This not only makes you enjoy each other's company, laugh and add fun to your relationship, but also leads you both to sexual arousal.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Hi Doctor, I am 29 year old and currently having heavy bleeding like periods but my last date was 20 july, so please ...
Dear Lybrate user. I understand. Some women may experience bleeding about 10-14 days after their period. This is usually caused by a temporary drop in levels of the hormone oestrogen at the time of ovulation (when an egg is released by an ovary). This is quite normal. Secondly you could be experiencing your periods for the first time after the delivery. In any case, consult your gynecologist for advise. Take care.

Want to Conceive But Not Able to

MBBS,MD,FMAS,DMAS,FICRS
Gynaecologist, Bangalore
Want to Conceive But Not Able to

After marriage usually sexually active couple do get good news of pregnancy usually within the first year unless they are intentionally delaying or postponing it. But if they not getting pregnancy it is common to face embarrassing questions when they attend a social gathering which s bombarded by family and friends.
So the couple get stressed out and sometimes go into depression and start thinking about not getting pregnant all the time leading to loss of interest in usual work and life and get disturbed even at work place.
Soon follows the advice of friends n family to visit some age old so called baba or to visit some particular place of worship to get pooja s done to become pregnant instead of asking them to visit a gynaecologist or infertility specialist to find out the cause of not conceiving and getting help by getting treated.

We doctors keep saying that at the present era of digitisation couple should start visiting gynaecologist or infertility specialist soon after one year of infertility to get themselves counselled, diagnosed the problem and to get treated. So that patients get help from trained professionals and get pregnant sooner than they think by using various treatment modalities. The latest modalities available include IUI, IVF, ICSI, laser hatching, blastocyst culture, ovum or sperm donor programme, etc.

So I request all the infertile couple to please do visit nearest infertility specialist to get diagnosed your problem and get treated for the specific problem and lead a happy family life.

Vitamin e capsule contains methyl and propyl parabens is that good for health and face or it causes any effects some says breast cancers will come from parabens is that true?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, FBD (Fellowship in Breast Diseases), UICC Fellowship

Parabens are not good in higher amount for health. Better to avoid. You can take vitamin E from natural sources like almonds, spinach, avocado, sweet potato, wheat germ, sunflower seeds etc. Try to include vitamin C in your diet for better repair of all body tissue s.
