How to loose excess weight? How to detect the thyroid in our body is their any per meant solution for this?
Start your day with lemon juice This is one of the best therapies to eliminate belly fat. Pinch some yellow juice into a glass of warm water and add some salt to it. Continue drinking this every morning to boost your metabolism and to get rid of that paunch. Stay off from white rice Replace white rice with various wheat products. Include brown rice, brown bread, wholegrains, oats and quinoa in your diet. Avoid sugary substances Stay away from sweets, sweetened drinks and foods rich in oil. Consuming these foods can increase body fat around various areas of your body like abdomen and thighs. Drink plenty of water If you want to get rid of your belly, then drink sufficient amount of water every day. Drinking water, after regular intervals will help to boost your metabolism and remove toxins from your body. Eat raw garlic Chew two to three cloves of garlic every morning, and drink a glass of lemon water after that. This treatment will double up your weight loss process and make your blood circulation smooth in your body. Avoid non-veg food To eliminate belly fat, it is recommended that one should avoid non-vegetarian food as far as possible. Load up on fruits and vegetables Eat a bowl of fruits daily in the morning and evening. This will fill you up with many antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. Spice up your cooking Use spices like cinnamon, ginger and black pepper in your cooking. These spices are loaded with health benefits. They help to improve your insulin resistance and reduce levels of sugar in your blood. For detecting thyroid you need to do three test- TSH. FT4, FT3.

I am taking thyrox 50 and my TSH is 3.88. II have heard that in Allopathy you have to take the medicine for life long but in homeopathy its not the case. I want to switch over to homeopathy. May I know the homeopathy medicine name which I can start taking instead of thyrox 50 for the treatment of thyroid and for how long I'll have to take the medicine?

Lybrate-user, hypothyroidism is a condition occurring due to deficiency of hormone thyroxine produced by thyroid gland. Thyroxine is an essential hormone required for development and functioning of brain plus takes part in almost every single important metabolic reaction. Therefore, thyroxine has o be supplemented literally every day. Hence, treatment is for life time. Other than that there is no option. Unfortunately no substitute are available. So called cure claimed are really questionable. If you still want to try that medicine, choice is yours. Thanks.

I would advice you to continue with meteor. Metformin is the first drug of choice in any new diabetic. It has many advantages. It also reduces insulin resistance and provides slowing of disease progression.

Different Reasons for Infertility in Females & Males

MICOG, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
Different Reasons for Infertility in Females & Males

Infertility refers to the inability to conceive after having regular unprotected sex for a period of 12 months or so. The complex process of ovulation and fertilization need to work right in order to become pregnant.

The common reasons that cause infertility in female and male are listed below:

Reasons for female infertility:

  1. Uterine abnormalities - This includes problems related to the opening of cervix or abnormalities in the shape of the uterus which includes arcuate or septate uterus or any congenital anomalies like bicornuate uterus or uterine didelphys. Fibroids may distort the uterine cavity interfering with implantation of fertilized egg. Adenomyosis or endometriosis of the endometrium is one the common causes of early infertility.
  2. Thyroid problems - Disorders of the thyroid gland, either too much thyroid hormone or too little can interrupt the menstrual cycle, leading to infertility in the long run.
  3. Ovulation disorders - This prevents the ovaries from releasing eggs. Examples include hormonal disorder (PCOS, hypothyroidism, hyperprolactinemia), excessive exercise, eating disorders, injuries, cysts be it follicular or endometriotic and ovarian tumors.

Reasons for male infertility:

  1. Problems with delivery of sperm - This can happen due to sexual problems, such as premature ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation (semen entering bladder instead of emerging through the penis during orgasm), genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis, structural problems such as blockage of the part of the testicle that contains sperm or injury to reproductive organs.
  2. Damage related to cancer - This includes radiation and chemotherapy. Cancer treatments can impair sperm production. Removal of one testicle due to cancer may also affect male fertility.
  3. Abnormal sperm production - This can be due to various problems like undescended testicles, genetic defects, health problems including diabetes, infections such as mumps, chronic urinary tract infection especially e. Coli or surgeries on the testicles. Enlarged veins in the testes increase blood flow and heat, affecting the number and shape of sperm.

I have a hypho thyroidism how to cure it ? How to reduced my weight ?

MSc Foods & Nutrition, BSc Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
I can understand how you feel about. The best way is to eat every 3 hours in moderate amounts, a combination of more fibre, whole grains, Sprouts, legumes, salads, 3-4 cups green tea, have something every 3 hours in small portions, 1 fist dry fruits to have virgin fats, limit aerated & sugary beverages, junk foods, fast foods etc. Including more protein will build muscles - giving energy by burning extra fat and carbohydrates. Also you have to limit certain foods like all millets, most of the fats except coconut & olive oil, all veg from cabbage family, eat more beans like lima beans, omega essential fatty acid rich foods. Etc. More we can discuss in consultation.

Avoid non-veg (animal protein) like meat ,liver, fish .To reduce the uric acid levels in blood, you may need to limit intake of alcohol, sugary foods and reduce purine rich foods like meat, poultry, seafood and pulses. Vegetables such as cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, peas and mushroom also contain a lot of purines.
