As per ancient believers those women are not advised to take bath during first days of a menstruation. As there will be temperature variation, since at that time body heat will be more with less energy. Also those women are not advised to do any strenous work. They need rest. But the most important thing is menstruating woman should follow proper hygeine, chance of infection is more. In some parts inorder to get relieve from severe abdominal pain they are advised to take hot water bath on these days.

While choosing a method of contraception, it is important that it not interfere with lactation or have negative effects on the infant. Iucd or copper t is more effective than condoms and progesterone only pills. Oc pills suppresses milk production. Estrogen containing contraceptive pill either it is standard dose or low dose, it reduces the volume of breast milk. Progestin-only contraceptives like cerazette for 28 days are safe for use by breast-feeding mothers if copper t is not acceptable.

You need to do a little exercise to tone your body. Avoid crashing your diet or avoiding food groups to reduce weight. Your body needs good nutrients whoch slso include healthy fats. Cutting them out of the diet will only further fat accumulation.

Hi. Do not worry. Pills are available for terminating pregnancy but these should be taken under guidance of a registered medical practitioner. Visit a gynaec. Do not be shy or hesitant. As early as you will visit. Easier will be the termination with pills. If you will delay too much. Procedure will become more risky. Beware of quacks and avoid any home remedies. These can be life threatening.

No of course not. It is very safe to insert coppert in asd closure patient. In fact it is the best contraceptive for such patients. I am giving you the reference of who (world health organisation) in which it is clearly mentioned that" there is no restriction" for use of coppert in such patients.

All of a sudden some kind of scars or you can say all the nerves of my wife's breast started appearing. We are worried about that. What possibly could be the reason behind this. All this happened after 1 month of her abortion. Even the size of her breast is bigger than previously. Pls suggest.

MD. DGO.DSP
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Check if she has secretions from breast if no don't worry if yes ask a doctor medicines for it. Better to get her physically checked from a doctor.

Frequently asked questions when your partner has genital herpes.

When you find out a partner has genital herpes, you may be shocked at first and then have lots of questions. Here are some answers.

How likely is it that i've been infected with genital herpes, too?

That depends on whether you have always practiced safe sex, for one thing. Also, it may depend on how long you've been sexually intimate with each other.

If you've had sex only once or twice, and if you used a condom each time, the risk is lower than if you've had unprotected sex for a long time. But you could have been infected during any one encounter.

Don't think you're in the clear because you've never seen herpes sores on your partner's genitals or your own. The symptom of herpes are often subtle and easily mistaken for something else, like bug bites, pimples, razor burn, or hemorrhoids. What's more, the virus can be contagious even when there are no symptoms.

How can I protect myself from genital herpes if we keep having sex?

While no prevention method short of abstinence is 100% effective, using a latex condom offers some protection. Your partner should tell you when symptoms flare up, which is when the virus is most contagious. Avoid sex when your partner has symptoms.

8 day after I pill got heavy period is it normal. And for how many days it will last? please help doc.
If your are using regular contraceptive pills you should start the next packet and it will gradually stop. If you are talking about a emergency pill then wait for 3-4 days; it should mostly settle.

Although stomach pain is not related with pregnancy, but some female shave pain during ovulation so continue intercourse in fertile period as there are good chances of getting pregnant in this duration.

Hi, my wife is 34 years old after miscarriage at 5 months (first child), she has put on little weight but her tummy/stomach portion has come out a lot. Second thing after delivery there is severe pain.

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
I would suggest she takes up a strict regime of diet and exercise. To avoid high calorie foods and instead take fruits, vegetables and proteins like fish, chicken, dal. Exercise like jogging/ walking/swimming/skipping. Also I would advice she gets a USG pelvis done to exclude any pathology. In the event she has any abnormal vaginal discharge she needs to consult a doctor for antibiotics.

It is better to avoid any medications unless symptoms are bothering. You should take other medications for symptomatic relief as zindatilism contains some metals which can harm baby.
