My mom has burning sensation in her palms and feet, since last 2-3 weeks, she has been taking paracetamol as per doctor's advice, i've researched on the internet and doctors say its a case of nerve damage, can any doctor explain me in clear what exactly this could be, and what are the tests we can perform to analyze this problem.

Hot hands and feet can refer to a warm sensation or a painful tingling in the limbs. This is often made worse at night, making it difficult to sleep, though performing physical activities can also cause this condition to appear. People 45 and older are more likely to develop hot, red or burning hands and feet than other age groups. In many cases this condition is temporary, but certain conditions can cause this condition to become permanent. Possible Causes of Hot Hands and Feet There are a number of conditions that can cause the hands and feet to develop an uncomfortable burning sensation. Evaluating your other symptoms will help you narrow down the cause so you can get adequate treatment. • Erythromelalgia- This condition is known to cause a burning pain, redness or increase in temperature in the hands and feet. These symptoms will begin as a tingling or itching that will slowly progress to a painful burning sensation. Some people note occasional flares of these symptoms while others experience them all the time. This condition may occur spontaneously or as a result of a neurological disease. Doctors will attempt to note underlying causes of this condition to ensure that proper treatment can be administered. • Carpal or Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome- These conditions are very similar in nature. Each causes pressure to build up on the joints, leading to a burning sensation in the hands and feet due to the compression on the nerves. This sensation is often described as an electric shock that radiates out from the affected joints. • Hypothyroidism- Hypothyroidism is a condition that is caused when the thyroid is not producing enough of the necessary hormones. If this is left untreated it can cause the joints to develop a hot or burning sensation, which can manifest itself strongly in the hands and feet. • Kidney Dysfunction- If the kidneys are not functioning the way they should it can lead to a burning sensation throughout the body. This is caused when the body is unable to rid itself of cell waste through the bloodstream, leading to a buildup of waste. If the cells are constantly exposed to these toxins they can begin to break down, causing bodily damaged. If this condition is severe enough, the patient may need to begin dialysis treatments to rid themselves of this waste. • Liver Damage- On a similar note, waste and toxins can build up in the body if the liver is not filtering them away the way it should. If toxins are allowed to build up in the bloodstream it can cause a burning pain throughout the body which may become more severe in the limbs. • Nerve Damage- Damage to the nerves can cause an uncomfortable burning sensation to appear. This symptom will typically begin in the limbs before spreading throughout the body. Conditions such as diabetes can cause this damage to appear. Managing these underlying conditions will be a key to eliminating your discomfort. • Vitamin Deficiency- A diet that is low in B1, B5, B6 and B12 can cause a burning sensation to develop in the hands and feet. This is caused when the body is unable to maintain the nervous system properly. Adjusting your diet or taking supplements to increase your vitamin intake can help eliminate these symptoms.

Health Benefits Of Anti-oxidants:

POST GRADS IN DIETETICS AND APPLIED NUTRITION, B.SC (H) IN FOOD AND NUTRITION

Health Benefits Of Anti-oxidants:
Antioxidants are substances that may protect cells in your body from free radical damage that can occur from exposure to certain chemicals, smoking, pollution, radiation, and as a byproduct of normal metabolism. Dietary antioxidants include selenium, vitamin a and related carotenoids, vitamins c and e, plus various phytochemicals such as lycopene, lutein, and quercetin.

There are large amounts of antioxidants in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains and smaller amounts of antioxidants in meats, poultry and fish. Junk foods, such as highly processed fast foods tend to be much lower in antioxidants.

Can you advice some tablets for my
Girl friend so that she will have a desire to have sex.
There are no tablets as such available or manufactured by brands. Traditionally successful mineral to be taken in Betel juice or chewed in Betel Leaf for few days would give desired results. You may book audio consultancy too if you like for getting counselling as well as consult for getting sex enhancing mineral for females.

On 15th day after. Urine test shows weekly positive. What are the scops of pregnancy and what are the other elements I need to check. What must be the minimum result of hcg test that I have always given in the lab and waiting for report.

On 15th day after. Urine test shows weekly positive. What are the scops of pregnancy and what are the other elements ...
Weekly positive is positive but sometimes it may suggest a failing pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy. Get a serum b hcg, at this stage the value should be in 5 digits. Repeat it after 48 hours of first test .if the value doubles, it confirms the normal pregnancy.

My partner swolows my semen is alright or it will create a problem? can she get pregnant?

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Nothing to worry, it is safe provided both of you maintain optimum hygiene. Swallowing semen carries no additional risk other than those inherent in fellatio. Fellatio does carry transmission risk for sexually transmitted diseases such as human papillomavirus (hpv) or herpes, especially for people with bleeding gums, gingivitis or open sores. An average ejaculation contains trace amounts of many nutrients such as zinc, calcium and potassium, as well as vitamin b12. The limited studies on the health benefits of semen ingestion are positive.

Foods to avoid during menstruation cycle

Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Foods to avoid during menstruation cycle
Foods to avoid during menstruation cycle

Eating right kind of food can make your irritable menstruation days easier. It also helps in reducing stress level, cramps and managing mood swings.
Here’s how you must mind your food.

1. Dairy products and red meat: Dairy products like cheese, yoghurt and milk and red meat contain arachidonic acids which elevate cramps during your periods.

2. Fats, Trans fat and fried food: High intake of fatty, trans fatty and fried food leads to bloating and breast tenderness and increased estrogen levels which causes cramps. It’s better not to consume fats for few days.

3. Processed food and salt: Processed food contains lot of sodium. It should be avoided as it causes bloating and heavy feeling which makes the pain all the more unbearable.

4. Sugar-rich food: Sugar no doubt gives instant energy but taking excessive sugar during these days can bring fluctuation in blood sugar levels which results in stress and mood swings.

5. Alcohol: It’s important to stop taking alcohol during menstruation. But if you happen to drink at all, try to balance it out by drinking a lot of water.
