Too much cholesterol in the blood can lead to cardiovascular disease. What you eat has a direct impact on your cholesterol level. In fact, a diet rich in fiber and other cholesterol-lowering foods may help lower cholesterol as much as statin medication for some people. Working with a registered dietitian and doctor is the key to develop and maintain a successful health program to manage it. I will inform you on how to make diet, lifestyle changes, make you understand instructions for taking medication because it won't work if you don't take it as directed. Consult privately for a holistic dietary therapy to solve your problems.

How to reduce cholesterol in my body. What are the medicines that can help in reducing cholestrol.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
How to reduce cholesterol in my body. What are the medicines that can help in reducing cholestrol.
Hello dear High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. Garlic,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

Dear, What I am getting from your question that you r having pain 24 hrs a day, because without breathe we can't assume life. Sometimes it may be musculoskeletal pain. Sometimes we take normal sensation as a pain, if we r nervous or anxious about it. I think you should correct your sleeping, sitting or driving habits. Exercise may help you. If still pain persist, you should be investigated.

Every thing can't be guided by doctors after they perform special surgery like a bypass surgery which is like a new life given and healthy years added but only if patients do learn to take care of their health and share responsibility. Regarding oils, each one of oils you have mentioned is heart or health friendly for normal persons also. My own choice is mustard oil, small amount to saute the vegetables in an iron based thick vessel and then cook by steam using cooker if need be, it retains the nutrients and taste and doesn't give a look of boiled vegetables to be taken by patients because after bypass surgery one should learn to live as normal a life as possible but with caution. If frying to be done occasionally, use groundnut or soy oil and don't reuse it. Keep it aside to cook vegetables, as only a spoon will be used for half a kilo. Olive oil is good but for western style of cooking and we aren't sure about purity of the oil sold to us in india. Do eat good fats everyday, like a spoon of desi ghee or butter and a katori of assorted nuts. There's no need to change oils or follow the ads on tv, remember no oil is zero cholesterol.

If you have recurrent attack of headache1. It could be a tension headache due to anxiety/stress, depression inadequate sleep, low bp/high bp, migraine, prolonged use of cell phone/computer, chronic anaemia, refractive error, chronic sinusitis, organic brain lesion 2. Avoid stress, physical and mental exertion, have adequate sound sleep for 7-8 hours daily in the night 3. Go for regular exercise 4. Practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise to calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress 5. Check for refractive error, sinusitis hemoglobin, bp 6. Avoid prolonged use of cell phone/computer 7. Consult neurologist to rule out other causes of headache, if required take a ct scan of head to exclude any brain lesion 8. If it is migraine you have to take migraine prophylactic drug after consulting neurologist 9. Consult me for further advice.

I am suffering from ring worm since a month. itching heavily below chest and thigh please suggest best medicine.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I am suffering from ring worm since a month. itching heavily below chest and thigh please suggest best medicine.
Hello, ringworm is caused by a fungus that grows on the skin. Once the fungus is established, it spreads out in rings. The centre of the ring may clear up, while a new ring of infection develops at the edge of the old ring. Fungi are microscopic organisms that can live off the dead tissues of your skin, hair, and nails, much like a mushroom can grow on the bark of a tree. Medication: take schwabe's tellurium 30/ thrice daily for 2 weeks. Management: good personal hygiene helps prevent the spread of ringworm. Teach your child to practice good hygiene and generally not to share combs, brushes, or hats. Children also shouldn't share towels, clothes, or sports equipment that haven't been properly cleaned. Avoid wearing any wet clothes, prefer cotton clothes, keep the area dry and clean. Never use others towels or clothes as well as don't share yours with others. Ringworm can also be transmitted from an infected dog or cat, so avoid animals who look mangy or have bald spots in their coats. If you have an animal that you think may have ringworm, take it to the vet for treatment.

High Blood Pressure

High Blood Pressure

High Blood Pressure Causes

High blood pressure is many times a symptom of underlying disease. You can visualize heart as a pump which is pumping blood (viscous liquid) across the body. It supplies the brain where it pumps against gravity. Similarly it also receives the blood from the legs which is again against gravity. In this closed circulation the blood vessels allow the gases like oxygen and carbondioxide and some liquid to pass through the membrane along with nutrients and waste products to and from various tissues.

Blood pressure increases

1. The heart has to pump with higher intensity due to a blockage which restricts the blood supply to a critical organ including the brain and heart.

2. Blood vessels become narrow due to constriction or fat and calcified plaques deposited.

3. Certain hormones (Chemicals) secreted by the kidneys and other organs cause the blood vessels to contract.

4. Stress which releases enzymes that increase blood pressure.

5. Electrolytes like Sodium levels increase the osmotic pressure thereby increasing the volume of blood and thus blood pressure. It is mainly due to an underline endocrine disease.

Considering these five points we need to investigate understand and try to address the cause by symptomatically managing the blood pressure.

High blood pressure has multiple effects on to the body especially on small blood vessels which can burst (bleed) in brain, eyes and other organs. It also increases the risk of pushing a clot into the brain as well as damaging the blood vessel itself. The cholesterol and other lipids which circulate in the blood get pushed towards the walls of the vessel due to high blood pressure thereby increasing the risk of atherosclerosis.

In short high blood pressure is a serious entity needs to be addressed objectively.
