Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

Recently I am diagnosed with umbilical hernia. My doctor told that I even have diastasis recti. So my doctor suggested me abdominoplasty along with hernia repair. Is it safe to undergo abdominoplasty? My belly is very much protruding as if pregnant. I have undergone two c_ sections. My last c_section is in 2012. Please let me know the pros and cons of this surgery. Thank u.

Dear lybrate-user, if Diastasis recti - abdominal seperation is long enough then you may opt for laparoscopic surgery / abdominoplasty but the risk are high several complications may arise such as scar, infection, rupture of sutures, fat necrosis of the area, keliods, nerve damage, persistance pain and so on. I would suggest if the protrusion is not enough then you may take Homeopathic medicines for it to resolve then to suffer from such complications that may arise of surgery. For now use Calcarea Carb 30 once daily for only five days and consult back.

Asthma - 7 Signs You Are Suffering From It!

Asthma is a chronic medical condition which causes narrowing and inflammation of the bronchial tubes (a passage which allows oxygen to leave and enter the lungs). Asthma is characterized by a wheezing or a whistling sound while breathing (due to uneven flow to and from the lungs and the air pipes). Shortness of breath is also experienced during an asthma attack. People who already have the condition are susceptible to sudden asthma attacks, if they are exposed to a situation or a substance which resulting in an irritation or allergy and thus causing changes their breathing pattern.

Symptoms of asthma

  1. Breathlessness or general difficulty in breathing (depending on hoe mild or severe an episode is)
  2. Wheezing and hissing sound while breathing or talking.
  3. Difficulty in speaking and may even be accompanied by severe coughing.
  4. Tightness can be experienced in the chest area.
  5. Difficulty in breathing which generally affects your sleep pattern.
  6. Skin around the rib cage appears to be hollow or ‘sucked in.’
  7. Bluish or gray color on your fingernail beds and lips

Treatment of asthma

  1. Prevention: Avoid certain situations and substances which trigger asthma such as pollen, clumps of dust, insect droppings, and moulds among others.
  2. Avoid smokingSmoking and consuming tobacco is known to worsen asthma and thus is an absolute imperative to quit.
  3. Cough medicines: Stop taking cough syrups or other cough medications. Such medication cause side effects and doesn’t help with the discomfort caused by asthma and may even worsen the symptoms
  4. Avoid NSAID’S: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can worsen asthma for some people. These should not be consumed without consulting a health care specialist.
  5. Stop taking diet supplements: Dietary or weight control supplements should be avoided as these have ingredients which may trigger an attack or worsen a bad situation.
  6. Allergy shots: Sometimes asthma can also be triggered due to certain allergies. Allergy shots are recommended which can relieve your allergy symptoms. These shots increase your immunity by blocking the allergens (dust mites, mold, pets and pollens) from irritating the nerves and areas of the body which may trigger an attack. Minute amounts of allergens are injected over time to build up the tolerance level of an individual. Hye. You can slim down your thighsand hips and smooth away that cellulite, but you can also build the muscles in your legs, which are some of the largest and strongest muscles in your body. Stronger leg muscles make your overall life feel so much more effortless. You'll walk with more confidence and with a spring in your step. You'll be able to climb stairs without getting tired. And you'll be able to go on strenuous hikes—all because of your strong legs! You will feel better about yourself from the inside out. Move 1: Seated Pillow Squeeze (works on inner thighs) Sit on a sturdy chair (one without wheels). Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Place a pillow between yourthighs. Exhale as you squeeze the pillow between your thighs, as if you were trying to squeeze the stuffing out of the pillow. Hold for 1 minute as you breathe normally. Release and proceed to Move 2. Move 2: Seated Hand Push (works outer thighs and hips) Sit on a sturdy chair. Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Place your palms on the outsides of your knees. While keeping your palms and arms stationary, push your knees outward against your palms, as if you were trying to push your palms away. At the same time, press inward with your hands, preventing your thighsfrom pushing them outward. Hold this isometric contraction for 1 minute, breathing normally. Release and proceed to Move 3. Move 3: Seated Leg Raise (works fronts of the thighs) Sit on a sturdy chair. Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Rest your hands on the chair at your sides. Exhale as you lift and extend your right leg. Hold for 30 seconds as you breathe normally. Then inhale as you lower your right leg and exhale as you repeat with your left leg. Hold for 30 seconds while breathing normally. Release and proceed to Move 4. Move 4: Seated Bridge (works the backs of the thigh and rear end) Sit on the edge of a sturdy chair. Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Rest your palms on the chair at your sides. Exhale as you lift your hips, allowing your palms and feet to support your body weight. Continue to lift your hips until your body resembles the shape of a bridge. Hold for 20 to 60 seconds while breathing normally. Release and return to Move 1. Repeat Moves 1-4 once more, and you're done.

Weight loss is not the same as fat loss. Weight is part of your whole body including your muscles, fats, bones, organs, water. What we need to consider is your fat weight only. So the minute you binge on sweets and all the wrong foods your body holds water and that is the weight which reflect on the scale. You must be in a very restricted diet the whole week so the minute you eat the weight increases. Meat is not bad for health. It is a good source of protein so if you do in right quantities it helps you in fat loss by increasing muscle mass.
