Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continuous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. Formation of stone leads to pain along the kidney region. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But if the size of the stone is more than 3mm then you should surely go for surgery.

What could be the possible reason for a small guilty like boil near the anus. I am a 35 years old female. I maintain proper hygiene and am worried now.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS

Dear, If it was painful to start with and not now then you lave p[erianal haematoma doe to constipation. If it is still painful the parianal abscess is likely. If it is very on analverge then you might have external pile which has chronic aanal fissure4 due to passage of hard faeces due to constipation. If really worried the consult aq proctologist or a general surgeon. Dr. Kiran Mehta.

The cause of obstruction to urine flow needs to be treated. Catheterisation is a temporary remedy to evacuate the bladder. If you are having prostatic hypertrophy or any stricture in the urethra, then the specific treatment for these things only can give you a permanent relief. If not done till now do a USG of abdomen to assess prostate gland, check PSA level in blood and if needed a cysto urethro scopy to know about the free passage. Then it can be discussed further.

Norma level of vit D is between between 20-50 ng/ml. A level less than 20 ng/ml indicates Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D3 is essential for healthy bone, teeth, muscle, cell growth, immunity, neuro muscular functioning and overall health. Deficiency causes ricket/osteomalacia, poor hair growth, increased risk of cancer. Treatment-Vitamin D3 60,000 unit/wk for 3 -6 months 1. Expose yourself to sunlight for 15-20 minutes daily in the morning 2. Take Milk, cheese, egg yolk, Fish (salmon/mackerel/ trout/sardines/tuna) cod liver oil, Mushroom, cereals, orange juice. 3. If your piles produce only mild discomfort, I may suggest over-the-counter creams, ointments, suppositories or pads based on your medical history. These products contain ingredients, that can relieve pain and itching, at least temporarily. Don't use an over-the-counter cream or other product for more than a week unless directed by doctor. These products can cause side effects, such as skin rash, inflammation and skin thinning. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

Kidney stones treatment depends on the types and size of stone, most kidney stones won't require invasive treatment. You may be able to pass a small stone by: drinking water. Drinking as much as 2 to 3 quarts (1.9 to 2.8 liters) a day may help flush out your urinary system. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, drink enough fluid mostly water to produce clear or nearly clear urine. Pain relievers. Passing a small stone can cause some discomfort. To relieve mild pain, according to your medical history I may prescribe pain relievers such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or naproxen sodium. Medical therapy. I am a doctor and renal (kidney) dietitian who will aslo prescribe a customized diet plan and medications to help pass your kidney stone quickly and with less pain. Do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan including dietary therapy.

high blood pressure combined with diabetes going on for a number of years are invariably dangerous to the kidney. These conditions lead to a chronic kidney damage then to chronic kidney failure. The treatment options are limited. Most important thing is to have strict sugar and bp control. Because if these diseases are ot fully controlled then damage is progressive, can cause complete failure. So make sure that his sugar levels and bp are as normal as possible. Reduce excess salt and protein intake. Drugs like nsaids (pain killers) should be avoided. If need be dialysis should be used to help kidney functioning.

What Hydronephrosis. It is fully curable. Whether operation of kidney stone causing hydrophones. Is fully successful.
When the kidney stone block the path of urine in kidney or ureter then the urine flows back to kidney & it is called hydronephrosis. It is definitely curable. If it is not cured on time then it may lead to kidney failure. Kidney stone operations do not cause hydronephrosis.

Sir, considering your age and the symptoms you've posted you seem to be suffering from something called benign prostatic hyperplasia. There is an organ called prostate around your urine tube and due to age and hormonal changes with age it becomes bigger and thus blocks the urine tube leading to problems during passing urine. It is quite a common complaint. With men of your age and you don't need to panic. There are medicines for it. You need to see a urologist. A doctor who specializes in urinary tract. He will check the size of your prostate both by rectal examination and ultrasound scan if necessary. He will also suggest a few blood tests. Called psa. Then depending on the size. He will put you on medicines. If the size is too big, he might also suggest surgery.

It would be better if you tell us all the symptoms that you have been getting. Frequent urination can be a normal thing if you don't have any other symptoms like burning sensation while urinating or pain abdomen or fever or anything unusual. When you're pregnant your womb tends to increase in size that leads to constant pressure on your bladder resulting in frequent visits to toilet. So do not worry if that is the case and take good care of your health. Do regular visits to your doctor and get periodic tests done. Good luck. But do get back if there is anything else that has been bothering you.

Thank you for writing to us. Please note the following in respect to your query: it could be simply due to a uti (urinary tract infection) you are suffering from. It could also be due to enlarge prostate (this is rare in a person at your age). Third it could be due to extreme cold at your place and you are taking/drinking lots of water. Please check the above causes and in case you require any further consultation get back to me. Thanks.
