As the pain is directly related with the act of deep breathing, it is because of stretching of thoracic cage having lung coating pleura and intercostal muscles. The cold you are suffering from is the basic cause. If there is no high grade fever or distress in breathing, there is no need to worry. Simple anlgesic will help in relieving you of this pain.

High blood pressure always. 150/100. But physically feel fit. No any other problem.
Raised blood pressure is not a disease in itself. It is just a sign of some underlying disorder. Homeopathy offers good prognosis for cases of essential hypertension. The treatment is based upon the cause and the totality of the case. A constitutional homoeopathic treatment will cure you permanently. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

Hi. Blood pressure is something that keeps fluctuating. This shows that your body is capable of increasing bp when required and normalize it when required. So nothing to worry about this. Bp problem is when your bp is continuously high. Take care.

Slower Heartbeat - Know The Reasons Behind It!

MBBS, MD , DM Cardiology
Cardiologist, Bhopal
Slower Heartbeat - Know The Reasons Behind It!

Having bradycardia implies that your heart beats very slowly. For the vast majority, a heart beats from sixty to hundred pulses a minute while very few are viewed as ordinary. In case your heart beats under sixty times each minute, it is slower than usual. A moderate heart rate can be ordinary and solid. On the other hand it could be an indication of an issue with the heart's electrical framework.

For a few people, moderate heart rate does not create any issues. It can be an indication of being exceptionally fit. Sound youthful grown-ups and sports persons frequently have heart rates of fewer than sixty beats a minute. In other individuals, bradycardia is an indication of an issue with the heart's electrical framework. It implies that the heart's regular pacemaker isn't working right or that the electrical pathways of the heart are disturbed.

A moderate heart rate may make you:

  1. Feel blurry eyed or woozy.
  2. Feel short of breath and feel that it’s harder to work out.
  3. Feel tired.
  4. Have neck pain or an inclination that your heart is beating or rippling (palpitations).
  5. Feel bewildered or experience difficulty concentrating.
  6. Black out, if a moderate heart rate causes a drop in pulse.

A few people do not have side effects, or their indications are mild to the point that they think they are quite recently part of getting more seasoned. You can discover how quick your heart is beating by checking your heart rate. In case your pulse is moderate or uneven, talk to a specialist.

How bradycardia is dealt with depends on what is causing it. Treatment likewise relies on symptoms. Given below are some of the symptoms:

  1. In case harm to the heart's electrical framework causes your heart to pulsate too quickly, you will presumably need a pacemaker. A pacemaker is a gadget put under your skin that revises the moderate heart rate. Some people might have a kind of bradycardia that requires a pacemaker.
  2. In case another medical issue, for example, hypothyroidism or an electrolyte irregularity, is bringing about a moderate heart rate, treating that issue may cure the bradycardia.
  3. In case a medicine is making your heart to pulsate too gradually, your specialist may change the dosage or recommend an alternate drug. In case you can't quit taking that medicine, you may require a pacemaker.

Bradycardia is frequently the aftereffect of another heart condition, so finding a way to carry on with a heart-solid way of life will enhance your general health. This may include:

  1. Showing at least a bit of restraint and dedication to a good diet routine that includes a considerable amount of organic products, vegetables, whole grains, fish, and low-fat or nonfat dairy foods.
  2. Being gradually on most, if not all, days of the week. Your specialist can let you know what type of exercise is okay for you.
  3. Getting more fit in case you have to, and maintaining a solid weight.
  4. Not smoking.
  5. Overseeing other medical issues, for example, hypertension or elevated cholesterol.

Has a pain in heart when tense. Twice bye pass done. Any precautions or r these symptoms of any other disease?

Has a pain in heart when tense. Twice bye pass done.
Any precautions or r these symptoms of any other disease?
Hello sir, based on the short description it would be difficult for me to help you determine whether the cause of the pain is cardiac or not. Considering the history of bypass surgery, it's best to rule cardiac cause of pain. It's always better to find the cause and than treat the same. No particular precaution to be taken, except continuation of medicine prescribed and an active lifestyle with healthy diet. For finding the cause: if you are physically active, a treadmill stress test would be the best choice. If not a stress echocardiography should be a reasonable alternative. The above test should be particularly done if the chest pain occurs when you exert (being tense is a mental exertion) climb stairs and if there is associated breathlessness. Let me know if any clarification needed and I would be happy to help. Regards

His cholesterol and triglycerides levels are pretty high. It could be familial, hopefully he doesn't drink much and smoke. Since you are already taking dietary precautions, he should be started on medications and daily exercise. The levels need to be repeated after 4 weeks to see response.

You don't have high blood pressure at the moment, but it is slightly above optimal. Single readings are not diagnostic. Optimal BP is <120/80. It would be wise to adopt a healthy lifestyle, such as eating healthily, reduce salt in your diet, exercise, lose weight if overweight, limit alcohol consumption and stop smoking if you smoke. The good thing about exercise is that it reduces the strain on the heart and also raises your HDL (good cholesterol) as well as improving circulation. Now with regards to exercise, the best type of exercise for the heart is aerobic activity which ensures the large groups of muscles in the body get a good work out. Swimming is good, as is brisk walking, dancing and cycling, etc. With regards to diet, as I mentioned before, limit salt consumption and the amount of saturated fats you eat. Also limit the amount of complex carbs you eat. Try and eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day * and also try and eat 3 portions of oily fish per week. Try and avoid frying your food, grill it instead. Switch to olive oil. The key is moderation, you can eat anything you like providing you don't go OTT. * A recent study showed that eating your "5 a day" fruit and vegetables may not cut the cancer risk. Many people have interpreted this study into meaning that eating your "5 a day" fruit and vegetables isn't beneficial at all and that what Doctors and Nurses have been advising patients is incorrect. This isn't accurate. The study just looked at the diet-cancer link (which we already knew wasn't very strong anyway), it didn't look at the other health benefits that eating fruit and vegetables has. But that study has certainly given the alties and their "special cancer curing diet" food for thought! There are various causes of high blood pressure, but proper diet and regular exercise are definitely the biggest part of the equation. “ Actually there are two types, essential and secondary, the latter accounts for about 5% of cases and can be caused by kidney and/or hormone issues. Most people have “essential” hypertension where the cause is less than clear. We know that a poor diet, obesity, excess alcohol, smoking and lack of exercise are major risk factors. Diet and lifestyle changes often helps and is sometimes enough to keep patients off anti-hypertensive medication.

Dear lybrateuser, -your heart rate is within the range of 50-88% of your target heart rate when you are exercising, since you achieve the target heart rate it is beneficial for your heart & overall health, if you feel tired after exercise then reduce your pace & the rate will come down -along with aerobic exercise you should do moderate weight lifting at least two days in a week, also do stretching & yoga -have a well balanced, nutritious diet with fruits & vegetables & proteins, eggs, milk, yogurt, paneer, cheese, beans, soyaproducts, nuts-almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts -have 8-10 glasses of water in a day or more if you exert & sweat a lot.

My wife's age is 30 years. She has HBP. Is it possible to control HBP without medicine?
It depends on the level of blood pressure she has, if its less than 160/100 then you can try lifestyle modification like low salt diet, regular exercise, etc, however keep monitoring her blpod pressure and if it is not controlled in 2 months, start medications.

Hi, It seems to be more of anxiety rather than cardiac complaint. Better visit a nearby doctor or share more details of your whole case o know the cause and the diagnosis of your condition. Here are few asanas which will help you in reducing the anxiety problem. -Sit in the meditation position (cross-legged or heel seat) and put the hands in the lap. The back is straight and the belly relaxed. Stop one minute every thought. Then remain in meditation, thoughts can come and go as they please. All feelings of anger, fear and grief appear and dissolve by themselves. -Dhanurasana: Lie on your stomach with your feet hip-width apart and your arms by the side of your body. Fold your knees and hold your ankles. Breathing in, lift your chest off the ground and pull your legs up and back. Look straight ahead Keep the pose stable while paying attention to your breath. Your body is now taut as a bow. Continue to take long deep breaths as you relax in this pose. But don’t get carried away! Do not overdo the stretch. After 15 -20 seconds, as you exhale, gently bring your legs and chest to the ground. Release the ankles and relax. -Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. (The mind and body are deeply connected. If the mind is occupied by thoughts and worries then the shavasana will be unsuccessful. Therefore one has to acquire the stability of the mind along with the stability of the body.) Anuloma involves inhaling through both nostrils together and exhaling each breath alternately between the left and right nostrils. The thumb of the right hand is used to manipulate the right nostril, while the pinky and ring finger are used to control the left nostril. There are many other poses of yoga like Balasan, Setu Bandha Sarvangasan, Uttanasan, Garudasan, Savasana, Triconasana, Viprita Karani, Marjaryasana, Dhyana, Bhujangasana, Anulom-Vilum, Pranayam, etc. Another stress-buster can be getting involved in any of your hobbies (may be a childhood hobby which you used to enjoy a lot!) - dancing, singing, painting, listening to soothing music, playing musical instruments, etc. (Believe me, you would really enjoy doing this alone as well or may be with your friends, kids). Medication: Take Bakson’s Calm Aid tablet/ 1 tablet daily once for 4 weeks. And do practice breathing exercises (Pranayam, Anulom-Vilum) and meditation.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. It is essential to first control your BP and blood glucose effectively. BP should be 120 to 130 /70 to 80 mm Hg and Blood glucose fasting <100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. With this if one is taking a healthy balanced diet then there is hardly any need to add regular vitamin supplements. Since I am a diabetologist, have very little idea about homeopathy. But if one has the need for vitamins then it can only be met by taking specific supplements. Thanks.
