I'm 21 years old. I'm not getting facial hair. What should I do for beard growth?
Hello. You are 21yrs. old and still haven't got full beard on face? Have you been to any endocrinologist? Got some blood test done? Share the reports with me. Gently move the razor on these areas. Medication: Start immediately with homoeopathic medication - Sulphur 200/ one dose daily in the morning for a week and a homoeopathic tincture called Arnica Montana and mix 1 tsp in 1/2 cup of water and apply upon the face on the beard and the mustache area with a cotton swab. Then use the razor movement technique as in 1 above. Repeat the above process every 3rd day and see the growth in 1 month. Take a red mushroom called ganoderma 5 gms. 2 times per day at 12 hours interval for 3 months. Also, Pituitarin 30 one dose repeat after 15 days no further dose repeat after two month the same way All the above would definitely help to grow the beard. (If possible, share the pictures with me prior starting this treatment. Want to see the condition).

Let us consider the treatment of a fungal infection in the groin region i. e. around genitals. First thing what you need to do is, keep the area clean. Then see to it that the region is always dry because Wet and moist environment provides nice place for fungus to breed. Change the underwear daily. Old underwears to be thrown, please buy new ones. Stop smoking, tobbacco chewing, alcohol etc. habbits if present. Maintain good diet without sweet for a few days in non diabetics, diabetics need blood sugar level control. Medicines can be prescribed if not getting cured by these simple measures. Regards.

Precautions to be followed for Back Pain relief

BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Delhi
Precautions to be followed for Back Pain relief
Exercise your back regularly. Walking, swimming (especially backstroke) and using exercise bikes are all excellent ways to strengthen your back muscles.

Always bend your knees and your hips, not your back.

Maintain a good posture. Avoid slumping in your chair, hunching over a desk or walking with your shoulders hunched.

Use a chair with a backrest. Sit with your feet flat on the floor or on a footrest. Change how you sit every few minutes

You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. People who lose weight slowly, about 1 to 2 pounds per week, are more successful at keeping the weight off. You'll also burn additional calories if you increase your physical activity. You weight-loss plan should do all of the following: •Emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products. •Include lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts. •Contain foods low in saturated fats, avoid trans fats, and limit cholesterol and salt (sodium). •Avoid refined sugars and processed foods. Some tips to help you lose weight: •Keep a food diary. Writing down everything you eat is critical! Noting how you feel when you eat will help you identify emotional triggers that may cause you to overeat. Emotional eaters tend to overeat. •Eat when you're truly hungry rather than when you're tired, anxious or stressed. •Eat slowly. If you eat too fast, you eat more than you need to satisfy your hunger. Your brain needs time to catch up with your stomach. •Plan your meals ahead of time so you make healthy choices. When dining out, check the menu online and decide what you will order before you sit down. Ask for dressings on the side. Opt for foods that are baked, broiled or steamed versus fried or swimming in creamy sauces. Avoid chips and bread baskets—they add unnecessary calories. •Stay hydrated. People often mistake thirst for hunger. •Eat breakfast. If you skip this meal, you'll be starving by lunchtime. You'll have more difficulty making healthy choices throughout the day. Find resources to help you keep track of your food choices and nutritional values and that can offer additional support when you need it.

Good Evening doctor, I'm from Hyderabad, working in a US/IT staffing company as a process associate. My shift timings is evening 7: 30 Pm to morning 5: 00 Am, i'm completely working in night shifts from the last 6 months. I observed the vast variation in my appearance and I feel like very lazy all the day. Could you please suggest the right diet and what exercise should I do, to be active like as usual.

Working in night shifts for prolonged time leads to variation in the natural biological clock of the body and this affects your whole body and brain. You might notice change in your appetite (hunger), stools and sleep. Start taking balanced diet and include lots of fruits in your food. If needed, take multivitamin suppliments. Take 1 amla everyday, this will improve your immunity. Avoid all heavy and fried foods. Do daily 30 min cardio exercise and pranayam daily for 20 min.

How to lose fat? Does jogging help in reducing fat? Is green tea fine for reducing fat.
Hello lybrate-user, green tea (2-3 cups/day) and jogging (30-45 mins/3-4 days/week) both promote fat loss. Fat loss is the result of a holistic approach that includes- 1. Balanced diet rich in proteins and fibre like- egg, chicken, fish, milk, curd, paneer, sprouts, oats, wholegrain cereals and pulses, fruits and vegetables (fibre) 2. Exercise- doing 40-50 minutes of moderate to high intensity activity for 4-5 days/ week will help (walking/jogging/swimming etc) 3. Adding good quality fat like nuts and oilseeds-almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds (alsi) will help. 4. Rest for 7-8 hours to rejuvenate your system so it can work efficiently. 5. Water- having about 1 glass water every hour will help in flushing toxins from your system.

Drink plenty of fluids as this helps to prevent dehydration which occurs due to high fever and diarrhea. Individuals, who suffer from severe dehydration, may have to receive fluids intravenously. It is also important to follow a healthy diet. Nutritional deficiencies can easily develop due to the illness and hence you need to consume high-calorie, nutritious meals. Home remedies for typhoid include honey and water. Add some honey to warm water and drink this, as this soothes the digestive tract. Honey also supplies energy to the body.

If it is not an infection but a cyst it is unlikely to go away with antibiotics and will need surgical removal. I would advice you to complete the course of antibiotics and then see the doctor again

My mother is 69 years old. She is suffering from severe sciatica pain on her lower back, thighs and hip area. This pain has been with her for last 3 years now. What shall we do?

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Sciatica pain is called a syndrome. It signifies nerve pain spreading along the back if the thigh from lower back. There may be. Sensation problems of different varieties as well as muscle wasting and weakness in the region where the sciatic nerve is locared. But the mere syndromic diagnosis is not enough as the same symptoms may happen due to sciatic nerve compression like slipped disc. Intra spinal tumour. Local abscess. Bony growth compressing the nerve. Among many. At her age she is likely to suffer from osteoporosis. Vitamin d and calcium deficiency etc. So an mri of the limbo sacral spine will be of immense help. Youay consult van orthopedic surgeon for proper management.
